221g white slip for L1B
Hi All,
VO has issued 221g white slip for my L1B petition. VO had asked most of the questions about client & my organization relation. Generally these type of questions will be for H1B cases. I am not sure why she had asked those questions to me.

Finally she said that my application is under administration processing for some more review as this is my first time visa processing and not required any further details.

Can anyone pleas help me what will be their next step? I have not given any client contact name or email(just informed about client name)? Will they contact client in L1B cases also or they will do some other back ground checks?

Please help me int his regards !

Thanks !

Information needed
Hi Everyone,

i have seen few post in which user has written that his/her visa is in Initial Review. My L1B is also filled in premium processing and got RFE. Attorneys have responded to RFE and status is now Response received to USCIS to request for evidence. Now is there any other site except "https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do" to check the status of L1.

L1A individual approved
hello to every one in this forum

i just thank a lot this forum how it is useful to me

before two day i got approve from council

my suggest to you if you have approval from uscis so you dont need worry to get visa

if the approval came from uscim just you need to know all information it written in the petition coz the council will ask you about it and you must say the same information in the petition if you said the same information so dont worry ur visa will approved direct

if you have refuse , or reject before it is not impact to the L1A visa coz i have refuse visa before 2 years my refuse visa about b1/b2 but it is never ever impact to my visa about l1A until the council not ask you about that

you must take all your document when you go to interview

me:good morning
vo:good morning

vo:how long you are experience or your work with current country
me:answer the same in petiton

vo:when you are executive manager
me:say the same petition

vo:tell me about you company what are the do
me:answer the same petition

vo:tell me about the future company
me:answe the same petition

vo:give me something to a prove you have continue work in your current country
me:i give him my business card and identity for company and tell him if you need sth contact to my company and they feed you everything you need

vo:and the golden word your visa it is approval and you will receive your passport in the next 5 days

my tips
if you have approval from uscim so dont worry for your visa until if you have refuse before for any kind of the visa does not matter

read all your document in the petition the attorney must send it to you

all your answer must be the same in the petition

if you do my tips your visa will approval 99.999%

be confident

read the experience interview about l1A

and finally i wish all the best to all people have interview

L1A Blanket Visa Approved at Chennai
Apologies - the original thread got posted before I could finish. Re-posting again.

Summary of my experience given below. I am skipping the generic procedures at the OFC and the Consulate as it has been detailed several times here already.

Important points to remember :

1. Ensure you have the sticker with the right visa class affixed to your passport after the OFC appointment. For individual petitions it would be marked as L1 and blanket would be marked as L1B. Do not confuse between the visa class A (managerial) and B (specialized skill)here.

2. Carry the same DS160 documents which would be stamped after the OFC to the consulate for the PAI.

3. Carry 3 set of petition documents (I129 and I797). They are given in sets of 3 for a reason - not as backup in case you lose one set. I saw atleast 2 people who came with only 1 set.

4. Confidence is important - dress code is not. Remember you represent your organization in most cases and so dress accordingly. Tie and Blazer giving an edge during PAI is an absolute myth.

5. Answer only to the point - if they need additional details they will ask you for it. I saw several folks answer at length unnecessarily and the interviewer had to cut them short. This sort of throws you off track.

6. For L1A remember to prepare on the following lines

- Why you and not someone already at onsite?
- Your reporting structure (above and below) with roles and responsibilites
- your roles and responsibilites - highlight what makes you different from a typical project manager and stress on hire and fire, approval & signatory authority etc
- Why cant you do this from offshore?

Questions to me

1. My designation and company - Senior Project Manager
2. Work location (client or parent company) - Client
3. Client Name and Location
4. My onsite salary - Above 100k
5. My manager name and role and his manager name and role - for me it was Enagagement Manager and VP
6. My direct and indirect reportees at onsite - 8 direct and 4 indirect
7. Any Managers reporting to me - Yes, 1 of them
8. What is different from his role and mine - No hire and fire for him but I have that authority. Keep it short here. Stress on your authority.
9. Total years of experience in the current company - 13 years

There were no questions to my wife. My son ( aged 10) had the following questions

1. Pointing to my wife - who is this?
2. Pointing to me - who is this?
3. Have you been to the US before - yes
4. Do you like it there - just a casual question which my son answered

He stamped 2 sets of I129 and returned them to me saying my Visa is approved. Asked me to carry on to the POE (not in check in luggage) when I travel. My PAI was scheduled for 11:30 am. I reached at 11 and was let in immediately. I was out of the building by 12 noon.

I went through the last few pages on this forum and it helped me prepare well. Please reach out to me in case you have any questions. Would be glad to help.

Hi All,

First i would like to thank to this forum which helped me a lot to prepare well for the interview.

I passed through all the ques in just 20 minutes of time. It was fast and quick because i have already kept all the documents ready as per mentioned in this forum by other folks.

Below is my experience with the VO and questions asked:

VO: Please come forward (from yellow line)
Me: (At window)... Good Morning Officer and Wish you a very Happy New Year ahead!

VO: Thank you sir and Wish you the same! Please give me your documents.
Me: (Handed over all required documents I-129 [3 Sets], I-797[3 Sets], Payment Receipts and Passport.

VO: So you are working with ZZZ?
Me: Yes

VO: Is this company associated with any parent company?
Me: Sorry, i missed that. Could you please repeat the question? (His sound was not audible to me)

VO: YYYY Company associated with any parent company?
Me: Yes, it is associated with it's parent company ZZZ.

VO: Since, how long you are with this company?
Me: X years

VO: Are you going to work for a specific client?
Me: No. I am going to work for my parent company.

VO: How many products you have worked on?
Me: XX Products. Explained in 2 lines.

VO: So any specific client?
Me: No. As i mentioned earlier, i am going to work for one of our Business Unit YYYY of our parent company and not for any specific client.

VO: Who uses your products?
Me: Explained.... Told him generic client list...

Then he asked me to hold on for a min... and he was furiously typing on his screen for whole 1 minute.

VO: How many days you will be in US?
Me: 3 Years, as mentioned in petition.

VO: What is your specialization?
Me: I am YYYY Specialist and YYYY Proprietary Methodology Expert.

VO: What is this YYYY X (asked me to explain the specialization)?
Me: Explained specialization with an live example and that is including himself :)

VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes

VO: Are you going with your family?
Me: Yes.

VO: So why they are not here for Visa?
Me: One of my kid is too young to bring him here with me... So it is more convenient for me to apply there Visa's from other location which is near to my place and off-course only if you are approve my visa... (smile). He also gave me a smile.

VO now started arranging all my 3 sets.... and said finally that "Sir, I am approving your Visa... Give one copy to your HR and Keep one copy with you to show it at PoE".. and said "Enjoy and Have a good trip."

It was an awesome experience.... Just need to keep below things very clear when you are standing in front of VO for interview:

1. Always keep smile on your face.
2. Short and Crisp Answers.
3. Answer confidently.
4. Maintain the eye contact.
5. If you are not clear with the question... Don't hesitate to ask again. So that you can provide correct answer.
6. At the start and at the end... Greet these officers very well. Be very polite and give answers very slowly.... No need to rush.. your time is reserved. :)

Remember, all VOs are good and very polite... They consider each and every case as fresh case. So please don't get panic if any VO reject visa of person who is standing in front of you.

Dress code is not necessary... They don't even care about it. Just be neat and tidy.

ALL THE VERY BEST FRIENDS!!! :)
