L1-B Individual approved at Chennai
Hi All,

Like everyone i also got the chance to share my visa interview Experience. I am lucky to get visa approved .
My advise for everyone is before going to interview please do research and analysis about your case this will really help you how to get prepared.

On 2-Aug my interview scheduled at chennai , You don’t believe there were around 1200 to 1500 people standing in front of the gate waiting for Visa interview. I got shocked after seeing that huge crowd . It looks like in august so many people would like to apply. But anyway that’s not our track,we will go for directly to interview.

I was all set and prepared at least 50 question for the interview and finally I am surprised with the VO , since he asked me only one one one one one one question to me.
Me: Good morning Sir
VO: Good Morning, Will you be working from client place?
Me: I will be working from our own office and will go to client office in need.
VO: Thanks sir , I am approving your VISA.
ME: Flying Flying Flying still now.
What I feel is once L-1B Individual gets approved from USCIS , 99.9% the VISA is confirmed only 0.1% will go something like administrative processing . But in the case of L1-B Blanket , we should have strong case to prove that we are eligible for it.
I am very much thankful to this site ,I got to know so many experience with this.
Finally Hard word will never fail . Thanks Guys all the very Best for your cases.

Specialized skill
Hi All

I am seeking advise on this.

My Manager (American) is pregnant and she wants me to cover for her while she is on leave for 3 months.
Immigation has advised to apply for L1B as I have 6 yrs of exp with 3 yrs in this company. However, i do not belong to technology field, My profile is Onboarding, induction Exit ...... for Hires in US and UK. hence I was wondering what specialized skill should I use in order to not get rejected. In short, How can I put forth my application so that Visa is approved.

Suggestions and advise will be highly appreciated as I am lloking forward to have the visa stamped.

Thanks.

L1B Blanket - 2nd time - Approved
I had applied in April and got rejected. I understood that my approach was wrong last time.
I had picked up a wrong industry standard technology last time, and got rejected.
This time I was well prepared, Thanks to this forum

I had my interview this time at 10 AM, which is a better time than the last one (730 AM).
I was very tensed but managed to keep my tension within me and kept smiling.
I was there at the consulate by 935 AM and was happy to see a small line. Even though I was in and done with the initial two counters by 950 AM, I had to wait for almost an hour before I was allowed to go into the visa interview building.
I think since it is a rainy season, people are not kept outside waiting and are brought in and made to wait inside.

Soon after I entered the 2nd building, I had a sense of comfort. Most people were going out smiling. So I had a feeling it was a good day. That kind of boosted my confidence. Once i had given my DD, I waited for another 30-40 mins, and finally I was called at 1145 AM.

I was happy to see the VO, as he seemed to be nice and gentle and he approved all visas to the people before me.

Here are my set of questions. He interviewed me for almost 10 mins as it was a 2nd time application.

L1A or B?
What is your salary in India?
What will be your salary in US?
So you are applying for the 2nd time. So it may take some time. (here I was a bit nervous, I thought even this time he will return my passport and will ask me to come later. He was reading the screen and was smiling a little).
What does your company xx do?
What is your area of expertise?
What does the technology it do?
Who are your clients?
Any client who has used this?
Will you be working at the client place?
Where will you be working from?
Were you part of the development of team?
Why cant the client develop it?

All the time the VO was smiling and seemed to be in a good mood. And that made me more confident and answer more confidently.
And finally he said, OK I am clear. Your visa is approved (Oh my god I was so happy).

Unlike my previous encounter where I thought the VO was very much made up his mind, I feel this is more of luck than anything else.
My advise: Keep it simple and point to your area of expertise where you are comfortable. Don't over prepare yourself and don't lie. Just go with a mindset that you won't get through, what worse can happen.

L1A blanket - 'Not clearly approvable'
Me: goor morning office
VO: Good morning sir

VO: Which client you gng to work for?
Me: I am going to work for XX, YY, ZZ,AA clients

VO: What are your key responsbilites
Me: Explained it in terms of custmer relationship building, managing multiple projects etc etc.

VO: What is you indian salary?
Me: It is XX,XX,ZZZ rs per year sir

VO: How much you US salary?
Me: It is YY,YYY USD per year

VO: How many direct reportees?
Me: X number

VO: (a bit surprised): Are you sure about that sir?
Me: Yes. (In my org chart I had shown 7. )

VO: Your onsite reporting manager's title?
Me: Its Business development manager

All the while, VO was typing something and looking at the screen. After a while,

VO: Dear sir, blanket petition qualifies a title of senior project manager to have a set of guidelines and yours doesn't qualify for that. Pls consult your HR for applying in the right category.

Don't know what went wrong. Anyways, all the very best to the current applicants

Cheers!!!

?On D-day we reached approx 9:30 for 10 AM app...n got entry directly then again due to kid we need not to wait in right hand side queue as well and got priority token no.After 5 mins wait we got our no flashing then on that counter they club all docs in rubber band and hand it over after having one more round of finger scan we proceed to interview section ..for our surprise there aso they asked us to skip line of 50 guys and got direct entry there I submit my draft and waited 5 mins before my interview was called.
Lady asked me following question

For whom you will work ?
What is ur specialized knowledge ?
What is ur salary ( I asked In US or India..she said both)
You been to US earlier ( I said yes as I went on B1 )

L1B Visa interview Experience
Hi all, wonderful job done by all people out here. Today I appeared for L1B visa interview and successfully been issued visa and my passport will reach in next 3-4 days:

Below were the questions which were asked:

1. Are you applying for L1A or L1B?
2. What is your specialty?
3. What would be your salary in US?
4. For how much time you are going to stay in US?

Then after few minutes, he put stamped on three sets of I129S forms and said - Give one set to your HR and one set you need to carry when you are travelling to US..

Everything went well.

My experience:
1. Don't get puzzled there. Answer all questions clearly and loudly.
2. Give all answers as per DS!60 form
3. Clothes doesn't matter but its always good to have formals. I wore "Grey Trouser + White Shirt", all time favorite combination.

Best of luck to all visa aspirants..

Cheers.
