Hi All,
My L1B was approved on 07/11/2013. Thanks to this forum. I sugesst everyone who is applying visa should go through these experiences to get an idea and confident.

FingerPrints:
You need only the Appointment Confirmation
DS-160 Confirmation and current Passport

I did this on 07/10 2013. A very easy procedure and youc an carry your mobile but switched off. They dont allow any pen drive or cd kind.

Consulate Interveiw:
My slot was at 10 am. I went aroung 9.45AM. Please dont go empty stomach. You need to go through several queue to go for the final interveiw . Also i would sugesst to keep the forms in the below order and aviod carrying it in a bag or cover. Just a file holder would do.

Order of docuemnts: (This really helped me to pass the queue fast)

Appointment Confirmation
DS 160 Conformation
Current Passport
3 copies of pettition letter provided by your company
DD for fees.

All other old passports,BEP, cover letter, you resume ect ect can be kept after the above documents. But keep the above documents at the top .

The Consulate Interveiw was just a cake walk for me

A lady officer interviewed me.

VO: Good Morning. How are you?
Myslef: Good Morning Im fine thanks . How are you?

Vo: Im good (Started typing something in computer)... Which company do you work for?
I told

VO: What is your specilization?

L1A Approved at New Delhi
Hi Guys,

Just wanted to do my bit to make sure other are getting help from my experience as I have got help from other's experience.

8th July - OFC
Very quick. Wife and 2 yrs old son were allowed to go inside after checking the passport, ds160 and appointment letter, while I was sweating outside in the queue (Why dont they put a fan there). They did try to click a pic of my son for 2-3 minutes and finally succeeded. But just to be safe, they asked me to bring two pics of my son to the embassy, which they never asked.

9th July - Embassy
I was late for 9:00 AM interview as I was asked to stand in the queue with 9:30 AM folks. Soon security saw my little son and we were asked to go in the front and then again my wife and son were allowed to go inside while I got my papers checked and deposited our mobile phones.

Once inside, our token was called within two minutes (F series token - perhaps stands for family??). And then again as we reached near ten-printing counter, we are sent directly to the window and stand in the queue (behind three families already in the queue) without ten-printing.

VO was a young guy, not taking more than 3-4 minutes. Our turn came -

Me- Good Morning Sir
VO - Good Morning. Give me your passports.

VO - Which company
Me - NTL

VO - Which client
Me - xyz based at xyz (remember this is L1A)

VO - What they do
Me - explained

VO - How long you have been working with this company
Me - 3+ years

VO - What is the team size reporting to you
Me - 30+

VO - What is your highest qualification
Me - MBA

VO - Tell me something about the project
Me - explained

VO - What is your salary
Me - Told Indian salary per anum

VO - No, your US salary
Me - Told my US salary

Then he turned to my wife and asked in hindi
VO - maam aapki shadi kab hui
Wife - told

VO - maam aapka beta kab hua
Wife - told

Then he finger printed both of us and kept our passports in the tray with a smile and said - Your Visa is Approved :)

Thank You and All the Best!!!

L1B Blanket Approved
Hi Guys,

To start with this is the best site which can guide you for your Visa processing. Just go through the entrire threads and it will guide you with what all is needed.

I had my OFC appointment in Mumbai on 25th June 2013. It is a normal process where all you documents are verified and biometrics is carried out. The docs required for biometrics are as follows:
1) DS 160 confirmation
2) Original Passport
3) Appointment Letter
4) VISA fee receipt

The biometric process takes around 30 mins. Mine was all smooth and quick.

The D day was on 8th July 2013. I had my appointment scheduled at 10:00 AM in Chennai Consulate.

I arrived at the location on 9.20 AM. Since the climate here is too hot and humid I would suggest please arrive at the location not more that 40 mins of you appointment time.
On arrival your DS160 and the appointment letter is checked along with your original passport. Keep these documents handy. You will be provided with a token number which will be stuck on ur passport as a sticker. Next you will enter the building after a security check and asked to be seated. Please do carry your mobile phones or any keys to the interview.

In the waiting area you have to keep checking if your token number is getting flashed on the TV screen. Once it does you have to proceed to the denoted window number. Here all you petition, DS 160, passport and DD will be taken. The documents shall be seperated and 3 sets of I129 S shall be bundled together. All other docs go inside the folder and are not required unless asked for.

Next you have to proceed to another buliding where the final round of interview is conducted. As soon as you enter in please make sure you submit your DD at the cashier counter. After the payment you will be given a receipt which will be attached to your documents.

Next you have to wait for your token to flash again. This was the final moment. My interview questions were as follow:

VC: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning Sir

VC: Your documents please
Me: Ya Sure ( Sliding the bundle through the window)

VC: Will you work for a client or your company?
Me: For a client

VC: Which Client?
Me: Gave the client name

VC: What is your specialization?
Me: I was briefing him about my specialization during which he had started signing my docs.

VC: Crossed questioned about these specialization?
Me: Explained in detail

That was it. I got 2 copies of my I129S stamped and he kept one. And that is when I realized my visa is approved. :-)

Notes:
Go though the entire forum.
Keep your documents well segregated (The person in front of me was not able to find the requested documents and the VC was a little upset about it)
Be calm and confident in your answers.
Catch hold of someone who can take your mocks (In my case it was my hubby who helped me in preparation)

Wish you all Goodluck for your rounds.
Cheers!!!

First of all this forum is really great in providing tips and other useful link. My Visa interview went in smooth last Friday (after VAC interview on 26th June).

For VAC appointment:
1. DS 160 form
2. Passport (only the latest is enough)
3. Appointment schedule print out

the whole process is just 10 minutes. So dont rush before 15 minutes of the interview time.

For the consulate interview
1. DS160
2. New and old passports
3. Appointment letter print out
4. Blanket petition documents and other supporting documents.
5. All other supporting documents were never were used and it just came back home as it went in ;)

The people inside the consulate are really friendly people and professional. They guide you whenever you need any help. So feel free to ask them about any questions you may have. Coming back to the final interview, there were a couple of rejections before my token number came. But I was confident about my status. My interview lasted just about 2 minutes.

1. Which company you work for?
2. How long you've been with this company?
3. What do you do there?
4. Whats your specialization?
5. What is your US salary?

I took a good 5 second pause before answering any questions just to make sure I understood the questions rightly and to make sure the VO completes the questions. I talked very slowly about the answers and was pausing as and when I wish. Take a deep breath before you go the VO officer counter and feel confident about what you do. if you are really possessing any "specialization skills", you definitely will get through. If you are married, take you wife along for the interview as many cases I saw during the whole 30 odd minutes, there was not a single rejection for married couple (I dont know which category they all came in though).

1. Dont over-prepare yourself
2. Just once go through the questions posted in this forum
3. Feel confident and you would have 1 solid minute to show-case your skillsets. Make the better use and never use technical jargons.
4. Keep a simple smile and wish the VO from heart.

All the best to whoever is going for the interview.

L1B VISA rejection possibility after individual petition approval
Hi All,
I have been keenly reading the experiences posted here. I wanted to know what are the chances of rejection of L1B VISA after the petition has been approved for an individual L1B by USCIS.
If someone who has gone through such a (bad) experience, please do update.

Over the net, I read that there is still a possibility of VISA officer rejecting your petition even after approval from USCIS. This is more of a general statement. I was looking for a more precise thing like X % of applications have been rejected by VISA office in INDIA even after approval from USCIS. Based on my understanding of things, "X"should be less then 5.

What are the general views and experiences, if you have been through such an experience or know someone, please do reply.

thanks,
-Raj

L1A Visa Interview
The interview seemed to be quite routine.

The interview began with queries regarding my previous travels to US on B1 Visa.

After that routine questions were asked

What is your Indian Salary
What will be your US Salary
How many people report to you in India
How many people will report to you in US
Out of it how many will be direct reports in US

To my wife:
For how many years are you married?

Post that my visa was approved by the officer.

Now currently I am in USA and my wife and son they are going to attend the L2 dependents visa. Earlier they were not able to attend with me becuase of there was no business need to travel my family along with me.
I am not sure how their L2 Visa process will go? Is that be easy? I am worrying mostly questions on why they didn't travel with me or why not appeared earlier with L2?
Any expereince or guidance from you guys?
