L1 Visa interview at Chennai on 14th May
First of all I would like to thank immihelp and the people who shared their experience in this forum.

My Exp.
Tue 7th May 13
New Delhi OFC
After getting in the office it took 15-20 min for all the things ( finger prints and photograph).

Tue 14th May 12
Chennai Consulate
I will straight away go to the question which VO asked me

VO : Good Morning , How are you ?
Me : I am good , how are you
VO : I am also good.

VO : Which company are you working for?
Me : Replied my Organization name

VO : What is your Specialized Skill?
Me : Answered relevant context which i filled in DS-160.
Note: Do not start like a parrot which appear like you memorized the answers. It should be like you are have a conversation with VO.
VO interrupted me when i was explaining the skill asked one more question.

VO: How long you are going to be in US
Me : Answered with the duration I am going

VO: Alright , I am going to approve your Visa. Happy stay in US.
Me : Thanks

My gut feeling is that approval of Visa is pre decided (appx 70%) rest 30% the answer we give to VO and the way we speak to VO. It should not feel like as if we have pre prepared the answers.

Regards
AR

L1B approved on 14 May 2013
My OFC and the consulate interview were scheduled on the same day in Chennai. The OFC was at 8am and the consulate at 11am. The day started with a hiccup, my taxi guy arrived at 7:45 instead of 7:00 for which i had booked. I arrived at the consulate at exact 8am and I was allowed inside. They verified the DS160 confirmation, Passport and appointment confirmation and let me proceed for bio-metric and photo counter. The entire process took less than 15 mins.

I reached the consulate at 10:30 am for the 11am appointment. Stood in a queue for a few mins, they verified the DS 160 confirmation, Passport and appointment letter and stuck a token number on my passport. This token number was used during the entire process. I proceeded towards the security check, they then let me to the room where the document verification counters were there. My token number flashed on the screen and at the counter they bundled 3 copies each of I129 and I797 with my passport and the DDs and gave it to me. These are the only documents which are most important; all the other documents such as copy of marksheets, BEP letter, support letter are additional documents. I was then sent towards a counter where my finger print verification was done. After this I was made to wait for a few minutes and then sent towards the other building where the actual interview takes place. I deposited my DDs in one of the counters here. While standing in the queue for this I observed the interview being taken for candidates in the adjacent counter. It was a lady officer who was patiently asking questions; she was very gracious as well. For instance, there was one teenaged girl who had come for student Visa, she was from some rural part of Tamilnadu and had a bit of difficulty in understanding English. The officer made sure that the girl understood the question that she was asking by repeating the questions a few times and also using simple terms. I was impressed. After depositing the DDs I sat and looked at the screen for my turn of the interview. When my token number flashed I stood in the queue, the guy before me was from a reputed Indian services company, I suppose it was for H1, it was cleared. The officer was courteous. She asked me the following questions:

1) Your client
2) Which place will you work
3) Salary I am getting in India
4) Onsite salary
5) What would I do during my stay
6) What does the tool do exactly
7) The other geographies in which my tool was deployed.
8) How long would I stay

She had a look at her screen for a few seconds and then stamped my I129 copies and returned back to me and said my visa was approved and greeted me. The entire process was very smooth and I personally had a good experience. I did observe a few officers doing the interview, each of them were very gracious and were asking questions with a lot of patience. Some of you in this thread of said that the Visa’s would already been pre-approved, but I have no clue on that.

L1 B Blanket rejected
I had applied for L1 B blanket VISA and was scheduled for interview on last friday at chennai.
It was sorry state for the ppl who were waiting outside for their turn to go inside., 1 hour outside at main highway under scorching heat.
Lets come to the point.
It seemed like they had already made up their mind to select/reject VISA as it looked like. What I observed that they were issuing visas to students, H1B, Old parents , ladies and couples with kids.
It was very unfortunate to see all of the male people got rejections as per what I saw.
They didnt ask much questions. only " specialized skills" which I explained and they immediately rejected saying , " skills are not matching so apply in different category". No next question. max 30 seconds.
I think when they fetch your details in their computer, they already see your status of "selection/rejection" reflecting because Its not possible for human mind to understand the skills or petition in less than a min. Perhaps US has some quota and they cant cross. Its not their fault.

Best of Luck friends . Wish you all get VISA of US..
I may have to reapply but I heard they would reject again. Good Luck is needed.

L1-B Individual Approved @ New Delhi US Embassy
I have picked 8 am time slot of 7th May, 2013. I reached embassy at 7.30 & after few minutes security checks started & a token number was issued to me.
Since it is early morning slot so most of the counselor counters were closed. Only three counters were opened. My number was fourth at 13th numbered counter. All three person ahead of me got visa. One couple got business visa while other got L1 & H1.
I was little bit nervous since all visa ahead of me were granted. I was thinking that she might reject mine. when one token number flashes, I went for the interview. Lady greeted me & I greeted her back. She asked me following questions:

Q1. Is it individual petition?
Q2. Is it for Manager or specialized skills?
Q3. What do you do?

After that she said my visa has been approved. I said her Thanks you & started leaving counter. She asked me to hold on a seconds & stared at her computer's screen. She murmured few sentences that I had been refused to grant to visa earlier. I felt nervous & I thought she might reject my application but I replied in confident voice that yes, my b1\b2 visa were rejected twice in Jan, 2009. Finally she told me that your visa was confirmed & it would be delivered to you in a day or two.

L1 Blanket approved in Toronto, Canada
Hi all,

I had my L1 Blanket interview at the Toronto consulate.

I was in US and my L1B was expiring, so my employed filed a new L1B petetion in Canada instead of filing an extension with USCIS since it has more chances for getting approval.

I had my interview schduled on 22nd April 2013 at 9 am. I reached the consulate around 8.15, but they asked me to come by 8.50 am.

After the security check , they let me in the consulate and one lady verified the documents and arraned them in a folder. She asked me to pay the $500 Anti-Fraud fee and $2250 Border Security Fee to the cashier. My company had provided me the check for this and when I went for payment, the cashier said they will accept the checks which is not older than 3 months. Mine was dated Jan 2013. They asked me to get another one. I had my attorney office nearby and got a new one. But when I returned back , the cashier said, she was mistakenly said that and the old check was fne.

After that, they gave me a token number and asked me to wait. Then they called me for thr finger prints and asked again to wait. Within 10 minutes, they called me for the interview and the below questions were asked.

1. employer
2. client
3. us location
4. us salary
5. Technolgy I am working
6. specialized skills

After that he said the visa is approved.

I got my passport after 4 days.
