7/6/14- (Sunday!!!) received e-mail that I haven't included $250 for renunciation of Indian citizenship. Send credit card info by return e-mail. 07/08/14 - CKGS called my mobile phone to let me know that they don't accept American Express, only Visa/Mastercard and took the number over the phone. 07/09/2014 - OCI renewal and renunciation were sent to Consulate by CKGS. 07/14/2014 - Date of Acknowledgement shown on Govt website; File Acknowledgement # generated.07/28/14- Doc printing Status-Processed. 08/02/14 Doc recv'd at NYC CGI. 08/12/14 Recv'd e-mail from CKGS requesting US passport for match-up.

07/02: App returned 2nd time, because of "missing birth cert". Again documents were already in the package.
07/03: Sent 3rd time with an itemized checklist and escalated to CGI SF.
07/07: Application delivered at CKGS-SF. The whole CKGS processing done within 2 hours. Extra money refunded. Escalation helped. 1 month wasted for no reason.
07/08: Application finally at consulate.
07/21: Received the Renunciation Cert + Canceled Indian PP from CGI-SF, on request
08/05: Documents Printing Status: PROCESSED in New Delhi
08/07: Documents dispatched from India to CGI-SF
08/19: CGI-SF Received OCI
08/21: Asked CKGS and they acknowledged they have the OCI.

The gov of India site shows that the OCI cards have been received in San Francisco on Aug 19th, 2014. However, no email yet from CKGS over past week. (And yes I'm sure its not in the junk folder) Should I send the passports for matchup anyway? I have emailed them to check and will also call tomorrow.
Anyone else pro-actively sent the passports for matchup based only on Gov of India web site status that cards have been delivered to the consulate/CKGS?

I went to SF for an emergency match-up of my OCI with my passport. My passport was already in SF for the tourist visa. I did a passport withdrawal form and got my passport back and did a matchup on the same day. The people at CKGS SF were great. There was zero bureaucracy. I attribute it to lack of Indians working there :-)
