Currently waiting for notice for interview, but just got engaged...will it affect?
Minneapolis, MN

Application received: 1/12/2019
Biometric Apt Notice: 1/19/2019
Biometric Appointment: 2/7/2019
Current status is "We reviewed your biometrics"....does that mean it's completed?

Then I got engaged...trying to plan a wedding, but not sure when I will receive the notice for the interview. Does it matter if my status is changed to married before the interview? Also terrified to set a wedding date due to a pending interview date that nobody knows what the timeline is...

Any advice?

Dallas/Houston N400 Timeline
I moved from Dallas to Houston during my application process, so part of the initial timeline is for the Dallas office.

11/20/2017: Check cashed
11/24/2017: Received biometrics letter
12/06/2017: Biometrics test
12/06/2017: status updated to actively reviewing application
07/16/2018: AR-11 form submitted to update address (as I moved from Dallas to Houston)
10/4/2018: status updated to interview scheduled for 11/8/2018
10/5/2018: interview scheduled at Dallas office when it should have been scheduled for Houston
10/5/2018: called USCIS to update my address
10/10/2018: called USCIS to update my address (again)
10/22/2018: received letter confirming that application was transferred to the Houston office
11/2/2018: called USCIS to see if Houston office received my application; spoke to supervisor this time. Was informed that it can take 30-60 days for the application to be moved/received.

[Houston]
11/8/2018: status updated to interview scheduled for 12/14/2018 at the Houston office
12/14/2018: interviewed at the Houston office. Officer was super nice. He asked for my passport and green card. Next, he asked me 6 civics questions, to write one sentence, to read one sentence, and then reviewed my entire application. At the end, he Recommended me for approval.
12/17/2018: case submitted for quality review
12/17/2018: placed in line for interview
01/23/2019: scheduled for oath
01/23/2019: oath scheduled for 02/13/2019
02/13/2019: oath ceremony completed at M.O. Campbell center (more details below)
02/13/2019: submitted passport application

Entire process took 16 months.

Oath ceremony experience: doors open at 7am, closes at 8am. Ceremony starts at 10am, ends around 11:30am. During sign-in, they collect your green card, give you a packet with a passport application, constitution, flag, letter from the president, etc., and a colored card and ask you to find a seat. At the end of the ceremony, they call you by your card color to collect naturalization certificates. During the ceremony, coffee, water, soda are available for purchase. I also saw them selling donuts at the beginning, but those disappeared quickly. After the ceremony, they have stations setup for updating social security records and submitting passport applications. You can also take photos with the judge after the ceremony, though the judge left around 11:30 so some people weren’t able to take a photo with him.

Hope this helps!

"Yes" to Question 22 on form N-400 for minor traffic tickets
During my interview, IO reconfirmed me about traffic tickets for question #22 on form N-400 and I said, I got some minor traffic tickets and paid them all but I was never arrested. I also provided the payment receipts for those traffic tickets to the IO. IO updated my application for Q#22 from original "No" to "Yes" and scanned the traffic tickets payment receipts in the computer. IO did not ask Q#23.

At the end, IO mentioned that he is recommending the approval for my application but when he printed the final outcome, it said" no decision has yet been taken".

He said I may have to wait upto 120 days as Virginia is a large state.

I am very worried about my case. Did anyone had this type of issue earlier and what was the outcome.
What should I do now?

Finally crossed the finish line!
Want to share my experience, hoping that it will help and encourage someone and also want to give God all the glory for a smooth process.

My timeline (please excuse me for not using the usual platform format):

Application received: 5/2/2018
Bio-metrics Appointment: 5/24/2018
Interview Date: 11/28/2018
Oath Ceremony: 2/13/2019

I applied through the 5 year GC and I also used an immigration lawyer as my case was somewhat complex (in my opinion). I received my GC through asylum. Mind you that prior to receiving my GC I received some charges:
DUI
Public Intoxication
Underage Drinking

It's only by God's grace that I was still able to get my GC. At the time of my interview I was asked about these charges again and I was just honest with the IO. That the charges were received when I was a young college student. These incidents happened close to 10 years ago and I have not had trouble with the law since then.

My advice is always give your case to the Lord and follow the directions on the application and be truthful.

I also want to note that I used the online account to keep track of my status but it was somewhat useless because it didn't update the way it did for others. For example I never saw a "In line for oath" status. It went straight from we approved your application back in November and then in January it changed to "We scheduled your oath".

(I filed in Fairfax, VA)

I hope this helps at least one person. Good luck to all those still waiting. May God orchestrate the process for you.

Blessings,
New American Citizen

San Jose field office timelines
Hi all,
Hi all,

I just got my child's Interview schedule notice from USCIS San Jose field office, so wanted to share with you all the timelines. I'd appreciate your help in answering my Qath questions down below:

* N400 submitted online:  6/11/2018
* Biometrics Notice:  6/26/2018
* Biometrics Date:  7/5/2018 -> Rescheduled to 7/26/2018
* Interview Notice:  2/14/2019  (Date on Notice of Action: 2/12/2019)
* Interview Date:  3/19/2019

Questions: Can anyone please help answer my questions re: Oath Ceremony?

 1) How long did it take from Interview Date to Oath Ceremony Notice + Scheduled Date?

 2) I saw online (nolo.com) that Interviewee can "Select" a date for ceremony, sometimes (esp. if choosing btw USCIS location or US Court), is this correct?

 3) If answer is No to 2), then is it possible to reschedule Oath Ceremony IF the date does NOT work (too early)?  In that case, can I designate a preferred date (like I did for the Biometrics appt), or the system randomly picks another date?

I'd appreciate everyone's response, in advance - the more the replies based on experience the better! :)
Thanks and good luck to all!
