Refused entry twice
I am Canadian and my wife is American and we married in Niagara Falls, USA on October 8th 2016.

October 21st - 25th 2017 we traveled to Anaheim, California for our Honeymoon. We liked California a lot and made a decision to move there. We found a house in a 55 plus gated community in Hemet, Southern California and purchased it outright.

December 1st 2017 we packed up all our stuff and the moving company (our furniture) and started our journey driving to Southern California. We stayed one night in Sarnia, Ontario and on December 2nd we made our way to the Blue Water Border Crossing. I have a valid 10 year passport. We at the cabin, I told the absolute truth that we were moving to Southern California. I was asked my status and if I had a Green Card. (NO) to both questions. At that moment, we were asked to go to secondary. Inside, we explained our situation and I was flat out refused entry in to the USA because we did not start the Immigration process but on the USA website, it states that i can start the process in the USA.

We headed back to Windsor where we stayed for two months. Hired an Immigration Lawyer and handed in all our documentation. Within 10 business days, the lawyer recieved the I-797 form. On our second attempt to cross at The Ambassador Border Crossing, I was again, flat out refused entry into the USA. I was taken in for a pat down which was extremely rough. After all once said and done, we headed back to Windsor.

On February 5th 2018 my wife decided to fly out to our house with our dog. My wife has serious medical issues. Lupus and RA and SLE and heart issues. From her doctor in Amherst, NY, we handed in a medical letter.

We are now on the last leg of this unfortunate journey. Just waiting for one more document to arrive in California at our house from Virginia so that all 5 documents can be placed in an envelope and mailed to the processing center in Nebraska.

In this whole ordeal, we have the California Congressman and a case worker that works with him helping us.

I ask: Is there anyone out there in a similar situation.

Thank you for listening,

Sonny350

N400 Chicago
Sent application for myself and spouse via mail on 8/28/2017.
PD - 9/5/2017
Bio metrics - 9/25/2017

"On September 27, 2017, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form" has been the status since then.

Any Chicago filers from July or Aug-2017 who have got an interview date yet?

I'm looking to hear from anyone that has had an interview for the Washington DC field office.

I sent my application in Jan 2017
Received biometrics appointment April 2017
Went to my biometrics appointment in April 2017
Nothing since then and it is now a total of 15 months later.
Wrote to my Congress in Jan 2018 (they got back to me in Feb 2018 and said they were processing case dates from Nov 2016). I was excited it seemed close.
Now in April 2018 I looked at website https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ and it says it is 10 to 19 months out and they are working on case date of 9/25/16.

by my calculations I won't get an appointment until August/September 2018.

Does anyone know if that sounds right? I don't know who to believe anymore.

Also, Back in 2009 I applied to renew my green card and it took 28 months. Apparently my application got lost in the process. I had to write to my congressman to get things moving along.

Please feedback your experienced on this, if any. Thanks.
