How long after 751 approval is N400 approval- Los Angeles filler
I had combo interview for I 751 and N400on Jan3. The officer approved me verbally, and told me it takes a while for n400 to go through after i751, and i wont get green card. Instead I will have straight oath ceremony, most likely within 15 days. Anyway i got email that night that we have taken action on n400, i don't see any update though, but my i751 got approved one day after, waiting for N400 approval (email/ text) update.

I am not sure if there is anyone still active here who is done with the process, and would be able to answer my question,But I would really appreciate if anyone would let me know how long after i751, does N400 kick in. Thanks so much :)

N400 Philadelphia - USCIS journey is finally over
Hi guys. My USCIS journey is finally over. I had my naturalization ceremony in Philadelphia today. Let me share my experience.
The oath ceremony lasted about 15 minutes with about 30 other people in the room. It was a combined ceremony which we all took at the same time.
I went to apply for my passport immediately after the oath ceremony. I had made an appointment online for the passport application about 10 days before my oath ceremony.
I had my interview in Philadelphia about 2 weeks ago. The interview was done online via video link with a USCIS officer from Ohio field office which explains why my appointment letter came from the Ohio field office. The officer was very nice, the interview lasted about 15 minutes, she just asked me to confirm my name, address, wife's name and how many children I have. And of course the civic test questions and that was it. She said I passed and she will be recommending me for an approval. 45 minutes later I received an email and text confirmation that I had been scheduled for an oath ceremony.
The whole N400 process took about 8 months and 2 weeks.
Best of luck to everyone that are still waiting

Combo 751 and N400 interview -Los Angeles
Today I had my combo interview, and probably the toughest interview I ever had in my life. We were separated and I was grilled for 2 hrs straight , my hubby for 30 mins, which was counter checking my answers. We have known each other for 10 years, and i dont think the officer left anything untouched from the last 10 years ,including a question about which side of the table i sat in the restaurant on our first date , and that was way back in 2011.Literally asked to draw all the places we have lived , and every possible question, including very personal stuff. I am in a good executive position for a healthcare company, and honestly wasnt prepared for this tough interview. Thereafter she had my naturalization interview, and then my husbands interview. Our interview lasted was 2 hr 30 mins. To be honest I was exhausted by then, remembering about things i had never thought of before.

In the end the officer told me that she had approved me for citizenship, will send me email and personal text of approval tomorrow. She said they usually dont send personal texts, but she will do to expedite the oath ceremony. I asked for name change, she suggested me not to do it, otherwise I will have to wait for 1 year since they changed the rules for name change starting Nov 2021. I am not sure if officers send personal texts, but she asked me not to share her info with anyone.

It was a grueling and exhausting experience today to say the least, but cant wait to have the letter in hand tomorrow, as she has promised. I will update accordingly. I cant wait for the entire process to end .

7 YEARS AS A LAWFUL RESIDENCE BEFORE GOT STRANDED OUTSIDE OF US FOR 2 YEARS. N400*** CONFLICT.
7 YEARS AS A LAWFUL RESIDENCE BEFORE GOT STRANDED OUTSIDE OF US FOR 2 YEARS. N400*** CONFLICT.

Hi everyone,

I badly need anyone's advice regarding my problem,
I got my green card 01/23/2012 and I lived here in US ever since except I made some travel to Philippines for mostly 2-3 weeks but unfortunately my last travel was on July of 2019 and got stranded due to covid no fly restrictions and managed to comeback only July 2021.
good thing i did got my self a REENTRY PERMIT before i left.
If I sum up ALL my travel and my stays outside the US up to this day is roughly 3 years.
That makes me 7 years as US residents.
Now commonly uscis allows 5years as LPR to apply for citizenship.
but My problem now is:
1) my green card will expires on 02/09/22 should I just renew it or go on apply for citizenship?

2) since I already have 7 years of being a us resident do i still need to wait for another 400*** days just bcoz i got stuck outside of US for 2 years? (the so called break continuity of residency )

3)If so whats gonna happened to the 7 years that I waited so I can apply for naturalization?

4) do I have to apply for both green card renewal and N400 at the same time? which is more expensive as getting a lawyer.

i hope and thank you for all you can help me. happy new year and god bless you all!

When I was filing taxes I told my tax lady to do married filing separately but she put me as head of household. I recently saw that's what happen and I'm wondering if that's gonna be a problem with immigration, because base on my understanding filing head of household means you're not married and I'm within my 3 years or marriage to a citizen and want to apply for my citizenship
