Is Toronto consulate open on June 18? Anyone got visa appointment cancellation email for tomorrow
I had my appointment for tomorrow but received cancellation email at 3 pm today because of Juneteenth celebration. Has anybody got similar email? I called the immigration office but they said it’s still there. Very unsure what should I do?

Calgary H-1B Stamping Experience
Hi. Just sharing my visa interview experience in Calgary. My emergency visa appointment was approved within one hour after I requested through the website and simultaneously sent an email to [email protected]. The consulate sent me the appointment confirmation email. I was in India when I requested an appointment. I travelled to Canada and did my mandatory 14 day quarantine and attended the interview on June 7th. I am a PR holder.
Visa interview was pretty normal.
This is my H1B renewal and I797 was approved under consular processing (I moved back to India last year, been there since last 6 months).
The VO asked for my passport and I797. Job title, location and description. Asked if I had an MBA (Second masters - CPT Cumberlands). My first Masters (Mechanical). Only yes was my answer, nothing more. He then told me that my Visa was approved.
June 7th - Admin Processing on CEAC. June 10th - Visa status got updated to Issued on CEAC. June 11th - Package received by Canada Post. Since 12th and 13 is a weekend, I got a pick up email from Canada post on 14th.
Travelled to the USA on 15th. Immigration done in Calgary. Just one question - what is the purpose of your visit, checked my H1B and stamped admitted. My final destination is not work location.

H1B visa appointment at Vancouver Consulate
I used to work in the US and I have moved to Canada in Dec'20 on closed Work permit. I got my H1B picked and approved this year and the start date is Oct 1 2021. Can I apply for EA appointment and request for a date in July? as it is recommended to get the H1B stamping done 90 days prior to the official start date. As I am a resident of Vancouver can I email them my offer letter along with the Hydro bills to show the proof of residency? Thank you.

Hi guys, if you have any update with regards to H1B and H4 appointment in June July and August, please post it. Few May appointments were honored at Toronto consulate. Is it same for June and coming months too?

H1B stamping WITHOUT I-797
Wanted to share an update with everyone. In case you have not received I-797 approval notice (H1B) but you have the receipt number and your case has been approved, you do not physically require the original I-797 form for your visa stamping. I got an update from the consulate that as long as they can see that your I-797 has been approved in the PIMS system (Petition Information Management System), you do not physically require the original I-797 form. Hope this is helpful for those in similar situation. Thanks.

Hi all,
I see that a lot of comments talk about expediting a visa interview date. Curious on how can it be done ? Earliest dates that I find over uscos website are starting from April 2022 onwards .
Also how do request an emergency appointment?

Calgary Passport Pickup
Hi. Has anyone attended H1B visa interview in Calgary location recently. My visa status got updated to Issued and yet to get any update on passport pickup or delivery. Can someone guide with the process and what would be the next step. Will they send me a tracking number or document ready for pickup? Thanks!

Tracking regular appointments in July
Hi everyone! Trying to track what the trends are in regards to regular appointments for July. I know of a couple of consulates -Calgary and Toronto- which briefly honoured regular appointments in May and then switched back to only honouring emergency appointments in June.
Has anyone had their regular appointment honoured in May in any other consulate besides Calgary or Toronto?
And is anyone with a booked regular appointment in July either receiving cancellations or confirmations?
If so, could you add your experience below stating which consulate and date please? Thank you!

Expedited Appointment
Hi guys! I applied for an expedited appointment in Calgary on June 7th and haven't heard back yet. How long do they usually take to give a response? and do they give denial or just don't respond if it's not approved. Just wondering how long should I realistically wait to hear back.
