Montreal H1b stamping 1/9/2020
I had my H1b visa interview yesterday at Montreal yesterday(1/9/2020). My appointment was at 12:30 PM. They don't let you in earlier than appointment time. So plan accordingly. The whole process took around 45 minutes. The questions asked by visa officer were the usual ones:
- Asked for employer letter.
- Highest degree obtained
- What kind of work i do.
He said my visa was approved. The status changed to issued at around 11:00 AM local time today(1/10/2020). My passport will be ready for pickup on Monday. Here is where i think i made a mistake with the delivery location. Turns out there is one canada post office(5 RUE DU FORT) in Montreal that is open on Saturdays. But by the time i realized this, it was too late to change. For those who don't want to be struck in canada for the weekend, you may want to check which of the passport delivery locations in the city where you want to pickup your passport is open on Saturdays.

Passport pickup location-Vancouver
Hello,
I have selected 666 Burrard street (BLS services) as the pickup location for the passport. Online however, i cannot find bls at that site. Is there a better/faster place to pick it up from. I'm staying in vancouver downtown.

I work as a data engineer and arrived in the USA in 2014 and received my H1B in the year 2017. But this is the first time I left the USA border for stamping from F1- H1.
VO has asked me for a Resume, which I didn't carry. She has taken my Transcripts of Masters and returned my Passport along with 221G (Yellow color form ) and asked me to email the Current resume.
As they have returned my passport. How many days I cant anticipate after sending my resume today.

Email from US embassay in canada
I got a email from US embassy to bring the following documents to the interview. I am on visitor visa to canada. What did you carry for "Proof of your current immigration status in Canada". Is visitor visa okay?
1.Valid passport, with an expiry date greater than six months
2.DS-160 CEAC confirmation page
3.Proof of your current immigration status in Canada, such as your Canadian PR card, work permit or study permit
etc....

Need some advise
I have been in the same company for 8 years(4 in India, 4 in US)
Did my graduation from India
Now I moved here on l1 and my h1 was picked up in lottery. That time my employer had not filed for green card so I had no I 140, so because my wife would lose job I decided to extend my l1
Now my h1 expires in august. I have my l till July 2020
I am planning to visit any Canada center to get my l1 converted to h1 but the nearest date I am getting for interview is May 23
1) is it a big risk to wait till May 23? Considering my h expires in august and my company will have to file extension
2) any chances of delay in processing? I have stayed at the same address for 4 years in US
3) my company is a stable product company and mostly good reputation but not a big giant name. Any problems there?
In a nutshell, is May 23 too late a date and should I attempt to get it done in India? What all documents do you think I would need in Canada

I recently booked my Visa appointment in Calgary for May 28th,2019 for my H1B extension. However, I realized it would be faster and easier for me to try and get it done earlier in Tuscaloosa, MX. I'm trying to start a new visa appointment group on the Mexican US visa website. However, it's not letting me take the DS160 number as it's already used for appointment in Canada. I understand the fees are non refundable. However, I need to know how I can cancel my application in Canada and start a new one for an appointment in Mexico. Can someone please advice?
