Question on petition number for h1b visa renewal
Hello. My current h1b visa stamp will expire in Feb 2020 and I want to renew the visa in Jan or Feb 2020 in Canada.
While my current i-797 will expire in Apr 2020, the extended i-797 (which has been approved) will start in Apr 2020 and expire in Sep 2022.
My question is, in the DS160, which petition number I should give?
If I give the current I-797 number, will the visa only be renewed to Apr 2020?
If I give the extended I-797 number, it won't start until Apr 2020, will my visa renewal be rejected then?
Should I wait until the expiration date of the current I-797 to renew the visa?

F2 to F1 Ottawa
It is time for me to give back. There are not a lot of experience on F2 to F1 here.
I went to the US embassy Ottawa to get an F1 visa for the first time.
Interview 20th December, 2019
VO: Good Morning
Me: Morning
VO: Can I see your documents?
Me: I passed it (Documents already arranged when you go for fingerprinting)
VO: I can see that you are going for MS in Information Science at University of xxx
Me:Yes
VO:Can I see your transcripts?
Me:I passed my Bachelor's transcript but she thought I had a US Masters already
VO: OK, you had your bachelor's already? In what?
Me: Told her
VO: Are you Married?
Me: Yes
VO: Do you have a child? US Citizen?
Me: Yes to both
VO: So, your husband is in the USA?
Me: Yes, he is a PhD student at xxxx
VO: So, will you be in the same school?
Me: Yes, but he is in the college of Medical sciences
VO: Do you work?
Me: No (I am presently in F2, this question is very tricky. F2 can't work)
VO: Can I see your funding?
Me: I passed my GA appointment letter and account statement from my uncle
VO: She looked at it and said is this person your Uncle? I said Yes and she typed something
VO: can I see a US account statement?
Me: I don't have one
VO: How have you been paying bills in the US if you don't have an account statement?
Me: My husband has been the one paying bills as he earns some salary as a PhD student, I have his pay stubs here if you will like to see it.
VO: She said not to worry. She typed some more. After some mins, she told me she will be approving my visa
VO: (Gave me a green paper), go to the cashier and pay the reciprocity fee. It depends on your country of citizenship, my country is expected to pay $110 for visa issuance.
Me: I paid and went back to her.
VO: Your passport will be ready in 4business days.
Me: Thank you ma'am, happy holidays.
20th - 23rd Dec: Administrative Processing
24-26th Dec :Holidays
27th Dec: Issued. Also, it says your visa is in final processing and if you haven't received your passport in 5days, contact the embassy.
What does this mean? Hass it been sent to the Canada post I indicated?
I hope to get it today as my flight is on Monday.

I filled ds160 for Vancouver but ended up booking visa slot at calgary. I realized I made a mistake in DS160 which I already submitted. What is the best way to update without loosing my visa slot?

Dont see any update after us visa interview
I went to appointment on December 13, 2019 in Vancouver, Canada. the interview went smooth and he didn't give any slip, and the immigration officer told me to expect my passport in 3-5 business days.
I check my status and it's still "Administrative Processing".
Today is Dec 21, 2019 and there is no update about my visa stamping.
I have booked ticket on Jan 05, 2020. Any chance that I can have my passport before my flight? I'm under Canada working permit and apply B1/B2 visitor visa.
