B2 Visa Experience
Thanks for sharing all your experiences. Sharing B2 visa interview experience of my father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Questions were not limited to one person. They were switching between both. So, better prepare both parents.

VO: Why are you travelling to U.S
Father: For visiting. My son-in-law and younger daughter invited us.

VO: Where do other kids stay.
Mother: Younger stays in the U.S and other kids in so and so place.

VO: What do you do. Same question for both
Father: Farming.
Mother: Home Maker

VO: Are you planning to stay for 4 months? (we mentioned this in DS-160)
Father: Since there are many places to visit, we are thinking it might take around 3 to 4 months

VO: Asked H4 visa papers
Mother: Handed over papers.

You can see how they kept rorating question between both. So, better prepare both of them.

As far as I can tell, it's what you put in DS160. So, think before you put it.

Finally, I only see a few success storiesin this thread. I encourage everyone to put success stories too after getting the visa.

B2 Visa Rejected
My mom B2 visa got rejected. She was handed over 214(b) which is basically mention that candidate could not prove/demonstrate strong ties to India.
But VO did not ask for any document. My mother was carrying documents related to property registration.

Background: My dad already has B2 visa (stamped in 2017). My mother went alone this time. She was to travel alone to USA.
I am in USA on H1B visa working as Full time. I provided following documents to mother:
1. Pay slip
2. Employment Letter provided by my company
3. My tax return document
4. Invitation letter to mother and Embassy
5. I-134 Affidavit

Any idea what went wrong? Questions asked by VO:
1> Where are you going in USA.
2> Why are you going to US?
3> What does your son do?

I am thinking to re-apply again in few days. Due to long waiting list, her turn will come in 2 months. Following changes i am going to add in DS-160 form.
1. Traveling with husband and not alone.
2. expenses sponsored by husband.
3. Going to add educational history. (last time i missed to add )

I have my vacation in December and have applied for B2 Visa. I have my cousin's invitation letter. He is on His F1 visa.

Purpose: I want to go visit my cousin, travel Boston and New York, celebrate Christmas with him.

Sponsor: My father will sponsor this trip.

Can you help me and tell m what are my chances of getting B2 Via and things I need to be aware before I go for this interview?

B1/B2 RE-Application
Hello all,

I would like to share my experience last year July. I was denied for a visitors visa.

VO: What is the purpose of your trip?
ME: To celebrate my birthday with my sister in Chicago. ( Strike 1- I think my DS-160 travel time did not match with my birthday month)

VO: How long will you stay?
ME: A month or so. ( Shady because I am currently employed. No one will have a 1 month vacation while employed)

VO: What is the status of you sister?
ME: Green card but the card itself has not arrive. ( Strike 2- She has an H visa and pending for green card. Which I thought she's already approved)

VO: What do you do?
ME: I'm a Head Chef at X and been there for 1yr 7 months ( It's not that long work experience yet)

VO: Have you traveled outside of your country?
ME: Yes, I've been to Hong kong, Macau, Singapore, and the USA ( As a J1)

VO: Where are you staying in the US?
ME: At my sister's place. ( Did not specify address)

VO: Sorry but you're visa has been denied.

Any thoughts?

Me and my 65 year old father will be having our b1/b2 interview this coming Oct. 25,2019. He will be paying for my trip. My father has been in the same company for 40+ years. He has some business on the side and is a Finance manager.

I, perhaps have traveled to Japan and China since the last interview. I have a beach resort that is gonna open this January. Which is one of our purpose for this trip is relaxation before business opens and celebrate Christmas with my sister. Also this time around. I will be mindful of everything I will say and will correct the false statements I have said before.

What do you think are my chances this time around ?

THank you for those who will reply

P: Our younger daughter and son in law
VO: Where are they staying?
P: said the address
VO: what do they do there?
P: Daughter is homemaker and son in law is so and so.
VO: what are you both doing here?
P: We both are retired.
VO: Are you both pensioners?
P: Yes

Visitor Visa for parents - Sponsorship ?
Hi,

My parents are in the process of applying for their b2 visitor visa.

My Background
---------------------
I am in USA with my spouse and kid, for past 6 years on H1B visa. Work for a multinational IT company with salary > $100k.

My Parents Background
--------------------------------
My father is running his own business for more than 30 years now. Currenlty his annual income is around 8 lakhs. My mom is housewife. My brother is single and is working in our family business.

Currently we are applying only for my parents. Both are above 60 years of age. My father has good amount of savings & investments and has more than 1 property on his name.

1) Should my father be sponsoring for himself & my mom ? Or I should do it ?
If self-sponsoring, would 8 lakhs be enough ?
2) What are their chances for getting B2 visitor visa ?

They are planning to visit us for 2-3 weeks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
