Query regarding B1/B2
I am a 22 year old, software engineer working in Hyderabad for a US based MNC(A very good salary) . I have applied for B1 visa for attending a conference and it got rejected under 214b section at Chennai embassy. I am re-applying for B1/B2 for the same conference saying that my father is going to sponsor because in the previous interview I have mentioned that I was sponsoring and I felt that was the reason of rejection. What are the probable questions will be asked and how to answer them. This would be a great help!

Officer: purpose of your visit
Me: I'm attending a tattoo convention and I have been invited by the organisers.

Officer: ok , what convention is this ?
Me: it's a tattoo and artist festival where the best artists in the workd are a part of it.

Officer: what would you do there ?
Me: I want to attend the seminar on hygienic tattooing , which is not organised anywhere else apart from this convention.

Officer : * no expressions typing* you're a tattoo artist ? countries you e been to ?
Me: yes I'm a professional tattoo artist. I've been to Singapore and Thailand.

Officer: * no reply , typing" was both countries for tattoo conventions ?
Me: no mam. It wasn't for tattoo convention.

Interview 2
6th August. With mother for b1/b2 as well

Officer: smiling and fresh greets us., hello good morning
Us: hello mam good morning to you too.

Officer: can I have both the passports please.
Us: sure mam , there you are * slide our passports*

Officer : pointing to mom., how are you related to him
Mother : mam in his mother. He is my younger son

Officer : * smiles and types*. Good , why are you going to USA ?
Mom: for tourism and small vacation.

Officer: smiles. Punting at me. How about you ?
Me: mam I'm accompanying my mom for the trip and also want to attend a tattoo convention.

Officer : great. What convention is it what expo ?
Me: mam it's a tattoo festival and I've been invited to speak on a subject.

Officer : * looks with excitement* great , so what is the speech about ?
Me: I'm going to speak about importance of hygienic tattooing in india.

Officer :ok. How's it different ?
Me: in india the modes and instruments aren't as organised as USA , majority of artists lack the hygiene level. So

Officer : typing ^^. Who is paying for the trip.
Me: it's me mam. I'll. e paying for the trip.

Officer : smiles and types for few seconds and looks at my mom
Looks at me and smiles while typing.

After a minute

Officer. Sorry at this moment I don't find you both eligible for the visa you e applied for. Please read the pamphlet and you can try again. * slides the 214b and passports back ^*

Amazing visa officer , always kept smiling. Never have any sign of authority. Made the procedure very calm.
Maybe it was something that didn't qualify us. But all I can say is , officers are humans. And they do have the conscience and knowledge.

But yes it's all in gods hands. Don't lie , don't fake papers and don't make stories. These officers are good people and trained. Don't play with their instincts or knowledge. Feel sad about the rejection. But it's alright. There's always a next time.

Always be true and be thankful to god. Best wishes

-dad will sponsor me
-have family members who depend on me
-Traveling alone
-own no property

-traveled to Poland, Italy, and Germany this past couple month

Do I have a chance of getting a B1/B2 Visa? Does what I say at the interview have to exactly reflect what I put on the DS-160 form? Thank you in advance!

Visa for siblings graduation cum a mini vacation
Hey guys,

My sister is going to USC for LLM and is expected to graduate next year.

I need some guidance on how exactly should I go about with the application to obtain the visa for the purpose of attending her graduation as well as a mini vacation following that. Also, I'm planning to go solo.

I've got a couple of concerns which is why I'm posting it here on the forum.

1) I'm 20 years old and just entered my last year of Engineering in India I really feel the officer would reject my application thinking I'd stay back since I'd technically be 'unemployed' at the time of my travel.

Question : My parents can't travel since my grandparents are bed-ridden and also somewhat due to financial constraints. But, they might even decide to travel. Can't say for sure right now though. Even if they are not planning to travel, should i make any one of them apply in order to increase my chances of getting the VISA? Also, should I ask my sister to send me a letter as a formal invite?

2) My father's income is about 5L a year. However, we can surely adjust bank deposits upto 10 L or so since we have good amount of shares, government bonds, a couple of properties. But, the later two are in the name of my grandfather.

Question : Should I have the bank deposit of 10 L in my account or dad's account?

3) I've got about $3000 of travel credits from which I can finance my flights, hotels and activities.

Question : When they ask me how I'm going to finance my trip, should I tell them that? Or Should I stick to my dad is going to sponsor my trip?

4) I plan to travel for about a month (mid May'20-June'20) and was thinking about applying around September/October so that I can score flights for a cheaper rate.

Question : When should I apply for the visa? If I apply around the months I'm planning, wouldn't that be some kind of a suspicion?
If I plan to apply in December and they issue it for 6 months, I'll have to cut short my trip to a maximum of 15 days.

Looking forward to responses which could help me out with my dilemma.

Thanks a lot in advance
