I appeared for my H1B visa interview on Dec 2nd, 2014 and was issued a 221g asking for submission of documents such as my resume, research summary, travel itinerary, invitation letter, etc. via email. I submitted the documents the same day, Dec 2nd, 2014. I have a PhD in Pharmacy, and work in R&D, so looks like a TAL case.

I attended the interview with my spouse together in the Toronto Consulate on Nov 14th. I have been asked to submit additional educational documents and I submitted that back by Nov 18th. I got acknowledgement from them for receiving that on Nov 20th.

Got the clearance email on Jan 28th. Since I requested the passports back, I submitted the PP again by Jan 29th. It reached TRT consulate by Jan 30th. The status on the site got changed to Issued on Feb 4th. Now waiting for my passport pickup.. It took 2 and half long months...

Was asked about my highest degree, current job functions and salary in the interview. I was given 221g slip saying additional documents were needed for review. I had all the documents with me, the VO refused to look at the hard copies and mentioned that they could only accept soft copies sent by email. I hold a Ph.D. with materials research background, so possibly a case of TAL. Its been almost 2 months since the interview and still counting days to hear some update from the consulate. No luck yet!
01/30/2015 : Received an email from mumbai consulate to submit my passport on Friday (01/30/2015). I submitted passport with other requested documents yesterday (02/02/2015). Waiting to hear of final approval. Fingers crossed!
02/04/2015 : CEAC status changed to "Issued" this morning. Passport picked up from Mumbai OFC center just before 4:00 pm.

Received White slip and consular requested for the Invitation letter, Resume, Publication list, Purpose, Research, Funding, Itinerary and last 10 years of travel history.Submitted the requested docs via email on 30th December and immediately received an automated reply acknowledging the receipt of documents. Since then, I was checking my case status using the case number on daily basis but case never got updated and cont[nue to show Case Creation Date: 12/23/2014 and Case Update Date: 12/24/2014. President Obama came and went back back but nothing happened. Surprisingly, on Jan 30th 2014, I saw case updated but still in AP. On Feb 3rd luckily the case status was updated to issued. I am waiting for my passport now.

My petition was approved in 2013 and I couldn't go for stamping due to some problems. Now, I am interested to go US but I don't have latest offer letter from employer. I went interview with old offer letter. I had h1b visa interview at Chennai yesterday(2-2-2015).In my interview near my window lot of noise and sounds are disturbing me . two questions were not understand properly due to noise and I asked the VO "Sorry please repeat". apart from that interview was good. after that called by indian lady and asked same questions and also asked " why you couldnt answer properly with VO oficer". i said about the noice. she took all my docs and returned passport . and gave 221 g with checked "Adminstrative process" option. friends, any idea why i got this?
