I'm doing a Family Based- I485 from my F1-OPT status. Filing from New York City --still waiting for interview at this stage. Here's my timeline so far:

- February 2020: Application received

- April 2020: Received an RFE for new translation for Birth Certificate
- June 2020: Submitted a change of address request
- August 2020: Fingerprint Appointment (notice was still sent to the old address --thank goodness for mail forwarding)
- August 2020: Received EAD card (at the new address)
- September 2020: Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview

That's that.
Submitted several inquiries since October to no concrete response. Tried getting a representative to no result either.

I-485 Family Based AOS - Baltimore
Hello everyone, I've been browsing this forum for a few years now, and today I finally decided to share my experience. My wife is a US citizen, we married in July 2019. I've been in the US since 2009, came here on F-1 Visa, changed to H-1B, and finally applied for I-485 in August 2019. My timeline is below:

August 30, 2019 PD
October 2019 Biometrics
November 2019 EAD/Travel Combo Card Arrived
November 2019 'Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview'
December 2020 'Interview was Scheduled'
Jan 11 Interview
Jan 11 2021 'New Card is being Produced'

Interview was this morning, January 11th at the USCIS Baltimore field office. We spent all week last week and this weekend preparing, going over our forms, quizzing each other on the most minute details and ensuring we had every document we could think of.

We were in and out in 15 minutes. We were very well prepared with copies of all of our joint assets and liabilities, photos from trips, flight tickets, address and employment proof, phone bills etc. I also took my sealed I-693 with us to the interview. Our lawyer joined us for this interview.

My case was also a little complicated because I was arrested for a DUI in the past, 7+ years ago. While I was given probation, I noted this on my forms and the officer asked about it in the interview. I explained it to him, and he mentioned that because there have been no other incidents and because I was earnest in my explanation, that he would not hold that against me. We had provided all the relevant documentation and also provided an affidavit (on my lawyers advice) with the application - I think this was really helpful.

He just asked a few more questions to my wife and I, he asked her my parents names, and he asked me her parents names. After that he asked us if we had any questions, to which we asked if he would approve us, he said that he has no reason not to. He mentioned that provided the background check comes in clean (barring the DUI) he would approve us right away.

By the time we reached home an hour later, the status on USCIS website was already updated to 'New Card Being Produced.'

So relieved, and grateful. Looking forward to receiving my GC in the mail. I wish everyone good luck for their interviews and applications. The wait can be pretty long sometimes but ultimately if you are well prepared you should have nothing to fear.

Uscis officer called to sign i485
Today, I received a call from an Adjudicating officer and he also emailed me .
Good morning Mrs. Justin;

This is Officer K A. L. I am contacting you to see if you can come into the office to provide a signature on your Form I-485 which is missing. If you can email me back when you would be available to come in and sign your form I can finalize the application soon thereafter. Thank you very much.

Sincerely;

K A. L, ISO2
USCIS.

I went there and signed it.
My interview was 19 months ago
And after 2 months I got 1601 for rfe for a mistake that o made in the application.
I sent everything including my husband has diabetes
My husband is not working due his health and Covid-19
My kids school registration
Our mortgage paper
Letter from family and friends

I also have a pending asylum for 8 years.

Now do you think
That's the final since he call me to come sign the i485?

During and after interview
I like to know if anyone has a similar experience and the outcome of it.

I was interviewed with my husband late last December 2020, we had a smooth one even though we were separated during the interview.

I was handed a form that states some pledges to American nation. Pledges like, "I won't do anything that hurts America", I won't sell drugs". Etc. Which my initials was instructed to be appended on and then signature.

I was also requested to send my husband's original birth certificate.

Please anybody has an idea what these could imply?
