I submitted i751 petition on January 2019 and I am really frustrated by looking at the processing time.. Today I checked online and it is showing processing time as 22-49 months.. people who applied in 2020 are getting there case approved but why not me??? I have not visited my home country from 4 years..
Can someone give me suggestion what I can do in this situation and is there any process where I can expidate??
I am posting my journey, not to brag about it but to give light and hope to everyone who has been in the same boat as me. After 2 years and 1 month, I finally got my 10 year green card. It has been a long journey and like everyone else, I was so stressed out and was thinking about what happened to my own. Here is the timeline of my process:
June 03, 2019 - Submitted I-751 documents (WAC **** **** **)
June 07, 2019 - USCIS received documents
June 21, 2019 - I-757 Extension received (18 months extension)
December 19, 2019 - Received biometrics appointment letter
January 2, 2020 - Biometrics appointment taken at USCIS office (San Francisco, CA)
January 3, 2020 - Biometrics applied to the case
*** Decided to file my N-400 (citizenship) ***
June 3, 2020 - Submitted online application for N-400 Naturalization (IOE **** **** **)
June 4, 2020 - Received an email that USCIS is reviewing my application for N-400
*** I think my N-400 triggered something for both my applications (I-751 and N-400),
August 21, 2020 - Case is being transferred to another office (I-751)
December 14, 2020 - Old fingerprint was applied (because of COVID19, I guess) for N-400 application
*** My 18 months extension is coming to an end ***
January 12, 2021 - Called USCIS to schedule an appointment for an INFOPASS I-551 stamp. Received an email that they will call me for an appointment day.
January 28, 2021 - USCIS called back to set the appointment for INFOPASS stamp I-551, scheduled for Feb-9-2021
February 9, 2021 - Info pass stamp done at San Francisco Office. USCIS stamped my passport and LPR extended until 02-08-2022
June 8, 2021 - We sent a request for initial evidence for your Form I-751. (***my case was pending for almost two years now, so I am not surprised they will send me this notice)
July 1, 2021 - Sent RFE through USPS (overnight shipping)
July 6, 2021 - We received your response to our Request for Evidence for I-751
July 20, 2021 - Received letter in the mail. Notice of Action : USCIS approved to remove the condition on your permanent resident status.
July 23, 2021 - Card was picked up by the United States Postal Service.
*** Now I'm going to wait for the N-400 process
I just want to shed some light to everyone to hang tight. Everything will be alright. DO NOT LOSE the hope and trust the process, and include some prayers too. You all are already strong and I am sure that your time will be coming soon. Take it from someone who waited two years and a month. Hang tight everyone! Hang tight!

Very excited to report that I have received my 10-year GC in the mail today! Conditional GC was based on marriage to a USC (joint filing). We filled out the application and gathered evidence ourselves with help of this forum and Google (no lawyer). Case was processed in Lincoln (LIN**).
Here's my timeline:
Nov 16, 2020: package sent
Nov 20, 2020: USPS delivered to PHX lockbox
A month passed by: Crickets...Called and emailed USCIS to confirm they received my application.. no confirmation, was told to wait. no response from lockboxsupport @ uscis. dhs. gov
Jan 7, 2021 (3 days before GC expiration): a USCIS agent confirmed they just processed my application (at receiving) and gave me the receipt # on the phone. Extension letter was in the mail. I had another application packet ready to be mailed in case I didn't get a receipt # by Jan 8, 2021.
Jan 11, 2021: received 797 NOA with 18 month extension
May 28, 2021: applied fingerprints
July 15, 2021: we ordered a new card
July 16, 2021: i751 approved
July 19, 2021: post office picked up my card. Tracking # was available on case tracker
July 21, 2021: received the card in the mail today!!!
I got the GC in 8 months and 6 days of sending the application. I'm pretty lucky to have received it so quickly. It did get stressful in December and January when I didn't have a case #. I know lots of people were on the same boat but I couldn't help but worry that somehow my application was misplaced/delivered incorrectly.
Here are the documents we sent (arranged in this order):
- Cover Letter
- G1145 form (e-notification) -- useless! i got no electronic notifications about my case
- Hand filled I-751
- Copy of conditional GC
- Evidence of relationship:
-> Birth certificate of our son. He was born after I got the conditional GC was he was a key piece of evidence to prove our relationship :-)
-> Mortgage contract and homeowner insurance shows joint ownership
-> Income tax documents for 2018 and 2019 (new tax docs since I got conditional GC)
-> 3 month bank statement for joint checking account
-> Vehicle lease agreement showing joint lease
-> Auto insurance showing joint insurance
-> Spouse beneficiary in life insurance, 401k, HSA, and stock accounts
-> Joint travel itineraries/vacations since I got conditional GC
-> Lots of photos taken in the last two years with friends and family
Excited about filing for citizenship in 3 months!!
I wanted to check if anyone from California who filed around Jan 2021 , heard any update. Its been around 6 months, I was hoping to see at-least a biometrics appointment but nothing so far. Would really appreciate if any folks filing from california could share their experience and wait time/timeline.
Hi all,
I got my biometric in mail while my online status still says case was received. This can create lots of problem specially when/if it comes to interview and scheduling appointment. Is there anyone else with a not updated status? Do they ever go back and update it? Thanks
