Family-based final action dates for F2A have retrograded by 2 years and 11 months. This means that the priority date for F2A visas has moved back 2 years and 11 months. This is due to the fact that there are more applicants for F2A visas than there are available visas. EB1 India has retrograded by 10 years and 1 month. This means that the priority date for EB1 visas for India has moved back 10 years and 1 month. This is due to the fact that there are more applicants for EB1 visas for India than there are available visas. The reason for the retrograded dates in both of these categories is that the number of available visas is capped. This means that there is a limited number of visas that can be issued each year. When there are more applicants than available visas, the priority dates will retrograde.
The following August 2023 visa bulletin was released by the U.S. Department of State. The dates in the visa bulletin represent the earliest priority date that will be processed during the month the visa bulletin is issued. Certain high demand countries, such as China (Mainland born), India, Mexico, and Philippines have a much longer wait time compared to the rest of the world (ROW).
