My B1 Interview is scheduled Next week.
My Visa was rejected long back in 2011.
I have mentioned the Same in Ds160 and reason as 214b

This time I am quite more prepared because of the confidence from this site.

I have a small clarification.

I have long hairs being a Guy and dont leave it open, but Tie it in professional Way.
Does Having long hair might be a cause for rejection? As people tell physical Appearance Matter a lot.

Any information is really helpful for me. Thanks in advance.

VO: Two months????!!!!!What will you do there for 2 months?
Me: Initial meeting will be with each division followed by whole group meeting at the end to workout the long term future plans so this will take time. Though my part will be over within 1 and 1/2 month just to avoid travel within short span of time company want to manage all at once.

VO: How long are you working with this employer
Me: 7 Years

VO: Have you ever traveled outside India?
Me: No

VO: Typed something for 2 minutes and asked me for left hand finger prints. Then he said "sorry I can't give you the visa". He returned my PP with the 214B form
Me: Murmured ok and left

Just for info VO did not ask for any documents, invitation letter.I was like lost everything! Can any one tell me what is the chances of getting visa in next appearance? Not sure what the feedback officer had noted for me! Is it going to impact getting visa in the future? How long should I wait before re-applying?

Thanks

B1 Visa Approved
Hi - I am glad to write to my experience about my B1 visa which was approved on Aug 21 2014. I had my visa interview at 7.30AM.
Interview questions:

I wished confidently, Good Morning Officer
VO: Good Morning

VO: Which company you work for?
Ans : ZZZ

VO: What visa type you are applying?
Ans : B1

VO: Oh you have travelled earlier to US on L1B?
Ans : Yes

VO: What is the purpose of this visit?
Ans : I am going to attend business meetings

VO: How many days you will be in US?
Ans: Exactly 1 month

VO: What places you will be visiting in US?
Ans : YYYY & ZZZ

The officer looked at the computer & after few seconds he informed me that my visa has been approved & I will be receiving the passport in next 1-2 days. I am very happy & said thank you.

Pray the God, Be confident & be short in your answers that explains the purpose as a whole. All the very best to all of you going to interview in the future.

B1 visa approved
Thanks immihelp. I had my interviews on Sep 16, 2014 and before attending the interviews, I went through almost all the interview questions that were posted in immihelp. Thanks to everyone who have posted their experiences and I think the interview questions given in immihelp is so exhaustive that there are very less chances that the Visa officer can ask something outside this.

Following are some of my suggestions for someone attending the B1 interviews:
1) Go through the FAQ and all the interview questions posted in immihelp.
2) Prepare a one-liner answer and practice how to deliver it. For Ex: I was asked - "what does your company do". Now I can talk about this for more time but that is not important for this interview. You need to prepare how to tell this in one or two sentences. The Visa officer will get confused if you tell more and you will get more cross questions. For this question, I had prepared 2 small sentences. The Visa officer did not even let me to go ahead with the second statement. So be fully prepared what to answer for the questions. And, as I mentioned earlier there are very less chances that the Visa officer can ask something very different than the questions given in this website. (So, you know the questions already and it is just that you need to prepare the right answers :-) )
3) I have seen comments like we need to wear tie etc.., I think its not required since in my batch I saw just 1 or 2 guys (out of some 500 people) wearing ties. I just suggest you to go in formal. That should suffice.
4) Hear the questions very carefully and then answer. The Visa Officer has got a mike and hence we can hear clearly what they are asking.
5) Whatever you say, say it slowly. Since in my case, whatever I was saying he was typing it. Even though I was slow, he asked to me to go still more slowly. So, listen the question carefully and then answer slowly. Easier said than done :-)... the ambience was such that I was tensed but once I started speaking with the visa officer, I bought myself to normal.
6) Whatever you have mentioned in the DS-160 form, remember and practice the answers since they will check sometimes that you know what you have written in the DS-160 form.

The questions that were asked to me were:
- Where are you going in US.
- Why are you going.
- What does your company do.
- Is it your client place or branch.
- What is your annual income in rupees.
- What is your designation.

So, you can see there is nothing special questions that were asked to me other than already mentioned in this website :-)

And my visa got approved.

So the key thing is go fully prepared and you will definitely get through.

Good luck to everyone who are attending the interviews.

US B1 Visa experience at New Delhi Consulate
Thanks to Immihelp for a lot of guidance on how to answer B1 Visa questions. I went in for the 10 AM morning slot of visa interview. While waiting in the queue observed the interviewers in all the counters and the questions they were asking. Some were all jolly and nice while some seemed to be in a critical mode. Prayed that I go to one of the nice ones and not the strict lady in one of the counters. When my turn came the assistants told me to go to the first counter where a strict middle aged guy was taking another interview of a couple in Hindi which he rejected. I was next....

VO: Good Morning! How are you doing?
Me: Good Morning Sir! I am great! Thank you! How are you? (Handed over passport)

VO: So have you travelled before?
Me: No Sir I have not travelled.

VO: What are you going there for?
Me: Going for training on new tools and processes and discussions post that.

VO: So are you playing a supervisory role?
Me: Yes Sir... I am playing a supervisory role in our New Delhi office

VO: How many people are you supervising?
Me: Sir I am supervising 4-5 people on a daily basis

VO: So you're working at this company
Me: Yes

VO: How long are you working there:
Me: Sir I am working for 3 Years and 4 Months now!

VO: So describe to me what is this training about?
Me: Described about the training and the tool

VO: What is your designation in the company?
Me: Answered

VO: Whoa! slow down! that is too complex. Explain what are you doing in the company
Me; Explained about my role and work I do in brief

VO: So are you a programmer or a coder?
Me: No Sir! I am into business research and market analytics... its more of a market research profile

Asked me to place my left hand on the biometric... Check his screen with a weird look... punched something in there.... then started talking to some other colleague for a minute while I was waiting with my heart in my mouth... and then after a pause

Your Visa is approved...
Me: Thanks a lot Sir!

and ran away....

So some of the things that play a critical role accoding to me are:

Being in a formal and business attire
Speaking confidently looking in the eyes of the Interviewer
Choice of words when explaining role and purpose of visit
Tenure withing the firm
