Unhappy applying for b1 after f2 rejection twice three years back. Please help me
Hi i have applied for f1 student visa in 2011 april and may twice and was rejected and gave me a 214 b slip and advised me to do my research better and come back. I have lost hopes and never bother to apply again, however fortunately after three years my company is applying b1 for me for 3 mnths. am ok to go for the interview but the only problem was when i applied for f1 i stated i was wrking for some software company which i never worked and at that time i was working for the same company thats sending me now so am scared and nervous. i know it was due to bcoz of consultancy ppl advise i took fake experience but they never doubted that but now that i am going to apply for b1 and i will mention that i am working for this company. can some one please help me and explain how to answer and go abt it. will they cross check my previous rejections and also go and check at that time wat was company i was working for? please help and reply fast as i have an interview this week and scared to death abt this. wat can i do to improve my chances or will they caught me? please reply me as much as infrmatio possible apart from me praying thanks

B1 Visa in less than a minute
Hi,
First of all, a BIG thanks to immihelp and all people who took some time out of their busy life to post their experiences here. Trust me, its a big thing for aspirants to live the experience shared through these posts. They are undoubtedly very invaluable.
I was mentally prepared well for my visa interview scheduled, thanks again to the posts here. I had my interview on 05th Mar, 2014. It was schedule for 09:30 AM IST. I reached Consulate at 09:15 AM. What a big crowd outside !! On enquiring, got to know that people who had interview scheduled for 09:00 AM were also waiting for their turn to go inside. Somehow managed to get thru' by 09:45 AM. After series of Security Checks, i managed to see my token on LED screens.
But the moment i saw my number, my heartbeat became abnormal. It was racing. Adrenaline hormone seemed to have been released in body in more than ample quantity. But i took courage from all the posts from here and tried (desperately) to appear normal. Maintaining a smile was tougher than anticipated. My Black trouser, black blazer with white shirt and black printed tie was certainly giving me confidence.
Finally, my turn came. I had gotten a bit more nervous after the couple before me were taken away by VFS people at the request of VO. Chances for getting visa seemed as distant as US from India. Gathered all my courage and reached the window.
Me: Good Morning Officer
VO: (ignored my greeting and extended his hand) Passport please.
I gave both my passport; VO returned the old passport without looking
VO: Which Company do you work for?
ME: XYZ India Pvt. Ltd.
VO: Why you want to go to US?
ME: For Business Meetings & Discussion
VO: In which State?
ME: California
VO: For how long?
ME: 2 weeks.
VO: Your Visa application is APPROVED. Have a safe journey and have fun in US.
ME: Thank you officer. Good Day !
VO: (nodding his head) You too sir.
Phew !! Finally done in less than a minute. What a feeling !
Important points worth noting:
1. Be(appear) confident (even if jittery inside)
2. Please wear formals (Blazer,tie, suit optional). Its good for your own confidence.
3. Maintain eye contact with VO, ALWAYS.
4. Even if you cant smile, please maintain a calm & normal posture.
5. Keep docs handy even though they might not be ever asked for. I saw couple of guys being asked for few docs.
6. Don't react even if VO is not courteous or ignores your greetings (i owe this to immihelp and all people, again). Be prepared for it.

Please dont come to the inverview not more than 15 mins before your interview time. Its of no use, you will have to just wait in a long queue.

Got B1 in Delhi in 1st Attempt.
Thanks a lot to Immihelp and all the users who shared their experienced.
My interview was on 02/25 at 11:00 AM.
It was a great exp. VO asked me only 4 questions.
1- What is the purpose of travel
2- where will you go
3- what is the duration of visit
4- briefly describe your project and client.
and then golden words came out....
your VISA has been approved.... i didn't give any chance to say anything to him...
I said thanks and run away immediately....
Also i went through some EXP here and created a word file.. so i am sharing all question here in my post.
Keep this things in mind-
1- Don’t loose eye contact. Make eye contact.
2- Don’t speak a loud as there are sensors and they can hear normal voice very clearly.
3- Keep Confidence on face.

I had OFC on 20/2/2014 - I joined in queue but they didn't let me in. !!!. Place of birth was wrong in my DS160 and they asked me to correct it and come back in 1 hour. Guys, its easy, There are so many auto wala to catch you with eagle eyes. go to a nearest internet cafe and correct your DS160 particulars and take a print. I have completed my correction process in 15 minutes and came back to OFC building and they allowed me in.
Consulate interview on 21/02/2014. VO is a serious man in his 50's.
VO: Pass your Passport.
ME: Good Morning sir..
VO: Why you want to go to US?
ME: Business meetings and requirement gathering.
VO: Duration of visit ?(I didnt hear and asked to repeat question)
ME: 4 Weeks.
VO: Why do you need 4 Weeks for meetings?
ME: Explained my weekly schedule.

Rest depends on your luck. One very important thing is the reason you are going for matters a lot.
For b1 they have some basic criteria to judge a person. For e.g. you sohuld have a good reason to go, how long you are working with current company, annual income, family attachment etc.
