Canada visitor visa process experience
I would like to share my experience about obtaining Canada visitor visa from USA:

May 19 - Registered on the CIC portal using GC Key to fill the online application

May 22 - Submitted the application form with all the necessary attachments and paid the fees

May 23 - Obtained Biometrics Collection Letter in CIC portal

May 23 - Booked appointment online to provide biometrics at USCIS ASC - the earliest appointment slot was for 2 weeks later

June 7 - Visited USCIS office and gave biometrics (make sure you take your USCIS appointment scheduler letter as well)

June 7 - On the same day, Biometrics details got updated in the CIC portal

June 13 - Obtained the Biometrics Correspondence Letter and Original Passport Request Letter

June 13 - Printed the required documents - Original Passport Request Letter, Consent form (very important - check VFS Canada website to download Consent form and sign)

June 14 - Drove to NYC VAC office near Times Square and submitted the passport with the documents, paid $19.90 with card and provided return envelope with USPS shipping label

June 14 - Same day received email with tracking ID saying the visa application is dispatched to IRCC office; The VFS tracking website also showed the same status

June 17 - Received email that visa application is under process at IRCC office

June 17 - Received another email " Your processed decision envelope has been dispatched from the IRCC Office to the Canada VAC in USA, NY"

June 17 - Checked the CIC portal - status shown as 'A final decision has been made' and displayed the document status with expiry date (indicating visa is approved)

June 18 - Received email "An envelope of your decision that has been processed has been sent from the IRCC office to the Canadian Application Centre,NY"

June 18 - Received another email "Your processed decision envelope has been collected from the Canada VAC in Canada VAC, NY"

June 18 - USPS tracking number got activated (passport was dispatched)

June 19 - Received Passport with Canada visa stamp - multiple entry with visa expiry date of 1 day before passport expiry date

The entire process took almost a month for me. So, if you wish to apply through online, it is advised to plan in advance and apply accordingly.

Submitting Passport for Canada visa as late or close to Expiry
Hi, From Pakistan it took 65 days from Bio-matrix to receiving email of Passport Request Letter. But just tomorrow on 21 Jun, i am leaving for USA for 25 Days.. plz assist if I submit passport (including my all family) on returning as 4 days earlier - as their given days of expiry as 30 days, will it safe?

Again, I received Passport Submit email on Jun 19 and I will submit it now on July 15, just 4 days (all working days) ahead of expiry allowed as written in email. Anyone has the same experience? please share.

Hi everyone
I received my passport request on June 6, and I sent it to the VAC on June 14, since then I haven't received any letter of acknowledgement from the VAC. Am a bit unsettled about this. Also how long will it take to get to the Embassy for further process.

Urgent Contact Method
Hi all,
So I received my passport request last Sunday, and I mailed out everything on Tuesday, it reached their Wednesday morning, after that no communication from the VFS. I need to travel to Canada for a conference in the next 5 days, is there a way to contact them? Their chat system is not that helpful.

Suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

Canada Visitor Visa processing delayed beyond defined processing times
I have applied for Canada visitor visa from the US. After the status was updated online on 5/22 that the case has been received, there is no update until today (22nd day). My biometrics is completed already and the final decision is pending.

I hear from my peers that they received an email to send passport to VAC in the same week they submitted the application. My case is pending for 3 weeks and still I have not received the email to send passport.

Does this delay mean the case is highly going to be rejected?

My current status is under a non-immigrant visa (L1). Can this be a reason for denial?

Anyone experiencing this situation now OR have faced the same in the recent past? Any help/insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Canada Visa-Passport request
Hi All,
So I got my passport request letter 10 days after my Biometeric.
I had a few questions...
1. Do we have to pay the $19.90 transmission fee (money order), even if we have paid for Biometric.

2. What address does this fee go to?

3. Can someone explain me the return label part, which we have to send them?

Thanks

Filling out VAC consent form
I received my passport request letter after 2 weeks of biometrics appt.

In the VAC consent forms do I just need to sign only page 2? What about pages 3 and 4, leave them blank? Thanks!

Hi All,

I would love to hear your suggestions on this,

I together with my mother and aunty applied for visitor visa for Canadia for 2 weeks stay. I've submitted all the forms accordingly and receive a reply that my mothers and aunt's application was approved however mine was rejected due to does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR)

resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and
in your country of residence.

 • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary
resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and
financial status.

 • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temp

I've been to Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines and came back to my country.

I've provided my financial statement and personal assets

May I ask what can the reason for this application to be rejected?
