285 days without any update on EAD contacted Ombudsman and got this
This is reply i got from
Ombudsman after filing for help yesterday. How long it takes for them to check on my case usually????

Dear Sir or Madam,

The Ombudsman's Office has reviewed your request for case assistance and contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding your application/petition.

We will notify you when we receive information from USCIS.

Please note that if the petitioner or applicant changes mailing address, the individual will need to notify USCIS. The individual will need to complete both the Form AR-11 and contact USCIS to update the mailing address for each pending application or petition. USCIS offers an Online Change of Address system that allows the individual to complete both steps electronically: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do. For more information, please see USCIS' website on Online Change of Address Information, which can be found at https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange. You will need the receipt numbers for all pending applications or petitions.

If your circumstances change, you may contact us at [email protected] and reference your nine-digit case inquiry number.

Sincerely,

Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

Pending status - PD passed
Hi, I just called to USCIS to check the status of my EAD (L2 dependent). They have told me they are already processing the applications of Apr 7th. My application was date as of Apr 5th but the system still says pending. The guy from USCIS did not know what could have happened... have you had that experience? I have raised a ticket to look at why the status is still pending but it might take over a month till they reply back. Do you know if even the current processing dates are Apr 7th can they still processing Apr 5th applications?
Thanks

Long time
Please help you guys. I submitted my work permit 274 days ago to nBC based on marriage. Until now, I have no news and last update is still “my fingerprint review was conplete”.

I filed an inquiry around the case over 30 days ago, and the inquiry is not even assigned for a person to look at it. I tried chatting with USCIS live and the result I got was:

“After further research, it appears you will need to speak with a higher level representative to resolve your issue.”

What is going on? Is this normal?! Why is my application being ignored?

Can I apply from India for EAD after L2 Visa is approved
Hi,
I will be moving to Chicago on L2 Visa and want to start applying for work there. I have read across forums that current trend to get EAD is around 5-6 months. So Can I apply while I am in India . I will provide my spouse Office address as delivery for card .
Any inputs will be helpful

Card Received
Alright, I'm posting this as a PSA to everyone just in case you find yourself in this situation.

Timeline for EAD processed at NBC

PD - 3/19/2019
Painful silence on case
SR- 8/18
Card Being Produced - 8/26
Card Mailed - 8/29
Card picked up by USPS and tracking # given - 8/30

Here's where the story gets funky. 8/31 (a Saturday) the card was attempted to be delivered at a location that wasn't my address, but ultimately it was unable to be delivered. USPS said it would try again on the next business day.

Card "Delivered" - 9/3

The tracking info said that it was delivered to Washington DC, (Zip Code that is not mine). There was no street address listed, just the city, state and zip. With the Zip not matching our address, I began to think that the card was delivered to a USPS location and that my husband would need to go pick it up.

I tried calling the USPS location in that Zip Code...no answer. Tried calling customer service...nothing resulted from this besides frustration and tears.

I went to a USPS location and gave them the tracking number and asked that they tell me the address it was delivered to and that I would go pick it up. I kept getting the run around that it wasn't at the USPS location for the zip code I gave them, and they didn't have the street address that it was delivered to, they had no more information that I did etc.

So I'm standing at USPS nearly in tears, voice shaking, mind racing thinking that it's gonna be loaded back on a truck and sent back to USCIS...thinking that my Husband is gonna have to wait even longer for the card and continue to be unable to work

...Then it dawns on me to contact our Attorney's office...I look up their phone number, and when I do, I see that the Zip Code listed for their office is the same zip code that the card said it was delivered to.

Get the attorney on the phone and I'm informed that they have it and we can come pick it up anytime.

Key points to this story

1. If your card says it's delivered and you don't have it....contact your attorney

2. Don't waste your time trying to call USPS customer service...it's just an automated machine that gives you ZERO information...better to go to a physical location

3. Feel your feelings. Let yourself be stressed, frustrated, irate, jealous, cheated, exhausted etc. You need to experience all of those things to be able to properly feel the euphoria of seeing your card (or your significant other's) in your hand.

Good luck to everyone! And in case somehow the US Postal worker that I made a scene in front of is reading this... I'm sorry lol

Finally!!
So I read on here that someone checked thier case status around 6:00 am so I decided to try and see if that worked for me and low and behold we had an update "Card is now being Produced". I woke my husband up out of his sleep and we both started screaming. Wow I'm just so thankful that finally things are starting to working in our favor. God is so good!

I've put my timeline but here it is again-Dallas Filer-NBC

PD 3/22/19
BIO 4/15/2019
RFE 6/21/19
READY TO SCHEDULED 6/27/2019

EXPEDITE EVIDENCE SENT 8/21/2019
SR 8/21/2019
EXPEDITE REQ ASSIGNED TO OFFICER 8/27/2019
