J2 EAD renewal
Hi all,

I'm renewing my J2 EAD

- Application submitted January 20th

- RFE end of March

- Response to RFE received by USCIS on April 2nd

No news since then, when do you think we can expect to receive an update ? It has been more than 60 days now since they received the response to RFE, should i file a service request ?

I already lost my job :(

Thanks for your help

EAD Approved after 341 days of waiting
My case is finally resolved, and and this forum has been very helpful and giving me hope.

I have filed my case on June 23rd, 2019. In February, my case was outside of the processing time. I have filed service request immediately, but, unfortunately there was no response. I have filed 4 service requests in total to which I never got a response to.

On April 11th, I reached out to the Congressman Office for assistance, and they made a request to the CIS Ombudsman's Office.

On April 15th, I received an email from the Ombudsman, stating "the office has reviewed your request for case assistance and contacted USCIS regarding your application/petition."

On May 6th, the CIS Ombudsman's Office received a response from the USCIS, stating that my case is under active review; however, they are unable to provide specific timeline.

On May 15th, the CIS Ombudsman's Office sent a follow-up inquiry to the USCIS.

On May 29th, my case status got finally changed to "card is being produced."

On June 2nd, my case status changed to "case is approved."'

It has been very frustrating and long process, but I hope all delayed cases will be resolved as soon as possible.

EAD Approved! Why are SS cards taking so long?
My wife's EAD was approved last week! (PD 12/23; RFE (birth certificate, even though we already sent one) 2/15; Answer received 3/5; Case ready to be scheduled for interview - Tampa (4/20); EAD approved 5/29; Card mailed 6/1)

It seems like many people have been having issues with getting their social security cards. Has anyone received his/hers shortly after receiving the EAD? Any idea about the slowdown (offices closed due to COVID-19)?
