L2 EAD experience
I want to share my experience on L2 EAD as I got help by reading this forum.I received EAD within one month.
Paper filing is faster so I had sent the following documents and covering letter:
- Filing fee $380
- I-765 form
- L1 approval notice
- Copy of Passport of L1 and L2
- Copy of I-94
- Two photographs
- Copy of SSN
- Copy of marriage certificate
- G 1145 form

The dates of my EAD process:

Application received date:7th March 2013
Acceptance email:12th March 2013
i797C notice received in mail:15th March 2013
Approval notice sent:29th March 2013
Card production ordered:29th March 2013
EAD card mailed:2nd April 2013
Approval notice received in mail:3rd March 2013
EAD card received in mail:4th April 2013

The post from Gajendra Prasad P Sankaranarayana was extremely beneficial and it helped me get my EAD in about a month just before my employment termination date of Nov 9, 2012.

Here are the dates for my EAD (based on AOS) process -
Oct 1,2012: Received date
Oct 4,2012: Notice date
Oct 10,2012: Received all the three receipts
Oct 13, 2012: Received Biometrics appt letter for Oct 29th,2012
Oct 17, 2012: Walked in for Biometrics & called to expediate EAD
Oct 20,2012: Rejection letter to expediate EAD received
Oct 24, 2012: Infopass appointment
Oct 25, 2012: Online case status changed to "Card Production"
Oct 30, 2012: Online case status changed again to same status
Nov 1,2012: Approval letter for EAD issued
Nov 6: Received the EAD approval letter as well as the EAD

One Stop for L2 EAD
T apply for EAD for L2 follow these steps
1. Go to the 7USCIS official site and download the forms I 765, G 1145,and the instruction for filling the I 765 all the three are available together.Fill out the forms by following the instructions.
2.get the copies of the following:-
a.Marriage certificate
b.copy of the I94 and the first and last pages of the passsport of the L1 and the L2.
c.Copy of the L2 SSN
d.Copy of the L1 petition
e. Covering letter(sample is available on redbus.com.) its just a covering letter stating all the forms and copies attached.
 f. The cheque of$380 do check the current rate when you apply. The check or cheque should be in the order of U S Department of Homeland Security.
The address to send will depend on where you stay and will be given on the instructions to fill I765 form.

i had mailed my forms by the express mail coz i heard that the online filing would take long and it proved right coz

I have got my EAD in a little over a month.

How to expedite EAD case
Hi,

USCIS received my EAD application on 20-apr-2012. My Case status was Initial review for 96 days. On 90th day, i called customer call center. On 96th day, my case went into RFE. On 8th august,USCIS changed it to RFE response review. I have waited a lot for my EAD.I also contacted congressman but it didnt help. Please suggest what can i do to expediate my case. My case is with Vermont center.

EAD renewal not received yet
Hi ,

I have applied for my EAD renewal

EAD renewal date - 15/Mar/2012
Biometric date - 17/Apr/2012
RFE notice date - 21/May/2012
USICS received document on - 31/May/2012 .

Now currently its under the status -Request for Evidence Response Review since 31/May/2012

I want to know if when i can expect the approval as my new job start date is 02/Jul/2012 . Hardly 10 days are left . When can i expect the decision on my case ? What should the best i can do to speed up the case as i have very less time ?
A. Infopass appointment for Interim EAD as its already 90 days since applied my EAD.
OR
B. Should i call customer service of USCIS to expedite my case ?

Please advice if someone has experience with the same .

I am curious to know one thing...

I am Homemaker on L2 visa dependent on L1 Visa (My spouse)
I want to apply for EAD and start working. I am not IT expert so I am looking for job in MACY WALMART etc..

I want to share my experience of L2 EAD Processing Time as I got help by reading this forum about people's experiences .It took around 2 months and 1 week to get EAD in hand.

Applied on 30th dec 2011
got receipt and biometric appointment letter on 5th Jan 2012
Biometrics on 26th Jan
Rfe on 9th feb
got rfe mail on 13th feb 2012
sent all the documents on 15th feb
they got mail on 22nd feb
card production ordered on 28th feb
got the card on March 5, 2012

My case was processed at Texas Center.

I hope it can give you some idea about EAD processing time.

Mar' 28th 2012 - EAD received
Apr' 5th 2012 - Finger printing Appointment


Dont know how it works but I was expecting the EAD after the geometrics test. Happy to receive well ahead so that I can plan my vacation ahead

We filled I485, i140 at the same time in Nov22nd,2011.

Received EAD 2nd week Jan2012, along with Biometrics Interview on Jan 20th. Waiting for GC as of today.

Category is EB2 ROW.
