EAD renewal during L2 visa extension
My L2 visa, I-94 and EAD is getting expired on July 5th. My husbands company has filed L1B extension, but didn't receive reciept number yet.
1. Any option to apply for EAD renewal before getting visa receipt number?
2. If the EAD renewal couldn't happend before expiry date, need to resign from current job or is it ok to go on leave with out pay? or Anyother option available?
Please help!!

I get some ideas..
But i hope i can share my experience.
I submitted my application last march 28.
I got my biometrics last april 25.. And i am still waiting for my EAD along with my I-485.
I called the uscis when can i get my work permit and i was told it should be by June 28th or earlier.
I hope i can have it soon so i can help my husband too. :-)

EAD....A long wait over....

Like everyone here , even I was worried about my EAD when I didn't hear anything from the department for 50 days.
Below is how it went .
21st Feb 2014 Application sent to USCIS with passport size photographs enclosed.
28th Feb 2014 Got a receipt and email of confirmation of case received.
Big wait started after this , What I presumed is I may get a call for bio metrics within 30 days of time and then in around 50 days I would get my EAD as most of my friends have got.
However after checking it every week , no status change occurred online and no mails for bio metrics received , after patiently waiting for 50 days , I thought of giving a call to the department asking for bio metrics appointment , I made this call just for the sake of being in attention that the case is pending with no action from 50 days. At the end of the call the representative said that I will get a reply on this in 7 days.
To all my surprise 4th day after making the call , my EAD was approved online and the status said CARD sent for production and after that in 4 days I received my EAD along with an answer to my request of bio metrics "that its not needed my case has been approved"
Three suggestions for all you waiting for EAD :
1) Have patience.
2) Do try giving a call to one of the representatives for bio metrics / expedition or something else just to give your case a little highlight.
3) If this doesn't work , please have patience your EAD would be soon on its way.
After reading so many posts on this , feeling good to be posting here.

I applied i-765 as of November 04,2013 it is my first time application and they accepted my initial application and i did get a notice , but i latter realized that i forgot to send an important document which is the evidence that i applied for Asylum along with my application . ( i am a pending asylum applicant) . what should i do now, please help !! i was thinking to send this document along with my receipt letter from EAD application , is it a Good Idea??? will this result in denial for the application???

EAD card lost in mail
My EAD was approved and dispatched. According to the postal service (usps), it was delivered to me on the third day, by priority mail. But I never got it. All attempts to track it have failed.
Can I take up a job by showing EAD approval notice ? Or do I have to apply for EAD again and can take up a job only after receiving a card (approx 3 months wait) ?
Any help is appreciated.

EAD card through AOS over 105 days!
Hi,
It has been over 100 days since I applied to the I-485 and I-765 and I have not received my EAD card yet. I have two job offers on the table that I am afraid I will loose if I don't get that card soon.
I have tried everything:
1. Calling the National Center
2. Asking for an expedite (before the 90 days)
3. Service request after 90 days
4. Visit my congressman to help with the process after 90 days
5. Email Ombudsman explaining my situation
6. InfoPass at local office
My case is in Missouri that is all I know. I have not received any RFE or any other information.
I am in a desperate situation and quite stressed out. I thought it could take 90 days but this is going well over that...and nobody can give me an answer as to why it is taking so long and when I should receive my card.
Anybody in a similar situation? Similar experiences? What can I do?

Biometrics appointment for paper based EAD
I filed paper based I-765 . I am currently on l2 visa and its a renewal application.i sent all supporting documents . It's bee 15 days since USCIS received my application and I still haven't got biometrics appointment letter. Is it common?
I read in forums that biometrics is not required for paper based ead. Please let me know your experience.

Sharing my experience because a lot of information on this site helped me and uh..gave me hope
April 19 - sent out package for AOS, EAD and AP
April 23 - stuff received
April 29 - got the i-797
May 3 - Got biometrics notice for May 22
May 6 - walked into Hicksville center for biometrics. I was one of 2 people there at 2pm
May 10 - called USCIS 1800 number and pleaded for expediting EAD. ( I have a job for July 1!)
May 12 - got rejected by USCIS - not enough evidence to show that it is an emergency blablabla.
May 13 - called my district congresswoman's office and they mailed me a privacy release paper and asked for evidence on my case
May 16 - Faxed the congresswoman's office - contract with my job, a cover letter from me explaining my situtation and how my family would suffer if I lose this job, My i-797 and my proof of biometrics from May 6
May 29 - got a notice that my I-485 was in "interview/testing"
May 30 - got a call from Congresswoman's office that they spoke to USCIS and they will do their best....
later that afternoon --> got a notice that EAD and ADVANCED PAROLE were approved!
The people at the Congresswoman's office were sooo nice and I was really surprised how much they cared for one of their 'future' constituents.

L2 EAD experience
I want to share my experience on L2 EAD as I got help by reading this forum.I received EAD within one month.
Paper filing is faster so I had sent the following documents and covering letter:
- Filing fee $380
- I-765 form
- L1 approval notice
