No update on my application yet! Send on 17th May to Chicago Lockbox. Received it there on 21st May, confirmed from FedEx.Nothing heard back from the USCIS yet and no cheque is cashed! The application was for both parents Adjustment of Status within USA. Their return date is getting closer, we are confused to what to do now.
Is it normal? Does it take such a long time to get th i797c from uscis?!

Can you please share your thoughts on this Enub4 ?

ab_bey I don't have experience with GC for parents. It looks that in your case is taking longer than expected, don't know if that is normal for AOS for parents.
Can you provide more information? Don't know if it is correct to post in this thread or open a new one.
        • are you USC
        • what forms did you send for each parent
        • how many cheques
        • amount for each cheque
        • did you file form G-1145
I hope everything is ok and you get your receipts soon.

Much appreciate your reply! Enub4 I started a new thread and no responses received. So thought of following May 2019 filers. It will be great if there are some thread that gives some insight while appluing for Parent's GC inside or from outside USA.
The details for the requested information is as below:-
          • Yes, I am a USC
          • I have attached I-130, I-485, I-131, G-1145, I-864 and sealed Medical Evaluation form for both of them separately with all the requested supporting documents
          • 3 checks in each application
          • $535 for I-130, $1225 for I-485 and $575 for !-131 Advance parole
          • Yes, I filed G-1145 for both the application
And we filed individually and no attorneys involved. We spoke with the FedEx team and they told package is delivered there and gave us the name of the person who received it there.

Maybe they will return the package for "wrong fee", I'm not sure. Form I-131 has no cost when you send it with or after I-485.

Oh is it? I never know that! Then that might be the reason this delay. But, in that case they can discard that particular check instead of returning the whole application. I will try to call them and ask for any update on the package.

So in our case, we need to pay only for I-130 and I-485 with amount $535 and $1225 right? Is there any fees for G-1145 or any other things I need to keep in mind, if i need to resend the package again?

@ab_bey I am in a similar situation. Sent the package on 16th May to Chicago Lockbox via UPS. Package received on 17th May. No news after that. I included a form to charge my credit card instead of a cheque but that hasn't been charged either. I called the USCIS and they said to wait until the 30 day period and then call again. Don't know what's wrong. Let me know if you hear anything about your case!

And finally, the application got accepted! I filed for the AOS for my parents, as two separate applications. One application they accepted on 17th and the second one they accepted yesterday. They returned the checks for I-131, as I don't need to pay for it separately when applying along with the i485 application. Anyway it took almost a month to get a response from USCIS after filing the application. Happy that the application is accepted, now my parents can stay back, as they are currently under applied status! Was bit worried as their return travel date was getting closer. Waiting for the further steps now, bio metrics and finger print, interviews and all. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the support and advises at the time of trouble!! Enub4

Hello! I got the messages regarding the package exactly after a month of sending the application. They accepted one application on 17th June and the other one they accepted yesterday, 19th June! I sent them checks, and I placed an extra check my mistake on both application and they sent it back to me! Now I am waiting for the further steps.

What about your status now, I hope you might have received the message update and acceptance letter by now!

Did you filed the AOS for your parents or ?

So the priority date (PD) is the mail delivered day or the day when they sent out the notice?
