Gosh now I’m so nervous that we haven’t received our appointment letter since we’re a few days ahead on our timeline. Good to know that online status doesn’t change when they mail out the notice. Deep breaths!

I didn’t include the medical form because I couldn’t afford the $250 fee these Doctors were charging. I did read you can send it in later when they ask or take it to the interview

                        Long winded Question...lol
when filling out the Forms (marriage based) I didn’t add my married name as I don’t officially have it on any ID/Passport. Truth be told, the current climate around immigration & the horror stories, had me flustered so that was the only thing I messed up on the form. I was so concerned that if I had done that, it would have caused an issue. I then was informed AFTER FILING my Forms, that I could have automatically started using my Husband’s last name. I also have to renew my Passport soon & I intend on having his name added to it. My Question: Is that going to be a problem when I get interviewed that on the form I don’t have my married name & on my passport I do?

I’m by no means an expert on the topic, but I don’t imagine that would cause you a problem, especially if you are recently married. Plenty of people don’t even change their names. As long as the information you provided on your application was true and correct at the time of filing, you are fine. I would probably update all of your ids, banking, etc to reflect your new name once you have it changed for the sake of consistency.

Also, and probably most importantly, double check on the USCIS website for name change procedures. I’m assuming you are the beneficiary, so there may be a form you have to file with USCIS for name changes (after filing your application) similar to alerting them about a change of address. If I can find any info, I will post it.

Maybe others will chime in, but hope this helps!

IMO, I dont think that’s gonna be a problem. You have the freedom to use your name if you want to, or carry your husband’s last name whichever you like. But since you decided you wanna change your name on the new passport you’ll get, you should now search how to update or change name ok your application after you get your NOA letter so you’ll have case number already. Im not an expert haha so this is just my suggestion/opinion.
