Same problem here. To solve on a budget, we went to the City's Health Department immunization clinic with the list of required immunizations and tests from the I-693 instructions. They charged $25 per shot. They gave us a print-out and put it all in the state's immunization record system. So when we go to the USCIS approved doc, they will be able to pull it up and I won't have to pay them an arm and a leg for the same shots.

She basically has two options: a) to have a blood test done and then with the results the physician can confirm she has all the required vaccines, or b) get the list of required vaccinations from USCIS and have the doctor give them to you. I went with option b because option a is much more expensive. Plus, there's no side effect to being vaccinated twice (I know I have my vaccines from my home country, it's just that I don't have the record). Hope that helps!!!
Thank you, this definitely helps. I imagine both options are expensive at the end of the day. How much did it cost to get all the required vaccinations?

For us maybe option A can be covered by insurance and then we pay for any vaccinations she doesn't have.

                • Hi Everyone,

This is my timeline so far.

Oct 1: Documents mailed (Los Angeles)
                  Oct 2: Received
                  Oct 2: Checks Cashed
Oct 11: Received three hard copy notices
Oct 18: Biometrics Appointment Notice Received
                  Oct 19: Biometrics Completed (Walk-in)
Nov 14: Courtesy letter for medical received
                  Jan 16: EAD approved

We are a little worried that I-485 wasn’t updated at all, it still says fingerprint fee received. We are in Los Angeles so it’s possible that it will take longer. However, we are wondering if anyone else experienced the same in terms of no updates on the USCIS website.

I have student health insurance, so I only paid the medical exam itself ($300). However, somebody else posted that each vaccine costed $25. I am pretty sure that the blood test will be much more expensive than just getting the vaccines.

I am not a lawyer or anything (so take whatever I say with a grain of salt) but if there's nothing wrong with your case I wouldn't hire an attorney just for the interview. From what I have read, whenever attorneys go to the interview they don't say a word.
