we sent my husband's last 3 years of tax return (2015- 2018) but when I was going through the package again I didn't realize that he made a mistake. For 2015, he wrote that he made 39,000 but really he'd made 20,000 (it was an honest mistake!) So in 2015 he was below poverty line. However I don't know if that matters for a 2018 application.
also, we didn't include pay stubs or employment letter. That might be it. I have seen rfies where they ask you for 6 months of pay stubs, but what would happen if he's been employed at the current job for less than 6 months?
Well he can only send what he has, so I would just explain that in the cover letter when you send your response. If he worked at another job prior to that, perhaps send those stubs as well to show continuity of employment. You can drive yourself crazy speculating what it could be... ours ended up being for something we sent in the original package so we just resent it. Hoping for an easy and smooth RFIE for you!

I am not a very religious person but just yesterday I pray to God to hear something from USCIS and just today I got this. God is wonderful and he hears me every time I need him.

          • My wife and I live in NYC and I mailed in her AOS package to the Chicago lockbox mid October. Our receipts, RFIE, and courtesy I-693 letter all came from Lee's Summit, MO. This means the NBC in Lee's Summit is handling my wife's EAD and travel documents right?

But the field office to handle the actual I-485 will likely be the NY field office?

I think it’s the other way around. NY will handle your EAD and AP. Lee’s Summit will handle the 485.

                          • Hola everyone!
So I still don't have the RFIE on hand yet, but I have been trying to think what our mistake was. As I said before, by mistake my husband put that he made 39,000 in the year 2016, however, he made a little bit below the poverty line by then. Right now (and since 2017) he's made above the poverty line. So USCIS might ask for a joint sponsor even if we don't need one. I could get some sponsors, but really I don't want to do the whole process again when it should be an easy fix. If the RFIE is because if that, what would be the best way to go about it?

There's nothing you can do at this point. I had mine on 12/9 and on 01/15 I got a RFIE. So you should wait a few more days and see what happens.
