Change of status from H1B to F2
I have my H1B and my Project ended a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t found a new one. I want to change my status from H1B to F2 (my husband is on F1 visa - has a OPT and working). I have a few quick questions and looking for inputs.
1. What will be the current processing time to move from H1 to F2?
2. While a status change is in process, if I find a full time position with an employer who is willing to sponsor my H1B, will I have to wait until the status change happens and then get my H1 approved?
3. Will I be able to leave the country while my status change is in process?

Can H4 visa holder(Not EAD) eligible to apply for Green Card?
I am Malaysian and holding H4 visa and my spouse is in H1B. I dont have EAD. Can I directly apply for Green Card? I mean can a H4 visa holder apply for green card. Please guide me.

Nov 21: Visa interview
Appointment was at 12pm for me and my wife. This is the first time I am applying for H1B visa. We were there by 11.30 am and went inside the consulate for the verifications.
I was asked to stand in a queue and I saw that the one who was ahead of us was applying for F1 visa and got rejected.I was tensed :)
Below is what happened with VO who was a lady
Me: Good afternoon,How are you?
VO: I am good,how are you doing?
Me: I am good thanks
VO: Passports of both and i-797
Me: Gave the documents
VO: Who is your petitioner?
Me: xxxxxx copmany
VO: who is your client?
Me: I do not have any client. I will be directly working with my employer.
VO: is this a new opportunity?
Me: Yes
VO: how you came to know about this company?
Me: My friend refered me.
VO: How many employees in the company?
Me: 11
VO: :LCA and project details
Me: I gave the documents and briefed about the project
VO: what will be your salary?
Me: $xxxxxxxx
VO: what software will you be using?
Me: Told her the software details
To my wife
VO: How long are you married?
Wife: 2 years
VO: Do you know which state you will be staying in the states?

Visa experience in chennai
OFC on 14-Nov-2016: Was pretty simple. They just take your photo and fingerprints. My appointment was @1pm, I went thr by 12.45 and came out by 1.15. Just go 15 min early to your appointment time. Keep ds160 confirmation, passports and Appointment letter handy. No other document is needed here. You can carry your mobile.
PAI on 15-Nov-2016: My appointment was scheduled at 9.30am, I reached the venue by 9. I skipped the queue multiple times. Thanks to my 4yr old Son. I entered the queue at 9.05am and you will be allowed inside the building after security check. There was another small queue inside the main Consulate builing where they verify the passports. After that they verify your fingerprints. At 9.20, I was sitting and waiting for my interview with VO(you will stand in queue if you don't have a kid along with you) . Since the appointment was at 9.30, they asked me wait for sometime. Around 9.25 I was guided to a counter . gave all passports to VO and he asked only 4 questions,
VO: Who is your employer?
VO: Who is your Client?
VO: What do you do for your client?
VO to my wife: What is your highest qualification?
He then type something in his computer and said the golden words and that I can collect my passport in 4 days. He gave a white pamplet. At 9.35, I was outside the Consulate.

h1 ,pregnancy and cos to h4
Hi guys,
This case of mine might sound similar to you ,but failed to find help I am posting my case here.
I got my h1 approved and effective from October.But I am pregnant due to delivery in a month ,hence could not find project as per my preferences and now have to go for cos otherwise I shall go out of status.My questions now are
1.I don have pay stubs till date,I got my petition October end.will this effect my h4cos in future?
2.My husband's employer is taking lot of time to file the cos which means it will be 60 days since I am on h1,what are the immediate steps to avoid legal problems?
Your reply will be of great help as I am running out of time and no proper help to move forward on this case.

1) I have mentioned YYYY TECH SOLNS & YYYY TECH SOLUTIONS in my DS160 in 2 different places, which i feel is a contradiction.Do you feel there is any issues with it ?
