Designation change in LCA and h1b extension application
Hi All,
My H1B extension is due in October and my employer has filed my extension . My question is that the designation posted in LCA is System administrator and position applied for extension is database administrator. Will this going to effect my extension ?
My original petition is of database administrator.
Thanks to immihelp for making everything out of box about US, Visa and Immigration.
Here my interview experience,
I wanted to share somethings which are not shared by anyone and I feel it might helpful.
09/02 - @ OFC,
If you are travelling via guindy you have to take next right turn when you see RainTree hotel(your left side).
Opposite to Appollo Cancer hospital there is a street (Parallel street to the visa interview queue) where you can leave your vehicle easily. Lot of space is there since everyone think there is no parking, all are coming in auto or taxi.
If you are going in two wheeler, It is advised to go in Activa or the vehicle which has lock facility for your belongings. Parking is owner's risk. But dont worry it is safe in that area.
We had 2 pm appointment. Me and my wife went in activa reached there by 1 PM. Locked our belongings bag, cellphone etc., There was a hotel in that street itself. We had our lunch there. Dont worry they are serving fast you will not spend more than half n hour there. You can plan your lunch there if you have appointment during lunch time.
We came out by 1.30 walked to the parallel street. There was two 1. Current half n hour (1.30 - 2). 2. Next half n hour (2 - 2.30). There was a borad in front of the queue saying the timing.
We Joined in first queue. Note, there will be only 2 queues if you are reaching more than 1 hour early you cannot stand in queue aswell. dont think if you join queue early you can finish soon. The queue is actually moving very fast. Reaching half n hour before your appointment time is more than enough.
15 persons at a time will be sent to the Visa application center building from the queue. Two persons will get your passport, DS160 and Appointment letter. They will verify it and make a tick in the informations. Since it is verified and ticked, You have to use the same DS160 and Appointment letter where ever asked.
VAC is on the first floor. There will be a security check and there will be two officers who will get your Passport, DS160 and Appointment letter. They will paste a sticker with the barcode in our passport.
We went inside, Token number was given. There was some 15-20 counters in that big hall. You have to wait and see the big monitor. When your number is called you have to go to that counter.
There was an indian inside the counter.
Me: Hi Good Morning
VO: Hi Good Morning. Can i have your passport and DS160.
Me: Given
VO: Please read through the instructions pasted there.
(Actually the speaker was not working properly. It was not audible. Since all counters are in a same hall lot of noise also)
Me: Sorry I couldn't hear you.
VO: Please read through the instructions pasted there.
(Again it was not audible)
Me: (Bit tensed and was showing in sign I cant hear)
VO: (Adjusted the mic and volume)
VO: Please read through the instructions pasted there.
Me: Ok. (Read it, said Ok after finished).
VO: Please wait for a minuite I will check your information sir.
Me: ya sure.
VO: Give me your full name sir,
ME: YYYY X
VO: What is your date of birth sir,
Me: xxxxxx
VO: Gave my passport and said - Read your passport number loudly sir,
Me: yyyyyyyyy
VO: I will verify once again pls check, your full name xxxxxx date of birth xxxxx passport number yyyyyyy.
Me: Yes it is correct.
VO: Keep your left hand 4 fingers on the scanner
Me: did
VO : Keep your right hand 4 fingers on the scanner
Me: did
VO: Keep your both thumb on the scanner
Me: did
VO: Please stand one step back near that white board and look into the camera sir,
Me: did
VO: Thank you. You can leave with your documents now. Please read the instruction on the notice board. Please reach interview 15 mins before.
Me: Thank you so much.
Whole day i was tensed thinking that what if the same kind of atmosphere in the consulate counter. Noice, speaker was not working properly etc.,
09/03- @ Consulate
We had appointment at 10.30 AM. We reached there by 9.30. We parked our two wheeler in the parallel road locked our belongings in our vehicle.
There was two queue without time board in front. We enquired and joined 10.30 queue.
Around 10 our queue was moving. One guy in front of queue asked our passport and entered something in his device. After moving from this queue in consulate enterence there was another queue. This queue is for security check.
We finished and moved inside there was another building. We went there. There was two officers who got our passport and paste a token number in our passports.
We moved inside after getting token number. There was a guy sending us to different counters for bio metric.
VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning
Helper: Sitting near counter got our passport and was showing to VO for barcode scan.
VO: Please keep your left hand 4 fingers
Me: did
VO: (to my wife) . Please keep your left hand 4 fingers
She: did
VO: Please stay there your token number will be called in monitor.
We were sitting there watching monitor. Our number was called,
There was two people infront of us.
1. L1 Blanket - Rejected. I din listen full interview,
VO: finally said, This visa is not for your role madam. I cannot approve your visa. Took blue slip and was writing something.
She: Can I explain my role once again.
VO: If you explain me one more time also I am sure my decision will not change madam. I appreciate your work and efforts. Please try in different catagory.

Now it is our turn. From the above two people I was thinking that definitely i will get lot of questions,

VO: Good Morning.
VO: Can I have your passports please.

VO: For whom you will be working for in US.
Me: xxxxxxxxxxx

Me: $$$$$ Dollars.
VO: Your Visa is Approved (Heard "GOLDEN WORDS")
Me: Thank You.
VO: Gave me a pamplet and said Thank you.
Me: Thank You have a good day.
My Wife: Thank You
Left Consulate with smile and joy :)
Tips: Wear ID card while going to interview. It will be always advantage for you and it will also avoid some questions if you are from big companies.
Actually they have a database with many companies that applied visa before and their clients. The first step of checking is they will type your company name and client name if it is available in their database your visa is definitely approved with very less formal questions. Otherwise they will ask more questions to validate if you are saying true.
Wish you all the very best for your Interview !!! Happy to USA. !!!
I would like to thank immihelp and all the folks who shared their experiences it was immense help for PAI.
Mine is BEP case it was pretty straight forward. I saw many B1/B2 candidates very few H1b candidates in my slot (11:00 AM).
Below is my thoughts on PAI after reading hundreds of posts and attending PAI today.
# if you have BEP case or you are FTE (for petitioner) so its cakewalk (unless you really make a big blunder )
# for all other cases documents should be strong.
# i know of a case where interviewer called up the client to verify if a person is working for them and he found out that he was no longer with that client, rejection then and there.
Have all the documents handy rehearse the questions and it will be really walk in the park.
Need guidance from people who attended the interview at HYDERABAD consulate.
I am going to attend the visa interview during last week of September at Hyderabad consulate. Could you please share your experiences who attended the interview recently at HYD consulate. What is the success percentage of HYD consulate?
Hi,
first of all a big thanks for creating such a nice forum and to all the people who shared their experiences. I know by experience that it helps a lot. I feel an obligation to write down my experience.
My interview was scheduled for 09:00 AM today and I reached the embassy at 08:45 AM. There were hardly 10-15 people in the queue so wasn't a long wait. Inside after the security check, they asked for the passport and a photocopy of the petition (797B). Unfortunately I was not carrying it, so they just took the original and stapled it to my passport. Then they made us sit in rows of chairs (around 09:00 AM). After 5 min.s they asked 2 rows to go inside, where again there was a small queue and the finger prints were verified again. After this, there was a slightly bigger row with around 25-30 people in the area where the visa interview was taking place. My turn came in another 10 mins and following was the conversation:
VO asked for my passport stapled with the petition and nothing else.
VO- So you work in YYYY company?
Me- Yes
VO- Who's your end client?
Me- YYYY
VO- What would be your salary in US in USD/ year?
Me- YYYY
VO- What is your highest qualification?
Me- I told him.
VO- Ok, your visa is approved and he handed me a small booklet mentioning it has the details on my rights in US.
Me- I just thanked him and left, but then I remembered that he had kept the original 797B letter which was stapled to my passport, so I ran back and asked him if he would be keeping the original as well?
VO just said that I would get it back. I assume with the passport I'll get back my original petition too.
So, that was it, quite simple and straight forward, he didn't even check any of my other documents. The whole process took hardly 30 mins. Please don't panic and be confident, God willing it'll go well.
Best of luck to all future aspirants!!
