Hi everyone,
My current employer is company-A. I am going to client location in US for company-B on H1 visa.
My petition is approved.
I am having client letter in my employer's letter head not in client letter head.
Will it create any problem during H1 interview?
Any suggestion are welcome.

H1B - Stamping - Chennai Consulate - Aug 14
I'm just going to highlight some tips here. Please take them with a pinch of salt as they are all based on my personal opinions.
OFC Appointment.
Tips:
Arrive 15 mins before the appointed time.
Avoid suits, ties, uncomfortable clothing. The visa picture will not cover much other than your face. So turn up in comfortable clothing.
The actual process takes only 5 mins max.
Visa Interview at Consulate (The following tips are for Chennai)
1. There will be a huge queue at the other end of the consulate (near the busstop)
2. There will be 2 queues (one for current slot one for next slot) check your slot queue and stand in that line.
3. Line will be HUGE so if you want to be infront come early :)
4. DO NOT CARRY any electronic items, food items. A guy was asked to either eat the chocolate he carried or throw it away.
5. There is a small counter where you can store bags, electronics incase you brought them. Not sure how much he charges.
6. Wear comfortable clothes. You are in chennai and you will be soaking in sweat by the time you get inside.
7. Wear perfume/ Deo :)
8. Your folder will be checked in a scanner and then you will be checked and then asked to move to another building (where Visa interview takes place)
9. once you enter the building at the reception your passport will be verified and a sticker will be pasted on your passport with your Token Number (This is the token number of your interview)
10. Next up your fingerprints will be checked again.
11. Next you will have to sit in the waiting hall and look at the monitor in front of you for your token to appear.
12. Do not try to look/listen to the counters and 'assess' them as easy counter, tough counter etc. IT DOES NOT HELP.
13. Instead take some deep breaths, go through things in your mind, prepare yourself.
14. Once you see the token number on the monitor go to the appropriate counter number.
15. Dont crowd at the counter queue. Leave enough space between you and the person in front of you.
16. Once you are at the counter with the VO be confident.
17. Give assertive, confident answers.
18. Know where your documents are in your folder (there is no blue folder where the important docs are kept. Its all your big folder that you have to carry to the counter)
19. probably the biggest advice: LISTEN TO THE VO CAREFULLY AND THEN ANSWER.
e.g. The guy in front of me was answering repeatedly 'I'm Accountant. 'I'm Accoutant'. 'I'm Accountant'. The VO was repeating his question 'Sir, where do you work?' 'Where do you work?' 'Where do you work?'
20. Don't lean in and answer - the mic is actually at the side. So you are better of talking loudly from where you are standing in case the VO is not able to hear you.

Visa Shifting
Here is the situation, I got admission in to a university in USA to do my masters when I was in USA on H4. I requested for i20 and they have issued it on 26th May. But unfortunately, due to emergency situation I had to go to India in the month of June and came back to USA on H4 . Now I wanted to shift my visa status to F1 . But since my i20 has been issued before me coming to India there comes the problem for me changing my visa status to F1.I t looks like I have committed a fraud. This is what my visa adviser told me Is there any solution for this??? Will they accept my visa shift at this situation???Please leave your inputs, they will help me a lot. Thanks in advance.

My interview date was Aug 14th. 2014 for H1-B visa.
Foll. questions were asked after taking my passport for verification :
Q1 .Who is your Employer
Q2. What is your highest qualification?
Q3. Which location would you be working in US?
Q4. Are you married?
That's it & "your visa is approved & your passport would be ready for pick up in 3-4 days" .

H4 Visa Interview at Chennai,India
My Wife and kid went for H4 Stamping at Chennai on 11th Aug 2014.I will tell the questions asked in interview
1.How long have u been married
2.what is ur husband's employer name
3.can u give ur I797 copy
Ans : My wife gave my I797 Copy
4.can u give ur I797 copy
Ans : My wife said that she does not have her I797 copy.
5.He said that he will check and come back
6.He collected the passports but did not say the visa is approved
My wife asked him a question " Is my Visa Approved"
He said that should be fine,but he did not mention that the visa is approved
Dont Panic.If he collects the passport then visa is approved.we got the H4 visa stamped passport on 12th Aug 2014.

Moving back to India - H1B expires ( Can I change from H1B to B1/B2)
I'm planning to move back to India for good on Sept 25th, but my H1B visa expires on 09/10. I need to extend my stay for 2 weeks to wrap up stuff in the US. Can I apply for change status from H1B to B1/B2. Would appreciate your help, if someone has encountered the same situation.

H1B visa stamping at Chennai
On Aug 11th, I have attended the stamping interview at Chennai and my visa is approved. I would like to thank everyone in this forum for providing more information about H1B visa right from H1B lottery day. I would like to share my experience with you guys and all the very best for people who are waiting for stamping.
My appointment timing is at 8am in the morning and I reached the consulate at 7.15am. There was two separate queues standing outside, one for 7.30 and another for 8am. I stood in 8am queue and was waiting to get through the initial checks.
Once all the security checks are done, they asked me to go to the interview section by issuing a receipt with token number and asked me to look at the display and wait for my token number and move to the respective counter for interview.
After 30 mins, my turn came and I moved to the counter. The below are the questions asked by Visa officer (VO) and the answers provided by me.
Me: Good Morning Sir, How are you doing?
VO: Good Morning, I am doing good, Thanks. May I have your passport and DS160 confirmation letter pls?
Me: Gave the passport and DS160 confirmation letter (Bit surprised since he didn’t ask me for I797B approval notice or any other documents)
VO: Which company you are working for Sir?
Me: Answered
VO: Who is your client?
Me: Answered
VO: How much does your company pay you in US sir?
Me: I told the US annual salary as per I129 petition.
VO: That’s great. Can you tell me about your jobs and role?
Me: I answered in a short manner (Not in detail). At this time, he was looking into his monitor to his left side and checking something.
VO: Do you have any visa denial before Sir?
Me: Yes I do. Last year I have applied for L1B blanket and it was denied.
VO: Denied for?
Me: Since that category is for candidates with highly specialized skills, my visa was denied and Visa officer asked me to apply for a different category.
VO: Again looking into his monitor and said, “Just wait for a moment Sir” and went inside.
Me: (I was very much tensed at this point)
VO: Congratulations Sir, your visa is approved. You can leave now.
Me: Thanks you so much Sir.
One thing to say, H1B visa stamping interview is pretty simple and no need to worry at all. Surely visa will be approved. Good Luck

Client Letter Original / Photo Copy
Hi All,
I have scheduled my VISA interview next week in Hyderabad.
After going thru the experiences in immihelp i requested my employer to send me Client Letter.
They are in process of getting one, my question is Client Letter has to be original / photocopy should be fine.
