OFC @ Nov 10 : It took just 15 mins for me. DS 160, Appointment confirmation & Passport required. They took the photo & finger prints

Interview @ Nov 12:

I've scheduled for 7.30 AM. Was there at consulate by 7AM and they let us in by 7.45 after the initial screening. Once get in they gave token
and went to main building.

Its my turn and my token number was called in screen.

Me: Good Morning Office ! How are you doing
VO: GM. Im doing good. How about you.

Me: Im doing good.

VO: Passpor please
ME: passed

VO: Where are you working now?
ME: XYZ

VO: Does XYZ send you in H1B?
ME: No. Its new employment with ABC

VO: So you will resign and join in ABC?
ME: yes

VO: What ABC do?
ME: Explained

VO: How did you get this job?
ME: Through employee referel

VO: How much they pay you?
ME: YYYY USD

VO: Can you show the project description document?
ME: Ive only client letter

VO: Oh you work at client site?
ME: yes. Passed my client letter

VO: What you know about your Client?
ME: Explained

VO: What are you going to do with client?
ME: Explained

VO: Can you please pass you I-129 and other supporting docs?
ME: Passed my I-129, LCA, Offer letter, Client letter & Employer - Client relationship documents

VO: Everything is good. Im approving your visa. Here is the US rights pamphlet. Please read it.
ME: Thank you officer.

VO: you will get your passport within few days
ME: Sure. Thanks again.

VO: have a good day
ME: you too.

This is how it went for me. VO was very cool. Thats it for my long wait and deep breath :)

Very big thanks to everybody for sharing their experience of H1 Visa interview, without ur all sharing it would be not be possible for me to get the visa...

OFC Process:

1. Queue
2. Document check, I had correction so did immediately with the use of consulate internet facilities.
3. finger print scan

very simple process but make sure your name on DS160 is same as Passport.

Consulate Interview:

they did my finger print check and gave me token.

VO: how did you find this job?
me: answered.. you should not have hiccup.

VO: mam, when did you get married?
my wife: answered

VO: I am approving your H1 and H4 visa and collect your passport after stamping. be ready to come to US.
Me and My wife: Thank you very much. :)

I straight away came out of building and filled form to courier my passport to my home address.

First of all a big thanks to all the guys who posted their experience which help us to crack the visa interview.
My OFC appointment was scheduled on 7th Sept 2013 and consular H1 Visa interview was on 8th Sept 2013 in Mumbai.

OFC Process:
------------
1. Stay in queue.
2. Person checks your document and appoint letter.
3. Go to the counter giver ur passport to them.
4. They will Attached ur DS 160 number on the back of your passport and give you the token with token number, mine was 33.
5. Either on the screen or the guys there were announce your number and ask you to stand on the counter for finger print and photo.
6. When your turn come just give them your token slip and passport with DS 160 confirmation.
7. They take ur finger print, photon and put a stamp over your DS 160 confirmation.
8. Done, i left for the day.

Documents Needed: Passport, DS 160 Confirmation and VISA Appointment letter.

CONSULAR Interview

There they will scan my all items and gave me a token number mine was G599.

VO: Are u married?(smilling..)
Me: No Sir... (with smile)

VO: Give me ur offer letter and other supporting documents.
Me: Gave my Offer letter, LCA, I-129 documents

VO: Gave a pamplet of my right, rule and regulation in the US with

VO: Your visa is approved. You will get ur passport in 3-5 working days.
Me: Thanks.

Me: Have a good day sir.
VO: Same to u too.

I collected my documents and turn and directly walk iut of the building.
Do not wait there after ur interview.

Us consulate Mumbai interview went around for 10min. Below were the questions asked :

A.ZZZ.Explained in one sentence.

A.This would be my new job.
4.How did you hear about this company
A.My friend referred me to this company and they conducted technical interviews in the month of Feb 2013 and agreed to file my H1b petition.
5.What were you doing with your previous visa, how long did you work there
A.3 Yr 8months. Sorry correction 1 yr on OPT and 2yr 8mo on H1b.
6. What were you doing since then?
A.I worked in hyd for sometime and now currently working in Mumbai.
7.Oh you studied there, what did you study
A.MS in computer science
8.From which university
A.ZZZ
9.Where is it?
A.told city name.
10.Where exactly
A.told the exact location from major city
11.For which client?
A.ZZZ.
12.Will you be working at the Employer's office?
A.Yes.Half the team would be working from client's place
13.Is this the only client which Employer has
A.I think so

15. can i see your offer letter from Employer
A.handed over offer letter and consulate letter. Told her that i have the agreement copy too between client and Employer.

Visa officer : Continuosly typing for 5 min. Ok . your visa will be ready within a couple of business days. Please take your documents.

There were no rejections for any type of visa on that day.Be confident.Good luck!

New H1B 2013( Intw date - 6th Nov) - for a small company in US
Mumbai Visa center

-- Fingerprinting and Photo(1 Nov) -
Nothing to worry at all here, take the below docs and u would be done in 5 mins
Mine was scheduled at 2.00pm I reached at 12.50, they allowed me in and I was out by 1.10pm
1. Passport
2. DS160
3. Appointment Letter

Once you go in they look at ur documents and stick a sticker at the back of ur passport. You will be given a ticket number and asked to sit. I was asked to go to once counter, scan you fingers take a photo and done, thats it.

There was no line nothing , the room was empty.

-- Interview day(7.45) Reached 6.45am, there was already a small line outside, stand in that they check appointment letter and Passport, ask u to get out ur I797B and keep it in passport. Keep waiting finally they open the Visa office and let every one in, if you are ahead in line you go in first, then security screening and keep follwing the line ,finally u enter the block where you get a token number from one of the counter.
Then again stand in a line, at the end of line finger scanning is done and you are asked to sit in front of a line of counters. Till 8 am no counter was open.

8am first counter opened and the first token number was displayed on the screen , token YYYY served at this counter/window, then other counters start opening and the next token numbers get addressed parallely, so be attentive for ur number, it would be in a sequence. You can actually here the VO asking questions and answers to them if you are sitting in the first row . The first 5 on the window in front of me ,all approved , was I believe , student , Business, Visitor and something else.

So finally my number cake and went and stood in front of my counter/window. One person was standing in front of me looked to be a manager dressed in complete formals with a suit. His turn and boom, visa approved in less than a min.

VO : Do you have kids
Me: No

VO : Is your wife going to apply H4?
Me : Yes , but not now may be in 2 months

VO : what is your role and duties
Me : Explained 2-3 lines about roles and duties, didnt do that well

VO: So what is it your are going to analyse,design and develop
Me: Basically we are going to develop bla bla, she looked convinced

VO : She started typing a lot continuously looking at monitor, and I was staring at her.
Lot of typing was making me nervous, I thought oh God no ...
Finally she looked back and asked so are there different clients for which you would work
Me : I said ya there are different customers of the company and I am going to b involved in different projects for the various customers

VO : Can you tell me which are the projects
Me : I told the names one by one

VO : Can you spell the name for me for the first project
Me : I spelled the name, VO started typing each project name.

VO : So how long you have been with this company.
Me : No this is for new employment ,I would join them once the Visa is approved

VO : (Looking at the passport) , oh so you were working before for this ZZZ
Me: Yes I have been with them for X years

VO :(Cancelled my previous Visa on the passport) Did you get the white pamphlet
Me : Yes

VO : Ok ,you are good to go ,the Visa is approved.
Me : thank you ( I could not believe that my VIsa is approved, pinch me I thought Iw as dreaming .... but it was true ...thank God ... you can do miracles ... just have faith)Note: I was on L1B before was denied extension

This forum has helped me a lot in building the confidence to appear for the Visa interview. Now, its my turn to contribute to this forum. My OFC appointment was scheduled yesterday (06/11/2013) and consular interview was done today (07/11/2013) in Hyderabad.

OFC Appointment :

Very straight-forward and simple. Be there around 15 mins prior to the appointment time and you just need to give your 10 fingerprints and return back. Just a 10 mins job and you are done for the day.

Documents needed for OFC are : 1. Passport 2. DS-160 confirmation 3. Visa Appointment confirmation.

Below are the questions for my interview :

VO : Good Morning, How are you doing ?
Me : Hello Sir, I am good. How are you ?

VO : I'm good. (to my wife), Hello Ma'm, when did you get married ?
My wife : <answered>

VO : Who arranged the marriage ?
My wife : Our parents.

Then, VO asked us for the left hand fingerprints and asked me to pass on both the passports and I-797B.

VO : Who is your employer ?
Me : <Answered>

VO : What do you do for them ?
Me : <Explained my job responsibilities>

VO : What is your highest degree of qualification ?
Me : B.Tech in CSE.

Then, VO asked me to give the right hand finger prints and said, 'YOUR VISAS HAVE BEEN ISSUED'. We were asked only for our passports and I-797B, but its better to carry all the required documents.

I am planning to schedule visa interview for H1B in this month. I have 3 years of experience in software development, my company applied H1B for me. I have 3 years gap after Btech, later I did PG , got a job in campus placements and from 3 years I am working in same company which is applied H1B for me.

In visa interview, is there any chance that interviewer ask about my GAP(after B tech) ? If yes, How should I manage this ?
