H1B - Approved on FEB 7th for US -Delhi
First of all thanks a ton for this site. This site is really a SPOC for all those who are going to appear for visa interviews.
I had my interview at 10:15 a.m. in Delhi for H1B US visa. Everyone staff there was very coperative. So need of getting nervous, just be confident and listen everyone very carefully. After all the formalities, my turn came at 10:57 a.m. My interview took just almost a minute.
Lady at the window was looking truly professional and strict. She asked me couple of quesitons and I gave every answer straight away. So below are the series of questions she asked:
Me: Good morning.
VO: Very good morning.
VO: So, your petitioner is TATA?
Me: Yes.
VO: Who is your end client?
Me: XYZ.
VO: So, what you are going to do for XYZ?
Me: Explained the task that I was going to do for XYZ in business language. No technical details.
VO: Is there any specific technology or tool from which you will do it?
Me: I explained her about the tool and the overall idea of it.
VO: SO, with the help of this tool you will able to do ABCD?
Me: Yes, this tool actually have different components and these components together will help me to perform this task.
VO: Sir, what is your highest qualification?
Me: I didn't understand the question. She asked me what was your highest qualification and I heard it as where did you do your highest qualification. SO just wanted to make clear the question, I asked her politely. Sorry, I didn't get your question. You asked me about my highest qualification or from where did I complete it. She repeated the question then slowly and I replied correct answer for it.
VO: OK sir, here I am approving your visa today. You will be getting your passport in next 4 to 5 days. Have a nice day.
Me: Thanks. Thank you very much. Have a nice day.
After listening these golden words, I came out with a happy heart outside silently as others were also waiting for their visa to be approved.

Write down standard questions and answers. Just do a 2 mock interviews with yourself. We have to understand the VO position perspective. During work hours he /She will take many interviews. Make sure we don’t have to irritate him/her. Simple steps Listen—think( 5-10 sec) and answer.
Must n should know about your folder,what document contains in each row. Try to Carry harmonium folder.
Try to go through documents before you go to bed.
Day of the interview:
I woke up 2 hours prior to appointment time. I have gone through below of them
1. Each row of Folder and what it contains. Just like indexing.
2. Interview prepared sheet
3. Appointment letter,DS-160,H1b (i-797),i-129.
At Consulate: I was there at VFS office 20mins prior appointment, Queued up in line. There are 4 section in this process
1. Booth guard: you have to show DS-160,Appointment letter ,passport and HDFC receiept. . He /she will give you token number.
2. Security checkDon’t carry any electronics, metal items. Folder clips are fine. They will check your DS-160,Appointment letter ,passport and HDFC receiept and folder followed by body scan.
3. Finger print section: You have to watch on TV for your token. Based on display go that counter. They will see old/new passport, DS-160,appointment letter, HDFC and put rubber band on you docs. Then guide you to next window for finger print. Left hand 4fingers—right hand 4 fingers—two thumbs at time. Then you will guide to next building.
4. Interview building: Don’t disturb others, just listen what are the conversation going on and look at TV for your number: Once your number comes stand behind the line. Don’t be panic just listen whats going on. Then follows this questions.

H1B & H4 approved
Hi all,
I would like to first thank this forum and people who had shared their previous experience.
My first advice will be please carry all the relevant support documents with you. If you can substantiate what you speak the day is yours. Also please read your petition document once before going for the PAI. Mostly interviews do not last for more than 2 minutes. So initially 1 or 2 qns you may feel panic post which you will get the hold and confidence and you can answer with ease. For me mostly the same standard qns were asked like client name,location,salary(in dollars), roles and responsibility etc. My wife was not even asked a single question. My advice to all people attending interview will be is to carry all the documents to substantiate.

Hi All,
Attended the interview today.
I had my L1B rejected last time, xpected some questions bout the rejection, but the CO didnt seem to even notice that.
She asked me the following
Designation in India
Salary in India
Client Name
Project
Where is the client located.
Then asked for my LCA and I129.
What will be ur salary in US?
-- thats it.
She approved my visa. Said i will get it within 5 Working days
Attended the interview today.

H1B Stamped but mismtach with I797
Hi all,
My H1B got approved on 7th Feb in Mumbai but on 9th Feb I got a call from VFS that thye have made some typo error in my VISA and I will have to submit my passport to Pune VFS office for the correction.
Actually, in my I797 the Employer name is mentioned as YYYY X YYYY XX LLC, which is incorrect as it should have been INC not LLC. Now the VISA that I got has Employer name as YYYY .... INC which is correct but since it doesn't match the info in I797.
Can anyone tell me what will be and what should be corrected i.e. VISA or I797? How long could the correction process take?
Anyone with same issue?

First of all i want to that Everyone who posted their experience here. It helped a lot to me to prepare for my interview and gaining good knowledge and confidence...
My H1B got stamped at US Embassy New Delhi... Below was my experience:
Time slot was 10:15 .. Reached embassy around 9AM.
Entered US embassy at 10:15.
1. First They took our HDFC bank receipts and give us a token Number.
2. We are then directed to a queue to wait for our Token No.
3. When you token no. is displayed. We have to go to a counter where there was a lady. She verified my H1B details. After that she wrote petition type like mine was a BEP program so she wrote BEP on my covering letter.
4. Then we were directed to Finger printing. We gave all our Fingerprints and then waited for my token no. for Visa interview.
Finally after 5 minutes. my No. was displayed and i reached the counter.
VO was a lady. She approved 2 and rejected 1 Visa before me.(that's what i figured out from the expressions of ppl). She asked me below questions:
VO: Good MOrning Sir!
me: Good Morning mam!.. With a smile and confidence.
VO: Are you working for YYYY company?
me: Yes mam
VO: Who is your client?
ME: YYY
VO: Is it the first time you are applying for H1B visa?
ME: Yes man. This is the first time.
and then comes the Magic words.. You'r Visa is approved. You'll get your passport in 5 days.
As per my experience, key is the confidence, proper documents and know your details thoroughly. They can ask anything.
