We [ myself, wife and my son] had the H1B+H4 interview today at 10am in Chennai Consulate

We stood in the Q by 9:45am and entered for security check by 10am

By Mistake I had CD in my files, so i need to leave those outside as it is not allowed

After security, entered the first building, my token is called in one of the counter. The Indian officer checked all out document and taken only the Passports+I797+I129 and HDFC receipt sticker and asked us to go for counter 6 for finger printing

Finger printing is required only for 14yrs and above, my son is 5+ years so not needed

Then we are asked to go to the second building where we waited for around 10 mins and out number is called in

We greeted the VO and introduced outself and gave the Passport + other docs

The following are the questions and answers

1. Which company am I going to work? - YYY
2. Who is your client? - As a Software solution architect I will be providing architectural solutions to multiple customers / clients of YYYY
3. What is your highest qualification? Masters of Science in Software engineering
4. Did you do your MS in US? No, I did in India
5. How many years of experience you have in IT? 12 Years
6. Are you travelling with your family for the first time? Yes
7. Have you travelled to US before? No
8. Looking forward for Travel? Yes
9. Gave me the Labour rights pamplet to read thru - I told I have already gone thru and accepted the pamplet
10. Finally told me that our passports will reach within a weeks time

We came outside exactly by 11am, so in total it is just less than an hour door to door

All the best for all others who are going to attend

I had the same
token->collecting docs-> finger printing

My interview was at 10:45 AM @ Chennai but I was there at 9:30 AM and the security guy let me in.
I had a sealed transcript and they sent me out to open it. Had a box of tic tacs, they said i can't take it with me.

I was in interview line usually it was 3 waiting at any time in a counter.

My interview lasted for about 2 mins.

1) Have you been to us before ?
Me: Yes

2) Why ?
Me: I did my grad school in US

3) What was your degree ?
Me: I did my *** in **** * ****

4) Where do you work now?
Me: I work as *** at **** *

5) Tell me your job responsibilities?
Me: gave 3 sentences in a nut shell

6) Ok where is your office ?
I work out of *** office..

That was it. He just said you visa approved

asked me about white pamplet I said I know about it I have worked in US before...

I asked him can I pick up my passport rather than mailing it to me.
He gave the information about the VFS office and what are the document required to pick them up.

I was on my way out.

Just be casual in your speech, if you act as if your life relies on this he can, as a matter of fact I could it spot it..

It was the same story years ago when I went for my F1.

I myself saw several rejects and pink slips.

H1 B Visa under processing
Hi Friends,

I have given the US Visa interview on 9th Feb, 2012, but consular kept my passport with all those supporting documents and told me that they will review my documents and you will get your passport within one week. Consular didn't gave any slip or form.

Since then I haven't received any communication from anyone. I have checked my passport status at VFS site but for last 13 days it is showing "Passport is under Process at US embassy".

Can anybody help me in that?
Have anyone experience the same?

Please do help in this regards

got 221(g).
I appeared for H1B interview 21st Feb 9:45am.
After few questions I was given 221(g) :

221(g) form requires me to submit internal project details. There appears to be some confusion here. As I am going to work for the client ( XX at my Employers work location). And I was carrying all the required documents possible - client letter, master agreement, company ITR for last 2 years...
I was not asked to show these docs right then and there instead I now need to submit these to VFS for further review.

Not sure If there is any possibility of stamping or not.

I came back to immi help to search if there is any such scenario which is similar to mine. But here I only see positive cases most. So I request you all ppl who visit immihelp for help and then go for VISA interview plz share your experiences both negative and positive. This might be helpful for others.

H1B Visa Interview
Hi,

I had taken the H1B visa interview at Kolkata last week, and would like to thank immihelp for helping me in preparing for the same. I has read quite a few comments posted here and would admit that the same helped me in boosting my confidence, I was asked the following questions and my interview got over in less than 3 mints:

Were are you going?
What is the purpose of your visit?
What is your client name?
Is any one travelling with you?

After I answered the above, I was informed that my visa has been approved:):)

H1b visa experience in chennai on Jan 15th
Hi everyone i want to share my H1b experience with you in Chennai embassy...

I am from Hyderabad but my company booked a slot in Chennai. So i went to Chennai by Chennai Express. My interview is scheduled @ 8.30 am.
I reached Chennai @ 6.15 am; in Chennai central station we have a wonderful facility for fresh up i.e. AC dormitory: 1hr 30rs
So I did not go for taking a hotel room which is time waste and money waste. I just freshed up and left to US Embassy @ 7.30 am. Auto person charged 100 rs from central to us embassy.

8.15 i have entered into line for taking token. Once token is allotted security check will be done. Guys do not take mobiles, cd`s, usb`s.. Which are not allowed into embassy.

After going in you will be asked to wait for your token. Just checked in lcd tv. Every token will be displayed with counter number.
Go to the concerned counter, here they will be asked to submit “Passport, DS-160 confirmation, I797, LCA docs”. These docs will be rubberband and will guide to go to next counter for finger prints.
Then the security will guide to go the interview location. Same way you need to wait to get your token number displayed in tv.
After that just gone to the counter and interview starts

VO: Hi Good Morning Sir
ME: Very Good Morning Sir

ME: How are you doing Sir
VO: I am doing g7 sir

VO: Pass the documents (Rubberband Documents) which consists Passport, DS-160 confirmation, I797, LCA
ME: Passed

VO: Which company you will work
ME: ABC Company in XYZ location

VO: So are you working in client location
ME: Yes Sir, i will work in client location (Direct client)

VO: Which Location
ME: ABC location

VO: Are there any middle vendors between your employer and client
ME: No Sir

VO: Tell me about your project
ME: Briefly described

VO: Tell me about your responsibilities
ME: Briefly described

VO: Show me your client letter
ME: Shown

VO: Show me your employment letter
ME: Shown

VO: Show me your USICS letter
ME: Shown

VO: Show me your client contract letter (between employer and client)
ME: I tried to convince that i have only client letter

That’s end of my interview he gave me green form and asked me to submit all the documents with client’s contract.

Then he gave me white pamphlet and asked me to go through the pamphlet.

I said thank you sir, have a good day.
VO: You too sir.

Guys, don’t be tensed be confident and answer the questions in single line. In Chennai embassy everyone is friendly and helpful.

9.15 i can out of the embassy
