gave yellow slip in pending case
In the first interview I got blue slip for submitting documents. I went again to Mumbai consulate for submission. After waiting a long in the line reached to the window. VO didn't asked me anything and said you have two option either you withdraw your petition or we'll withdraw your petition. I was shocked. He was not even ready to see my documents. He was forcing me to withdraw the petition. After a long long discussion of about 30-45 mins. I said I'm not going to withdraw my petition if you want to do it you can but please accept my documents. He collected all my docs. and he said good luck for your future. you will get the notification about your revoked petition in couple of months.
God knows what will happen now??
does any of you have faced this kind of situation?

Thanks.

My experience at Chennai Embassy on Feb 16th 2011
Hi all,

thanks to all those who are posting their experiences with the H1B stamping , this helped me a lot to get all the necessary documents.
My present working scenario is Employer -> vendor -> Client and this stamping is for my Extension (got the extension in 2009 but went for stamping now)
I have taken all the documents listed in every possible forum.
first of all make sure your photo meets all the requirements, white background, brightness...etc. they are asking most of the people who has taken photos in U.S to get the photos again at their Embassy.

Questions asked to me
VO: How many years you have been working for YYYY company?
VO: Who's your Client?
VO: What's your highest degree? (I did my Masters)
VO: Can you give me your contract between the Client and your Company?
me: I gave the contract between YYYY vendor and my company and gave the letter I got from my Client. (I didn't get the Contract between Client and the vendor - as they don't provide us with that information, besides never saw this doc required in any of the forums)
and he asked me about the YYYY vendor, so explained the relation btw client, vendor and my Company.
VO: Do you have the contract btw YYYY vendor and the Client
me: I have showed him the client letter and the YYYY vendor and my company letter( which he didn't even see for a glance) and said " anyone can write anything on a letterhead, we need the contract" .
me: explained again that I have the contract btw my company and YYYY vendor and have the Client letter ( by the way in the Client letter they have mentioned about my company also.As I have particularly asked them so that the relation is established Client-> vendor-> Employer)
VO:Can you give me the petition letter that your company filed with USCIS?
me:gave him that - in that my Company has listed an Inhouse project for 3 years which got completed in a year before my current project.
VO: You cannot work in any other project , other than the listed one in your petition, as your company got H1B extension.
me: I have explained him that the project has completed and I took this new project (current) as my Employer offered this new one - (besides we all know that SAP projects are done in a very aggressive time lines and I thought he might understand this)
VO: he got serious and was constantly asking me for the Contract between Client and YYYY Vendor (which I don't have)

So he gave me a 221 g (blue) listing all the documents that I have there already (client letter,Contracts btw all the companies) along with the "entire work schedule from the date the petition is approved till the end")and mentioned that I don't have to come to an interview again, but just drop off all the documents VFS services.

I'm constantly thinking in my head - what if I have the contract btw the YYYY vendor and the Client. but don't have an answer for the second question (about the petition letter to USCIS), as projects do end and we take up new projects.

I'm right now in the process of getting the contract and that work schedule to submit(but I think it's just my dumb luck to get the questions like this)and hoping for the best.

It feels awful, after working for so many years and getting into a situation like this.
So pls make sure you get all the contracts (just not the letters on letterheads). this is not to scare you but just explaining my experience.

Wish you all the Best
Kanthi

Expired H4 stamping with extended H1 approved I797
Hello,

My wife had attended H4 visa interview today and got the stamping with my extended I979 approval copy without H1 stamping...

I would like to share my experience in filing the D160 form....

My wife has a individual I797 approval for her H4 petition. In D160-Travel Information I selected principal application 'YES' and there is no option in the list to select spouse/child for h1/h2 workers.... Even though H4 has individual I797.. they are not a principal applicant, so select 'NO' and give the h1 applicant I797 informations....

H1B Visa Pending With Admin Process
I have attended H1B Visa interview on 14th Feb 2011. My interview was at 10.15AM. I reached exactly 9.00AM. There was not much rush. So I have entered in a short span of time. First round of document verification was started in the first building. I had old photo so officers asked me to take photo as they provide that service (100/-). Taking new photo made me little late. First round of document verification and fingerprint scanning was done by 10:30AM. I was allowed to go to the next building to attend the interview.

I have waited for a long time to get my turn in the second building for interview. After waiting for 1 hour I did not get my turn. So I have approached to the Indian volunteer at 11:40AM to get my slot. They have taken me to Window No 22 , person looked like Morkel (Fast Bowler of South Africa). Here it goes: -

Consulate: Good Morning.
Me: Very Good Morning.

Consulate: How are you?
Me: I am good, thanks. How about you?

Consulate: Good. Sorry to keep you wait for long time, as there was some problem in system.
Me: Smiled and replied, No problem.

Consulate: File.
Me: Given.

Consulate: What is your salary in USA?
Me: Replied.

Consulate: What is your salary in India?
Me: Replied.

Consulate: What is your highest qualification/degree?
Me: Masters in Computer Applications.

Consulate: How long you are working for the company?
Me: 3.6Years.

Consulate: What is your Designation?
Me: Analyst Programmer.

Consulate: Why are you going USA?
Me: To get a global exposure and a good salary.

That’s it, he told one of my colleagues wants to interview you in window no 31 and he has given a 221G Form (Pink) for further Admin Process.

I went and waited at the window no 31; lady came and asked for my file. She asked me few questions: -

Lady: Which are the countries you have visited other than Singapore?
Me: I told no.
Lady: How long you are working with TCS?
Me: 3.6Years.

Lady: Was TCS your first company?
Me: Yes

Lady: Where are you from?
Me: Born and brought up at Kolkata. Studied in Bangalore.

Lady: We need to know some additional information so right now I am keeping your file and passport. You need not come here again. You will get your passport at your location. The process will take 8 – 10 weeks.
Me: Thanks. I have a question.

Lady: Please.
Me: Why are you doing the admin process?

Lady: This is confidential to our process and we cannot disclose this. Don’t worry.
Me: Thank You.

H1B Visa @ Chennai
I attended my H1B Visa interview today(Feb 16) at Chennai. VO asked the standard questions like - Degree, Client Name, location, salary. He returned all my documents except the passport and the BEP letter. He then said "we will verify your petition and send the passport with in a week".

Does this means the visa is approved? or something needs to be further verified? please advise.

Before i went to the interview my documents were verified and there was a note written on my petition by the reviewer (I'm unable to read it as it was scribbled).
