Regarding Visa extension
Me and my wife booked an appointment on dec-27th-2010 and on that day consular asked me few ?'s like How long been married, which company r u working for and whom u r going 2 report.Thaen i Answered working for X and Vendor is Y and End client is Z.Then she didn't ask any contract on that day and gave 221G.We came back from Mumbai consulate to my native(Andhra)After that i received an email from consulate that you admin process completed so no need to come to consulate and mentioned that drop the docs @ VFS.So i sent all docs to my friend in Mumbai and when he went there they told INPERSON needed to submit only primary H1B is enough to come over here.So i flew to Mumbai and again standing in line for Interview on Jan-7th-2011.Then Consular asked me to show the Contract then i gave that ,after seeing that consular asked me who is paying for u then i told X is paying and in the contract i am not seeing any contarct between X & Z so here 1-2-3 is there(Saying lost the Flow. Then consular saying if you apply a petition thru Y then i will give u the visa.He sent me back by giving the passports back.He told me that we are going to send your X petition for revocation. So my employer attorney working and would you please let me know how much time it will take for this process. Thanks in advance

I had a 4” file full of documents with me at the consulate. The process to move people from the time you enter the consulate till the visa interview was very good and well organized. At the interview I was asked what I do, highest degree, and about my company.

VO asked to see W2 and pay stubs and after a short 3 minutes at the counter, VO told me the visa was approved and that’s it. I was on my way out of the consulate.

H1b Extension stamping-New Delhi-Green Form
Hello Guys. Thanks for all the information and collective effort to provide most updated information.
Went for H1b Extension stamping 20th Jan-2011 with my wife on H4.
QS: How long you have been working with this company?
Whats your current profile and description of roles and responsibilities?
Whats the relation between your company and client?(Employer-Vendor-Client)
Previous employment/client details?
E.t.c

Then...Here comes Green form-221G .
I was returned my Passport and I797 petition and handed over a 221G form. They took Client letter,I129 petition and H1b extension documents.

So i am not sure how much is waiting period now in case Visa gets approved.
Thanks and keep sharing.
(Note: Keep in mind that Delhi US embassy is not the best place to take a chance for H1b stamping these days as per my expierence now.)
Cheers

As most of the questions mentioned in almost all of the user experiences here, it is very rare that an interview officer ask you a a new question , just read few experience and quesion aksed and you are all set.

You cant escape nervousness if it is your first Visa interview but take it as advantage and go well prepared.

My experience says that all an Interview officer does is "cross verification" by asking question from the data/documents/professional expereince you have mentioned in your DS form as well as in your petition.

I had my interview schedulded at New Delhi and as most of the user experience says , following question were asked:

- How long with current company
- Higest Degree
- Name of Client
- How long working with same client
- Where will you be working in US
- Skill set

nothing asked to my wife who went with me for H4.

All the best to everyone!!

Thanks to all of you, for your help.

3 things :

1) Client.
2) Role there.
3) Highest degree .

keep cool.(I know guys waiting will have their own level of tension, only God and Visa Officer can end that).

Few Tips:
1) Tall guys don't lean to mike, stay straight and answer (Cos I was asked to stay straight, as she spotted me leaning).
2) Keep ur ears sharp, cos they consider themselves audible. But that is not the case. In my case VO had mike on left and desktop on right. Whenever she speaks while typing, was really difficult to hear.
3) Please don't get confused about Document verfication, going to building 2 for stamping etc..... be like a KG student, there are enough guys to assist you.... keep watching for ur number on screen(same number for data verification and intervieew), thats all.... even if its not coming u can go to the guys assisting them.....

Best of luck guys..... Like me, Dream about the moment, you will be posting ur successful experience here in immihelp....

Thanks and Regards,
VS

Hi All

First let me thank you to all who have posted their experience.

Today is my interview and my time of interview is 1.00pm. But i went there by 12 pm. Not too much people today.

So, i went inside, completed the other formalities in 5 mins and was there in counter in 2 mins.

VO asked only 2 questions.

What is ur Designation?
What is ur Highest Degree?

Then the golden words came..

"Your Visa is approved and will get ur passport in one week"

Thats it.

Thanks to all and all the best.

Suresh

H1B Stamping pending status.
I went to Mumbai for stamping on 18th Jan,2011.

VO asked me common questions like why you want to go to US ? you get paid regularly? do you work for client? and then she said look "your company YYYY does not follow US Laws" so either you revoke your application or I will write draft to DHS to revoke your application. then i said I will prefer not to sign that letter by signing and revoking my own application. then she took some blue form out and asked List of employees, unemployment wage reports and IT returns from my employer as well as client letter and she marked those documents submitted in blue form(VO did not gave me that blue form). and then she returned my passport without saying anything. everything including passport,I-797 are with me.

does same thing happened to anyone?

Guidence on H1B
Hi,

I got H1B petition approval in 2008, Now i got the offer in one of the US company so i am planning to attend the H1B interview in feb-2011.

I think the Vo may ask the reason for the delay on attending the H1B interview.
Please guide me, what we can say to them....how to manage this situation.

Regards,
Shekar
