About SEVIS check

I had interview on 25th in Hyderabad and was given back all docs plus 221g blue slip. The VO informed my applications will need administrative processing as it need SEVIS check and clearence.

I am from f1 to h1 and has been in opt for 6 months only after successful course completion in 2014.

I was applied h1 B through same employer last year but even though lottery picked, it later got into RFE and finally rejected. I was working in india for 5 years after I got back from US. My employer is the one I found out during my opt period but never worked with him.

My doubt is, if they do a SEVIS check, will I be in some issue as I came back while in opt and has never informed the collage. Was there something I Was supposed to do at the time I left?

I had updated my Collage initially when I got opt and then due to some family emergency travelled back and worked in India but never communicated to my collage. I was never been out of status also.

Could some one please help me on this?

H1B Administrative Processing, Mumbai. No Slips
Hello Guys,

Visa Type: F1 (Including OPT CAP GAP) >> First H1-B
Location: Mumbai
Interview Date: 20th Nov 2019.

Reached on time for 9:30 Interview at US Consulate in Mumbai. Waited for 1 hour before my turn came.Following conversation occurred with VO

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning Sir, How are you doing?
VO: Good, pass me your Passport and i-797A.
ME: Gave Docs
VO: So How long you been you working?
ME: Told
VO: You did Master's form YYYY Univ.
ME: Yes, Graduated in YYYY year.
VO: Do you work for Employer or End Client?
ME: End Client
VO: Asked Client name, Work location
ME: Told
VO: What's you Salary?
ME: YYYY per annum.
VO: I see some remarks on XX date this year. something happened that day? Were you employed full time during your complete OPT period.
ME: Nope nothing happened . I was employed since start of my OPT and not out of status anytime including CAP GAP.( I only had current employer and same client since start of my OPT)
VO: I see. Looks like some glitch in our system then.
ME: All of sudden remembered I had DMV SAVE verification for driver license extension for H1-B duration. Told VO
VO: Ohh I see. We will verify your status and will do some administrative processing. Don't worry about it. When are you Traveling back?
ME: Told
VO: I will keep your passport for further processing. Gave me generic instructions slip for How to pickup your passport once process is done.
ME: Thank you. Have a great day.

Looks like, because DMV opened a case for i-94 ( new i-94 of i-797A wss not updated) verification during my CAP GAP period to extend license from 30th Sept 2019 to H1B end date, USCIS thinks I was out of status. Hopefully they clarify the issue soon.

CEAC Status:

19th Nov: Case created
20th Nov: Case updated with Administrative processing
26th Nov: Still Under Administrative processing.

Anyone face similar situations , feedback will be appreciated . Thank you

H1B approved, no slips, no CEAC update, Administrative Processing
Hi guys,

Visa Type : F1 --> H1B
Location : New Delhi
Interview Date : 23rd October 2019

I gave my h1b interview on Oct 23rd at New Delhi consulate and no slips were given to me.

The visa officer said during the interview that my visa is approved and took my passport. She said there is a glitch in their system since its showing the older name of my company ( My company’s name changed after they merged with another bigger company in 2015).

She said should get my passport in a week. I received my passport after a week at home ( i had opted for premium delivery). On checking there was no visa in it.
On tracking the visa at CEAC, it says its in administrative processing. Neither my employer nor me have received any email or notification for any documents or anything yet.

About me:

I am a fulltime employee with a medium size software company based out of California. I was on my 1st OPT (Didn't apply for stem ext since my h1b was approved). MS Comp Science

Anyone on the same boat?

my exp H1B Hyd
Hi All,
My experience...
F1->OPT->H1->H1 Transfer…-> H1 extension. (Almost 7 years on H1)
07NOV2019: VAC. nothing much, I was out in 5 min. Make sure not to carry and electronic devices, only appointment, DS-160 confirmation, passport are need.
11NOV2019: I was at consulate before 40 min ahead of my scheduled time and I was immediately allowed to enter the gate. The security check was a breeze. I have arranged all the supporting documents in order, but the security check had made me empty document folder and I had to rearrange them again after the security check. Also, make sure that you do not carry any sealed covers.
Actual interview
VO: next.
Me: Good morning officer.
VO: your passport, please.
Me: handed over both expired and new passport.
VO: which company do you work for?

VO: do you work directly with ABC.
Me: yes officer.
VO: Your title
Me: XYZ
VO: is your previous H1B with the same ABC
Me: Yes officer.
VO: where is it located city and state.
Me: ZZZ, YYY.
VO: your Visa is approved, have safe travel.
Me: thankyou officer and have a nice rest of your day.

H1B dropbox -> 221g blue with no interview or no additional docs requested, but just admin processin
Hi All,

Here is my case.
I'm on H1b since 5 years and recently changed my employer and currently in EVC model.

Nov 21st: Dropped docs at VAC Bangalore
Nov 22nd: "Case Received"
Nov 25th: "Administrative processing"
Nov 26th: Passport available for pick up

Picked up passport and found a blue slip saying " application refused for administrative processing, application will be reconsidered once admin process is complete"

What's weird is the 221g slip did not ask me to attend an interview nor asked me to submit any docs!
Have any of your heard such cases? Based on other posts, I was expecting an interview call in 221g as I changed my employer recently, but yeah..

Kindly let me know if any of you have heard any such cases.

Thanks!

F1 to H1 221g
I had my interview on 25th of November at HYD consulate. I'll also keep updating this thread for anyone's reference
Profile: Masters in CS
Direct FTE at a fortune 500 company.

Here's my experience::

VO:Hello and takes my passport
ME: Hi, applying for H1B
VO: Is this your first H1B stamping?
ME:Yes, change of status from F1 to H1B
VO:What's your designation
Me:told
VO:Whats your highest degree
ME:Masters in CS
VO:Do you know your rights in the US?
ME: Yes I do, I've gone through them.
VO:Ok, does some typing. and then said we'll have to do some administrative processing and hands me a white slip.

Just today I saw there was an update on my SEVP portal, some previous employment authorization seems to have been deleted. I was on Cap-gap from July to Oct 1st? Anyone else has a similar experience?

One more funny thing is that my case was created 3 days before by interview on Nov 22nd lol.

H1B, Visa Approved, But Administrative Processing and Processes for Delivery
Hi,

I appeared for a company sponsored H1b Visa Interview recently. Following are the details:

Nov 20 : Fingerprint, OFC
Nov 21: Visa Interview. VO said Visa is approved and will receive the passport shortly.
Nov 22: CEAC status says "Administrative Processing"
Nov 27: Checked "USTravelDocs", it says " Passport has been received from the Consular Section and is currently being processed for delivery. However, CEAC status is still "Administrative Processing"

Does this mean this is mean a 221G or is there a need to be worried? Have there been similar cases from your experiences in the past?
