Got Visa after 221(g)
Hi All,

Good morning to all the seekers. Its a very pleasure for me to share my experience that I encountered at Chennai consulate. First let me thanks to this valuable site and good wishes. First time I have attended interview on Jan 9th, at that time the VO has given me 221(g), in which end client letter and the address where I will be staying during project time. The VO has put me just 3 questions

1. Folder
2. M.C.A certificate
3. End client letter

before asking the client letter he has gone through my passport, he found my previous H1B Visa and just asked for Client Letter. I was not in a position to produce the letter. I said I don't have. The VO said, "I am not disappointing you, If you produce the Client Letter, I can issue the Visa" He has returned all the documents and gave a blue paper. I showed the query letter to my H1B sponsor, and he said he will provide me in 15 days. He took exactly 2 months to send all the required documents. This time too, I went to consulate again on 9th March with full confidence and faith in God. Allowed all 221(g)'s after 10:30 AM. There was a big 'Q'. The volunteer told all 221(g)'s should stand at counter 4. The interview was going smooth. By seeing that, all got relaxed and waiting for their turn. At some moment, a lady volunteer came and told to stand in the 3 counter line. All got surprised and a little bit nervous. Because at the counter 3 the VO is a man asking many questions and interviewing for about 15-25 min. My turn was 4th. Before me all got Visa's. Now my turn, he has asked me for the file and asked me for the client letter. He searched something in the system and said Visa has been approved and told me to pay the fee. That's it. Too cool and too easy. So Folks don't get dishearted and nervous. Be cool and get prepared with the required documents.

Hello Everyone,

Contrary to the fact that everyone believes that VO's are very arrogant. It is not exactly true.I hwish to share a very rare experience of mine.I am surethat none of you would have gone through this. Here's how my interview went:

VO: How are u doing today Sir?
Me: Good
VO: May I see your degree certificates?
Me: I gave them
VO: May I see your experience certificates?
Me: Here you go Sir?
VO: He started checking in details when suddenly he said that he had concerns over the genuinity of this certificate.
Me: I was dazed and started to wonder if this guy had gone crazy.Anyway I wasnt really that bothered because I knew I had nothing to fear as these were all original documents. The VO took the papers and went inside for a few minutes and came back and said that these were fake and said he would help me by returning the docs. or the other option was to meet another officer and in case I was found to be wrong I would be denied a visa permanently to the USA or even have me arrested. It was too much for me to take but I very politely told him if that was the case I would like to speak to this officer. He discouraged me a lot,but I was hell bent on talking to this guy who according to me was trying to play god.At that point I really didnt care whether I get a visa or not. I waited for an hour when they called my name. I was taken to a closed room(I dont think anyone would have been here). I had two americans one observer and other was questioning me. They started cross questioning me and about half an hour they were convinced.THey were very polite thereafter and said that due to a lot of fake H1B employers they resort to such antics. They anyway said that they more than willing to give me a visa based on my credentials. They asked me to continue with my interview.I waited again for about 20 min.when the visa officer called me again.

VO: (He verified some documents and then said)Sir I see that you are well qualified technically and I would be very happy to provide you a visa but I am not convinced that your employer has a project for you once you get there so I would need you to get me some more documents.Saying this he gave me a 221(g)forms.
Me: Thank you Sir.

Dont be disheartened if your employer is genuine he should be able to provide all the docs.So guys its all about having the right documents, confidence and after that it's gods will.

H1B approved at Bbay
I had two mistakes on my forms.
1. The passport date of issue was wrong in DS156
2. In DS157 had a question regarding the country which has issued Passport, and I had written Japan there.

So initially I was a bit scared since I could not modify the first mistake on the form. When I went to the VFS office to submit my papers and told them that there is a mistake in my form, the lady there asked to cancel the appointment or to take the risk. I decided to go ahead with the mistakes.

When I went for the interview, there was a lady at the entrance who handed over my form and asks you to go for finger scan. I told her that there are mistakes in my form submitted. She just asked me to correct it with a pen and write my initials there. And then the interview was smooth. The VO was not even involved in this case.

I would again like to say the same thing, that if you are confident the VO will not ask you for any documents, esp at bbay. They are cool. I hope this information is useful.

Regards,
Nisha
