221g at chennai counsellate
Hi Sp,
Yes You can get stumped, provided you should convince the VO with the Contract papers, as my close friend got his H1 recently(1week back) in the same manner. If you have some PO's(Purchase Orders) that will be advantage for you. all depends on your luck and convicing power. ALL THE BEST.

221g at chennai counsellate
Hai Everybody.

I was issued 221 g for the second time for a client letter at chennai counselate. But my employer is saying that its impossible to produce a client letter instead he will give me the contract between our company and a third party and the contract between that third party and the end client. Is it possible to get stamped if we produce those. Is anyone there who have stamped with these sort of docs. Your suggestions really counts. Looking after for the guidance from you all.

Thanks & Regards
Sp

Successful H1 at Chennai consulate
Hi All,

I would like to thank everyone in this group for sharing their valuable experience and so do I. My H1 interview at the Chennai consulate was at 12.45 on 2nd Mar.
I reached the consulate around 12 and walked into the security check up line (you can ask the security whether you could stand in the line for that time slot).
There are 5 stages in the entire process, let me walk you thru' the different stages.
1. In the first, there is a security check they verify your passport and the web appointmnet receipt only. Stage one DONE.
2. Then you enter a room where there is a another security checkup, they check whether you have any gadgets, sealed envelopes etc. Stage two DONE.
3. Then you enter another room, where you will find 5/6 counters mostly Indians sitting in the driver seat. Depending on the rush, to reach the counter queue you have
to stand in a line first. The staff will make you stand in a counter queue, Now here you need to be a bit careful to carry the correct set of docs and give in the counter.
The docs are
a.I797
b.DS156
c.DS157
d.I129
e.H1 employer appt letter
f.H1 employer letter to consulate
g.HDFC receipt

They basically check whether you have required docs, typos etc.If you dont carry the correct docs, this stage could well be the 'GAME UP'. In this stage, you can have drinking water
, there is a wash room too. Dont feel shy or nervous to use any of them.

If all goes well, the above said docs are put in a folder and given back to you. Then you have to stand in a another queue to proceed to the Visa room(another building). The queue might be
lengthy, so be mentally prepared for a hot weather and long waiting times. Stage three DONE.

4. Sit back and relax as I take you thru the real big one. Welcome to the 'HAPPENING PLACE', this is the stage where things can go either way. You enter the visa room
this room is really kool(I mean this is an AC room ;)). There will be staff who will guide you there. You have to sit in certain areas before finally reaching the counter queue
for the finger printing. You will find a really wonderful and polite person to help you thru finger printing process. Left index finger first then the right. I have hardly seen
anyone lose at this stage unless your really dumb you should go on to the next stage.

5. The GRAND FINALE, as time passes you wouldnt realise you will end up in one of the counter queue's for the final visa interview with the VO. This is the stage
where you need to be at your best. A little bout myself, I work in a small 25+ startup firm and so is my H1 employer. I found people all around me with all big banners,
big companiess CMM5 etc in the visa room. You may find some going gaga over their companies and their H1 chances.Dont feel nervous, dont give up, you always have a chance.
Be confident, big banners may choke when it matters the most(just kidding...). I just kept my concentration going on . Kept going and then ...

VO: Waves his hand
ME: I walk to the counter(body language is important here.)

VO: How are you SIR.
ME: Doing good. How bout you?

VO: What computer programming languages do you know?
ME: X,Y,Z

VO: Can I have you Degree?
ME: Yes sure

VO: Show me your marksheets?
ME: Showed it. Verified it.

VO: Where did u learn these comp. languages?
ME: I am X,Y,Z certified professional. showed it.

VO: Where are you currently working?
ME: ABC

VO: Show me your apt letter for this ABC?
ME: showed it.

VO: What project are you currently working on?
ME: Explained my current project.

VO: What project are you going to work in US?
ME: Explained it thoroughly. Showed some literature on the same, client letter etc

VO: Well Sir, you can take all these docs(which i showed him...) back. Your visa is approved , please go and pay your fees.
ME: Thank you Sir..... Thats it I have done it. Hurrah.....

Successfully Got Visa
Hi Everybody,

First of all thanks for who posted about their experiences. I got Visa Suucessfully after getting Query on 1st march 2006.

When I reach Embassy at 10:40 AM, itz full of pack today. Atlastly, at 11'o clock I stood in the Q outside. Waiting waiting waiting...... atlastly, around 1'o clock I entered in to the main Entrance.

First Step: They checked the passport & required documents and thos docs put in to the blue folder and gave back to me.

Second Step: Now, I' m entered in to main Visa Lobby. Itz also full of pack inside. There is lot of Q's and somany persons are sitting. Wait for 10-15 mins for sitting. After 30 mins first call for finger checking. She told to me, u r not required. Itz alraedy over last time. So I came back and sat the same place for some time.

Third Step: Now, once again sat behind the interview counters and also all 221(g) guys sat gettogether.

Fourth step: Lastly, I assigned to one Q for Interview. In that Q also, around 1-1 1/2 hr I stood. I feel irritating & boring. Atlast, around 5:55PM my turn has came.

Me: Good Evening Sir

VO: Godd Evening, How are you?

Me: i 'm fine sir.

VO:asked about company project details & Role.

Me: I explained the brief introduction about project & Role of project.

VO: He satisfied with answers, but he said to me I have some more questions for U. That sohuld be ask another officer. So plz go back and sit some time.

Me: Now, tension starts. Bcoz, in front of me that VO rejects around 3-5 persons. This time I little bit disappointment.

VO: He called me, Hello Mr. Sharat Babu Mandava

Me: Good evening Sir

VO: He not responding anything

VO: He told me something about my employer.

Me: I din't get from him.

VO: He gave a white paper & told to me pay fee in 1st counter.

Me: Thank U sir,

Me: I went to 1st counter and paid the fee.

Any way, I got Visa. I' m so happy. Thanking for posting all your experinces.

Plz be confident. Then U get visa easily.

Thanking You for all ,
SHARAT BABU MANDAVA
