H1B, H4 Visa

I had two mistakes on my forms.
1. The passport date of issue was wrong in DS156
2. In DS157 had a question regarding the country which has issued Passport, and I had written Japan there.

So initially I was a bit scared since I could not modify the first mistake on the form. When I went to the VFS office to submit my papers and told them that there is a mistake in my form, the lady there asked to cancel the appointment or to take the risk. I decided to go ahead with the mistakes.

When I went for the interview, there was a lady at the entrance who handed over my form and asks you to go for finger scan. I told her that there are mistakes in my form submitted. She just asked me to correct it with a pen and write my initials there. And then the interview was smooth. The VO was not even involved in this case.

I would again like to say the same thing, that if you are confident the VO will not ask you for any documents, esp at bbay. They are cool. I hope this information is useful.

first of all thanks to the members who are maintaining this useful site. and my thanks to the members who are positing there experiences. I went to chennai for my H1-B visa interview last two months back. Vo told me to send some more documents through tts drop box. I have sent all those required documents through tts dropbox. after one and half month i got my visa. one thing is that do not lose your hopes after getting 221g perfectly show your zeal to collect all the required documents. and i wish everyone should get the positive result at the end of the day.

 I got my visa approved last week . Now I am getting married next month . Does my employer needs to file petition for H4 for my wife or Can i do it on my own . Please explain the procedure for H4.

I have a quick question ..

Due to short time left 4 interview, my employer has scanned W2 forms and shared soft copies of proj details. He asked me to take printout on bond papers and take to VO.

Are scanned copies acceptable.??

i have appointment in June. I'm planning to get married by then. Can she join me for h4 visa? or does she need another appointment? wht should i do to make her join with me to consulate?

I am a H4 applicant. In the DS 156 form I forgot to add my maiden name initially and have to put it as NA. Now the VFS site doesn't let you modify the passport details.

Can I cross the "NA" and write my maiden name in the printed form before going?
Can some one reply as its very urgent.

comming to me ,i have attended interview for the first time on 20 Jan 2006 and got 221(g).
I was not having end client letter first time when i attended the interview,to over come the client letter, i was forced to mention that i will be working on IN_HOUSE Project.So here are my expriences when i attended interview for the first time


Vo:Gud morning mam
me:Gud morning Sir
Vo:How are you doing
Me:Fine thank u
Vo:can i have the folder
me:Handed over the folder
Vo:Can i have ur Degree Certificate
Me:handed over my certificate.

Me:Inhouse project

1>>Photographs (15) of the inside and outside of the petitioner's work premises.
2>>A list of all of the petitioner's active projects. Identify the client and point of contact with the client including a phone number and e-mail address for that person. If the contract with the client is held by a third party, provide names and contact information for that party as well. Do not send a batch of contracts in lieu of this documentary requirement.
3>>A detailed and specific description of the internal development project to which the beneficiary will be assigned include the complete technical description of the project, timeline, current status, number of employees assigned to it, location of the worksite and a marketing analysis for the final product.

I got all these documents from my employer

Second time i have attended interview on March 14 2006.
My interview was like this
Vo:Gud morning mam
me:Gud morning sir,How are u
Vo:Fine thank u
Vo:So do u have all the documents i have asked for(My luck was that he was the same person who interviewed me first time,so i could understand that there was some courtesy)
Me:said yes
Vo:can i have the doc
Me:handed him doc one by one
Vo:he was going thru the doc and was checking it out whether its genuine or not,i mean original letter pad or some fake doc
Vo:So wat project u will be workin on
Me: YYYY ZZZ
Vo:Can u explain me the project
Me:Explained him the project using technical terms, he was in search of the techinical terms in the description letter the one i gave him which i have used while explaning the project & was asking where can i find this word..that word etc....

VO:Mam i m issuing the visa, go n pay ur fee in counter 1
Me:Thank u sir n left

So my sincere advice is that those who got 221(g) need not worry they will get visa provided if they have all the doc whic VO requested for, apart from that be very confident even thougth what u are saying is not corrct/genuine.there were many 221(g) cases on tat day, n what i notice was there were ppl comming for more than thrice...... only becoz they were tensed n were not able to Answer them properly.
so don't get tensed n be cool that's it......Vo can understand your body language....

I attended the Chennai Consulate and VO asked me to bring the Marketing Analysis for Client Product. I produced the same in second time interview,but VO said it is not having the enough information.Can anybody give me the Marketing analysis Sample with Break Even Analysis,Return On Investment,Cost and Revenue Details.
I will appreciate your help.
