I have filed for Passport Renewal in "Normal" Track.
How much time would it take to go to next status from : "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate"...

Timeline:

01/07/2021 - FedEx delivered application at NYC Office
01/12/2021 - VFS Email and Text message - "Your application will be reviewed with 48-72 business hours.
You are requested to track the status of your application after 2-3 business days."
01/18/2021 - VFS Global Notification with Tracking ID (ARN)
01/19/2021 - VFS Site: Your Application has been ‘Processed’ at the VFS India Consular application Centre and currently is ‘In-Transit‘
                        to the Embassy of India/Consulate General of India for decision making.
01/19/2021 - VFS Site: Your application has been forwarded to the Embassy

01/20/2021 - Indian Embassy Site : Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.

Anyone facing same problem as me - Below mail received from the consulate

- After this there is no update on FedEx at time of posting this.

If anyone has faced this for delivery from NYC. Fedex tracking still showing "Pending".
Please share you experience. I hope to get in next one or two days.
Tracking FedEx continuously but no status update.

I had shipped the passport application to VFS Center SFO on 10th Jan 2021. The VFS office was impacted due to Covid but got reopened on 15th Jan 2021 and my application was delivered as per FEDEX tracking at 10:25AM. It was signed by J.JOYCE.
I have not got any SMS or Email acknowledgement from VFS. Sent several emails and called them as well and they are asking me to wait for another 5-6 business days as they were still processing the backlog. This is really frustrating as I do not know where my application is and what is the status on same. Please advise if anyone had similar experience and if this can be brought to notice of SFO consulate. Can consulate help me tracking my application? Also why did consulate chose such lousy service providers, we never had such issues with CKGS.

I received mail that you passport has been dispatched via courier.
When I tried to check with FedEx , it states delivery pending and will be updated once package is received.

Is any one in same boat. its been one day since the email was received.

If any one faced same delay. Any Input will be valuable.

Dec 19: Sent package via Fedex.
Dec 21: Packaged delivered
Dec 22: Email from VFS that package received
Dec 29: Under process at ICAC
Dec 30: Processed at ICAC and in transit to embassy

Jan 20: Print initiated
Jan 21: Passport has been printed.
Jan 22: Passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly.

Jan 23: Email from VFS " your application has been reviewed by Embassy and documents will be disptached"
Jan 25: Passports dispatched by VFS
Jan 26: Received my old and new passport

Another application i sent last week (Application in Tatkal for minor)
Jan 18: Sent package via Fedex
Jan 19: Package delivered.
----- No acknowledgement from VFS!!!!!----

I had shipped the passport renewal application to SFO center on 1/2/2021, the Fedex tracker shows that the package was delivered on 1/5/2021, Since then I have not received any confirmation (email/SMS) from VFS on whether the application has been received or is in progress. Last week I sent an email through contact us link to VFS and they mentioned they have escalated the case however there is no response yet. I even called them to get an update but got the same response that the case has been escalated.

Does any one have similar experience with SFO center ? Is there any other way to escalate instead of contact us / VFS Support number?

I received email today 26jan -Your Application has been reviewed by the Embassy of India/ Consulate General of India & will be dispatched within 24 – 48 business hours provided you had purchased or sent the return label.

The FedEx is not showing any status. Anyone know do they actually take another 1-2 days to ship.

Any one with this experience.

ANY ONE GOT PASSPORT RENEWAL COMPLETE IN WASHINGTON DC LATELY

I got an email from vfs global on 1/24 that” Your Application has been reviewed by the Embassy of India/ Consulate General of India & will be dispatched within 24 – 48 business hours provided you had purchased or sent the return label. ”
But I track my return label it still says estimated delivery pending .
Do anyone had this kind of experience and they got the passport ?

Dropped off packet at FedEx New York on 1/23/2021 (Saturday).
FedEx delivered packet to VFS New York on 1/15/2021 (Monday).
Received email from "[email protected]" on 1/26/2021 (Tuesday) around 11 AM saying we have received your packet..but due to huge volume of applications your processing maybe delayed.

I-94 linked to old passport is expiring in Feb 28, 2021 so I applied in Tatkal. Hopefully they VFS/Indian embassy do everything they have to do in-time, else I am in a world of trouble.

 My wife's passport was renewed in 2018 when CKGS was handling things...so smooth and effortless the in-person process was. I miss CKGS and in-person submission.
