How long does it take for the police to come to your place for verification?
I got the "Initiation of Police Verification Request" email on 2/24 (2 days ago). My parents are at the address I specified. The embassy status page states that my application is still under review. Out of curiosity, after how long do the police verification actually happens? My parents are wondering as well.

Issues with VFS NY in dispatching printed passport
My passport was handed over to VFS NY by Indian embassy on Feb 18. It has been a week and the tracking number shows that it hasn't been even picked up by FedEx. When I contacted them, VFS told that it would take 5-6 business days for dispatch. I have read many experiences from other users to get the passport in the next two days.
Anyone else faced or is facing similar issues in dispatching with VFS NY application center?

Passport renewal SFO package delivered to VFS on Feb23rd
Applied passport renewal for my minor child. VFS received package on Feb23rd 11:30 AM (Fedex Tracking). VFS sent mail on Feb24th Feb @1:15AM

Passport renewal
Hello,
I have sent my passport to New york center on Feb 7th and it was received by VFS on 8th Feb. I got a confirmation email on Feb 10th So far so good.
On Friday Feb 19th 7:09pm i got a email from VFS saying NOTARIZED US VALID PROOF OF LEGAL STATUS NOT RECEIVED. But i have a Valid Stamped Visa in my passport and a color copy of it. Now they are asking me for a Notarized color copy of visa, How can i sent the Notarized copy of my Visa, when they have the original with them (Why we should do Notarize when we are sending the original).
Then on Feb 19th at 7:32pm(which is 30 mins from i received the email) i called VFS Global Care center and posted my query to the customer representative and he replied saying he understands the situation/concern. he will escalate issue to the concern department please wait till Monday some one from our team will call you to resolve the issue.
On Monday morning that is Feb 22nd 7:59am i got a email saying below
Dear Customer,
your package has been received at the VFS application Centre. Our current processing times are longer than usual. Your application will be reviewed with 48-72 business hours. You are requested to track the status of your application after 2-3 business days.
But i didn't send any documents i thought they accepted my application and status will change in 2-3 business days. But status is not changed till now and when i email or call them i was not getting any appropriate response.
Note: in the email which i received of missing documents, it also says i should take action in 7 calendar days if not my application will be rejected
What are my options now here? Can anyone had this issue. Even after sending the having the original Stamped Visa in passport do we need to Notarize the copy color of visa again?

Minor Indian Passport renewal
Hi All,

San Francisco Normal Passport Renewal
Any experiences recently with SF embassy? I finally received acknowledgement from VFS that my application has been sent to the embassy (I sent in my application a month ago), it has not moved in the embassy for 10 days. Does anyone have an idea as to how long SF embassy would take to process the application?

To and Return label show same address " Indian application center " SFO
I bought Fedex Courier service from VFS website.Downloaded labels show show same courier address To "Indian Application ceneter " on return label too.

Help requested - Return Label by VFS
Hi,
Anybody who has received FedEx courier (passport) from VFS that has:
1. First address line of about 35 characters long
2. Has second address line printed on VFS generated return label
I am worried as how should I put my first address line (Street Address) for VFS return label so that apartment number is not truncated as my first address line is about 35 characters long.
My full address line 1 with apartment number comes out to be about 35
Even if I split the first line into two, I have read somewhere that when VFS generate return label two address lines are combined into one when label is printed by VFS.
So, that would still make it about 35 characters - leading to the possibility of apartment number truncation which is needed most.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.
