Indian Passport

Applied for passport original docs sent Feb 26.
Since I sent old photos taken from India, got rejected as the shoulders were not visible.
Got new photos from local Costco.
Photos accepted on March 13
11:04 am Application is 'Under Process' at Embassy for decision making. - March 14.

Hopefully I will get my passport before April 29th, booked tickets already.
Got passport on April 12th

Its already been more than 2 weeks that my passport application is "Under Process" at the Embassy. Now, I am wondering if the status would change just within next few days(within 3 weeks) or not.
I am already afraid after reading others experiences of not having received even till 2 months.
Also, I have tried mailing quite a many times to the CGISF regarding my urgent need of the new passport. They do reply back but don't really do anything to expedite the process.

Mar 25, 2019 - Passport Delivered
Mar 22, 2019 - Passport picked up by FedEx.
Mar 20, 2019 - Passport ‘Received’ at the CKGS application center and is at the ‘Sorting Facility’ where it is being processed for delivery.
Mar 20, 2019 - Application 'Reviewed' by Consulate and ‘In Transit’ to CKGS Application Centre.
Feb 27, 2019 - Application is 'Under Process' at Consulate for decision making.
Feb 27, 2019 - Application is 'In Transit' to the Consulate.
Feb 26, 2019 - Application is ‘Under Process’ at CKGS.
Feb 26, 2019 - Application Verification is ‘Complete’. Processing of your application will continue.
Feb 26, 2019 - Application ‘Received’ by CKGS and 'Not Verified'.

i have applied for my son passport renewal application in jan 22nd still waiting , is any one got their passport renewal after jan.

My wife & I applied for Passport renewal at CKGS, DC personally. During submission we were told due to system upgrade currently the renewal takes longer, 5 weeks in place of 3 weeks.

The status at CKGS site shows pending at Embassy for decision making. It has been more than 5 weeks already. We have tickets to India on April 5th. Does anyone know how to expedite it?

Just submitted today March 13th. I need it by April 15th positively.
Feeling afraid after reading some negative experiences.

I have a change of appearance as yes. Dont know if that will delay.

Worried most about the police verification. That is where everything gets stuck.

Submitted on 08th Feb... Reached embassy of 12th... Issued today. It's taking "At least " 4 weeks from the date it reaches embassy... email to first secretary with detailed explanation of urgency helped to get it issued in 4 weeks. But, in all cases not before 4 weeks.

My passport was stolen in a cafe last week and I am scheduled to travel to India on March 14th for my H1B stamping, with my visa appointment scheduled on March 18th.

I have applied for a takal service for re-issue of passport.
The status as of yesterday (March 6th) was "Under process at Embassy" . I would positively need the passport in hand by March 13th. That means I have five working days remaining that I can afford to spare.

In this time of anxiety, it would be of a lot of help to hear about takal application experiences and how long it took to receive the passport in hand after submitting the application.

I was informed at the time of submission that I would receive my passport within 3 to 5 business days. But I am apprehensive after reading the experiences below, that that stipulated time provided by CKGS may not be something to count on after all.

I have submitted my passport for renewal by walk in at sfo using regular service. It is under process since 13th feb. Does anyone know what the timelines are nowadays? When I emailed ckgs, they said there are some technical delays at sfo which are hampering the passport service. Is there any way I can quicken the process? I have other applications that are stuck because of this

Hello I submitted my passport renewal under tatkal at Washington DC consulate on 21 st feb..After reaching them through Twitter and email today I came to know my application is under clearance at Nagpur RPO .. does anyone has any experience like this I have to travel in medical emergency.. don’t know when they will get clearance
