Since last update when I called they told me that send your passport for match up with out email from CKGS that also reached by 05/21 but they are not updating any status on their site. I hope my OCI card will be back before 1st June.

I am not sure how ling it will be takes for decision making, but as per forum its looks like they may take at least 50 - 60 days (am i right?)

on 5/14/2015 at 4 PM Just received email to send the passports for OCI-Passport match-up. 3 days later.

Time line
4 days for ckgs to send the application to SF consulate once they received it.
52 days for India to process the OCI from ACK date
1 day to print
1 day to send OCI to SF
19 days to receive OCI at SF
3 days to receive email to send in the passports = Total process time = 80 - days so far.

I am sending the passports tomorrow 5/15/2015.will post when they receive it and when I will get my OCI+ passports back

Since I had an existing travel plan with my kids in June, I cant submit my kids original PIO card to the consulate as a part of OCI in lieu of PIO application. I am planning to keep a photo copy and a covering letter with this reason in my application. I can take this ORIGINAL PIO cards to the CGI office on return of my kids to US(in August). Does this work? I know that the best case should be my application would be delayed till I submit the original PIO cards, which is correct. But what are the other potential issues for this idea? I just want to file the application IN TIME(before June 10th) as these inconsistent rumors are floating around that thats the last date for using PIO card.

Any expert ideas?

I have been replying to several post about my timeline. I hope it may help to some of you.
Time and processing at SF CKGS is depends on your paper work but my application was sent to SF Consulate in 4 days.
Status at http://www.passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury showed

Date of Acknowledgment 27-FEB-2015
It stayed "under Process" for 52 days
Documents printing Status - Processed - 20-APR-2015
Dispatched From MOIA (OCI) New Delhi - 21-APR-2015
Document received At - San Francisco - 13-MAY-2015 ( IST) (about 19 days total - 14 working days)

Now waiting for email from SF CKGS to send in our passports for OCI-Passport match.

I applied for my OCI in February at the SF mission and it was finally sent to consulate March 12, 2015 and acknowledged date was that also. It is now May 12, 2015 and it still shows as Under-Process on the indian consulate website. I am looking to start a job soon in India and need the OCI status, Can anyone provide any insight?

If I send my documents on Monday 5/11 , what are the chances that I will get it before 5/22 ?

It seems one should also apply for Visa if one is applying for OCI as the freaking process is takes way too long. Its expected of applicants to get OCI card before making travel plans which can mean applying for 5-6 months prior to your travel date. Also seems like SF consulate is the worst.

After waiting for over 2 months I'm thinking of applying for tourist visa for my kid and collecting OCI card after my India visit. Here are the timelines -
