The longest waiting time
We applied for OCI in SFO in February. The application was received on Feb 12th and now is under process at the Embassy / Consulate. It is been 5 months already...So frustrating. We started the process 6.5 months before planned trip to India. I guess that is not enough.

OCI Match UP delay - San Francisco Nightmare
Applied OCI for my baby boy in March 18th 2015. Received the Match up email on June 12th 2015. Sent the passport for match up.
Received the CKGS email on June 30th 2015 that its under process at the consulate. No update after that. Tried calling CKGS, but it is a waste of time as they are not aware of the details.

There is no way to find out the timeline from the consulate which is keeping passport for such a long time.

I have confirmed tickets for my family to India on July 20th . Not sure, if i will get the passport in time to make the journey.

The delay is increasing the stress and anxiety levels.

SFO consulate is the only one which is causing such a delay in match up process. The NY, CHI and Houston consulates are providing the passport in 3-4 days after match up.

Document printing status - Processed: 17-Jun-2015

OCI rexperience for my son- San Francisco
It's more than four months and I am still waiting for my son's OCI card to arrive.

I applied for my son's OCI on February 22, 2015 and it was received at CKGS-San Francisco office on March 3rd. Although they have mentioned (in their checklist) that in case of University Students, a letter from University housing will be accepted as an address proof but they refused to do so and told me that address proof submitted by me is not acceptable. then I sent them a screenshot of their own document and thereafter they started processing my application. It was sent to Indian Embassy/Consulate on March 13th and after about three months of wait (on June 9th), I got an email that my son's OCI card has arrived and ready for match-up with his US Passport. I send his passport next day which was delivered on June 12th (as per tracking details) but there was no update available at their website. After a wait of another 10 days, it was updated that the passport has received and it is 'UNDER PROCESS' from June 25th.
There is no update available thereafter. I sent them an email to know the status and the replied- "Your application is already in the consulate. They will let you know if it's ready for match up."

After over 3 months of waiting and being underprocess I was finally approved for my OCI status. I am now waiting for my OCI card to arrive in SF, they shipped it on June 19th 2015 but It hasn't arrived yet. I am currently in India and don't really want to leave to get the card, I am going to send my passport back to the SF consulate to get the U visa sticker and OCI card. OCI Registration
My husband applied for OCI as a family for me, himself and son. The documents just got sent to Delhi. At the OCI website, if I put in my passport no. and acknowledgement no., nothing show up, however, when my husband does this, it comes up - under-processing. So, do they look at our applications collectively, and approve all three together? Should we assume, if his goes through, ours will too and all 3 OCIs will be printed? Is it possible that the consulate has not sent mine yet? Thx for your reply.

Like many others, I had roller coaster moments because, I had a family emergency so we booked our tickets for July 6 and was worried whether I would be getting the documents before our travel. I had mailed and called CKGS after receiving the matchup mail explaining my situation and they said there is no way to expedite my application and the matchup would take 2 weeks, but to my surprise the matchup took just 1 week. So, the entire process took me a little more than 2 months. I hope this helps.
