OCI Denied - anyone with similar experience?
My OCI was denied a few days back by Washington DC Embassy. I work for a State Police Agency (civilian job, IT department) and I was told by Embassy that I am not eligible for OCI because I work for Police Department. The FAQs I see on VFS website only talk of below that are

1) Whether foreign military personnel are eligible for grant of OCI?

No, foreign military personnel either in service or retired are not entitled for grant of OCI.

2) Whether civil Govt. servant working in Ministry of Defense as IT engineers/civil contractors entitled for OCI?

No.

I was born and raised in India, I have no ties with US Department of Defense, nor with any of the US Federal Agencies. I have tried contacting the Embassy, but the phone calls are never answered (despite voicemails). The only response I have received has been to my email and a one liner - "This could be because of your job profile. People working for police are not eligible of the OCI card."

Is there anyone on here with a similar experience? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

OCI AND US PASSPORT LAST NAME MISMATCH
Hello,

I am a US Citizen by birth and hold an OCI card for the past 6 years. I recently got married and changed my surname on my US Passport. I now want to change my surname on my OCI card using the OCI Misc Services application. However, the BLS website says that it takes 60 days to process the OCI application. I need to go to India in the beginning of January, and I am afraid if I send them my OCI card, passport, and all documents, they might not return in time for my India trip.

Currently, the surname on my passport (married name) is different from the surname on my OCI card (maiden name). Is there any way I can travel to India on my current OCI card and show my marriage license & old expired passport to prove that I am the same person? Or will they not allow me to enter India if the surname on my passport is different from the surname on my OCI card?

Does anyone have experience with this problem?
 Please help!!
