OCI Card

Hi There,

Does anyone know here how soon you find out if you OCI application has been rejected after submission to the embassy? How do you get notified if the application has been rejected? My application has been under-process since September 11th 2021 @CGI NY? Any information regarding this would very helpful.

Total time taken is 27 days from application sent to VFS by me till received by courier today.
Including postal delivery time.

Approved on 21st day - because I applied on my previous Indian passport.
My surrender certificate cam back on 10th day - in parallel to OCI request.

Track you application using VSF.global has been showing this same status since July 31, 2021.
"Your application has reached at the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process".

What is going on?

I recently applied for OCI for my minor son. Here is the time line of everything that happened. Hope this information helps.

Hi There,

Does any one know for how long the "under process" time frame. VFS sent the OCI application on Sept 10th and it was acknowledged on Sept 11, 2021 by CGI ( New York). My question is how long does it stay "under- process" at CGI New York? What are the next steps in the updates, so I can manage expectations accordingly? I have had no communication for anything besides VFS sending an email to me that my application was processed and was in transit to the embassy on Sept 9th.

VFS Status : Your application is received and under assessment at the High Commission/Consulate General of India.

Waiting for CGI to verify and send to VFS, Waiting for mail to come.

Days till date = 23rd Day.

My wife applied back in May 2021.

The OCI status reads 'Under process' and the date of acknowledgement is May 27th 2021.

Has anyone else experienced such delays?

I reached out to VFS and they ask me to talk to the consulate in SF. I can't get a hold of a human when calling the consulate and emailing them hasn't yielded any results either.

Any ideas on how to proceed appreciated :)
