I have PIO card and wanted to apply for the OCI card. I have filled the online form (Got a pdf out of it). Is it best to mail the document or would it be best to submit the form in person. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The supporting documents asked for "proof of self being citizen of india after 1950..." - Is this necessary if you are providing a copy of the PIO card?

Most important tip I found from other on this forum was to track your application on http://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury
As soon as I saw the document was received at NEW YORK CGI On 22-MAY-2015 same day I printed Online OCI Services status report and stopped by the CKCS office in NYC and dropped off the PASSPORT & OCI MATCH UP REQUEST FORM. No Appointment necessary.
