Oath Scheduled but no letter arrived via mail yet or documents tab on USCIS account not updated yet
Hey there

I am Boston based and Monday last week my status changed to oath ceremony scheduled and letter sent and that document will show in document tab in 3 or 4 days. It has been a week now and I have not received the letter or document online in my account profile. It is scheduled for a little over a week away. Has anyone had issues getting the letter via mail or online? how long does it typically take? and is there anyway to get it emailed if necessary?

US passport application status - Houston, TX
Hey everyone. I hope you all doing good and safe.

I have applied for US passport at USPS Jun 9th after I got my oath of allegiance ceremony. I have received an email from the US state government agency as below

Application Status: In Process

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot provide an update on when you will receive your passport and the return of your citizenship documents until we resume normal operations and staff return to our agencies and centers.

While we continue to accept applications, process your payments, and safeguard your forms, we cannot update your passport status at this time. For more information, read our COVID-19 update.

Seems to be the process getting longer than usual. Good luck you all in your citizenship journey .

God bless America ❤️

I made a mistake on my n-400 form :-(
Hi everyone!

I don’t know if what happened to me ever happened to anyone else here in this forum, but if it did, I would appreciate it very much if you could share your experience with me. I made a big mistake on my n-400 application I submitted online. I’ve tried to remedy the situation and did my best to fix this, but I know in the end it’s really up to the USCIS officers who will process my case.
This is what happened; on June 10, I filed and submitted my application online and even went over it before I clicked the submit button only to realize one day later after going over my N-400 application snapshot one more time that I left out some information that is crucial for the officers.
I made a mistake on the information I provided in Part 9 – Time Outside the United States. Instead of listing the countries I visited in the last 5 years, I listed the country I visited in the last year. This is not relevant, but I’m a teacher and am constantly online or in front of the screen. I had graded papers and written student reports and I guess I was just tired and misread the phrase. I was in utter shock when I realized what I had done as I had travelled not only to Canada for 4 days as I reported in my application, but I had also travelled to Turkey in 2018 and 2015 for one month each. There’s absolutely no reason for me not to disclose this information and it was a genuinely honest mistake. I right away wrote a letter to USCIS explaining in detail what had happened and apologized several times for this honest mistake I made. I told them that I noticed what I had done one day after I submitted my application and asked them to please not to deny my application as it was an honest mistake and I right away reported to them what I had done by mistake. I also provided them with the exact dates of the trips I took in the last 5 years, the countries and the amount of days. I also let them know that I called USCIS and spoke to an agent asking for advice and how to proceed. She told me to write a letter to the National Benefits Center in Missouri as they are the ones who deal with making corrections I guess. Unfortunately, the USCIS lady on the phone sounded very cold and not empathetic to my case. I know that there’s nothing she can do about this, but it would have been nice to talk to someone who is warmer and empathizes with people in distress. Long story short, I express mailed a detailed and apologetic letter to the National Benefits Center providing them with the correct information, and also uploaded the same letter to my USCIS account as we are allowed to upload additional documents but cannot edit the N-400 form. So I did everything I could to explain to them that it was an honest mistake and I tried to fix it within 1-2 days of my submitting my application. Now all that is left for me to do is to pray and hope they will not be harsh and forgive this error. But somehow I think I will be denied as the will regard this as a
‘big mistake”.

Is there anybody here who made a similar mistake like I did and was not denied citizenship? I’m not talking about typing a wrong house or apartment number as I think those mistakes are not so serious, but something more similar like what I did?

Last question, when I get denied for something like this, can I reapply and how long do I have to wait to reapply? (I know that I have to pay the $725 fee again, which is devastating enough)

Thank you in advance for anyone who can give me a little insight.

Best wishes,
A very sad and devastated fellow immigrant ☹

Selective service/arrest questions
Hey all!
I’m ready to file my N400 and have two very important questions:

- at some point of my presence in US I was out of status and didn’t register for selective service bc of it. If anyone had a similar situation- how did you reply to the select service question in your N400? (I got my GC being over 28 already)

- I was also arrested once and my case was dismissed. Did you attached a copy of a disposition letter to your case? Did you have to bring an original to the interview? If so, is there a disposition letter issue Date limitation? Like it has to be issued no later then a month before the interview or so

Thank you!
