Brooklyn, NY field office
Is there anyone who has applied at the Brooklyn field office and is experiencing considerable delays post interview?

I had my interview in May and still waiting for approval.

A decision cannot be made yet on the application
I just did the citizenship interview today and IO gave me a letter N-652, checked boxes on "You passed" and "A decision cannot be made yet about your application"
What is worst scenario? Does any one know on this? I am kind of nervous.

Question
Hey y’all. Hopefully someone knows about my inquiry. My interview is next week and was wondering if they will ask for detention papers at port of entry. I tried to use FOIA but it takes forever and I figure USCIS already has records of it, since it’s the office Id be getting records from. Do I need to worry about this?

My timeline in Los Angeles
Hi all. I just had my interview in Los Angeles today and my application was recommended for approval. I checked the USCIS website 3 hours later, and it says that my application was approved and my Oath ceremony has been scheduled. My timeline was as follows:

10/30/2018 Applied online
11/02/2018 Biometrics scheduled
11/20/2018 Biometrics reviewed
07/16/2019 Interview scheduled notice received
08/27/2019 Completed interview in LA
08/27/2019 Online status updated to say 'We approved your application'
08/27/2019 Online status updated to say 'We scheduled your naturalization ceremony'

Good luck to everyone waiting for their interviews.

N-400 application submitted April 24, 2017
When I downloaded from official USCIS website the N-400 application, filled it and sent to USCIS, I got it all back saying I need to use updated form that they mailed me so the application on the website was wrong.

Then I mailed it again and got Application submitted date as April 24, 2017 at Baltimore, MD office and got a letter after 30 days saying they have received the application and no other information.

Then I went through finger printing within 4 months.

Then, February 13th, online status changed to saying interview was scheduled and will send a mail and so I got it the mail end of February.

Then, I finally interviewed on April 24th 2018 where I filled in the form to change my last name at the same time when the interviewer asked me (BIG MISTAKE). I was interviewed for about 1/2 hour and the interviewer was nice. She came at the door to let me out and said I should hear within 3-6 months on decision. Since I opted to change my last name, I cannot be sworn in their facility because I need to be sworn in at the court in front of a judge and that is why it will take that much time. At that moment I couldn't change my mind. If she had mentioned that when I filled in the form inside, I would have said no to changing my last name at this time.

When Ist called the USCIS office, they said that office is working on June 22nd 2017 case and my case was April 24th 2017 that she couldn't explain and that's when I submitted through her my first inquiry which deemed useless and waste of efforts. Since then I've submitted 4 useless inquiries.

Since the outside of original processing time of end of October 2018, I have an placed 4 inquiries and for each inquiry I got exact same letter with no information other than they have received my inquiry and for each of the response they took maximum amount of time they are allowed to response to an inquiry - 30 days and still the only thing I got they have received my inquiry and don't have any other information for me at this time.

They specified to go to the website, register to get the most current information because when I call they say they cannot help me with my case over the phone and have the same information as it shows online but I can send another inquiry and wait for the same reply as I got before nothing.

Since then my status has not changed online - it still says the interview has been scheduled and will send a letter when the interview has already been completed.

Now the processing time for Baltimore office in Maryland, every time I check seems to be increasing and now it says 13-24 months.

I cannot get any help from USCIS at all. I even tried to go back to office in person, they said they don't take walk-in inquiries any more. Only and no phone calls either.

So, I don't know what's going on.

Baltimore field Office Same day Approval
Filed Application for N 400 ON OCTOBER 31

FINGER PRINT NOVEMBER 20

WAITED FOR NEARLY 10 MONTHS FOR AN INTERVIEW DID NOT BOTHER TO CALL THEM

INTERVIEW SCHEDULED ON JUL 23

INTERVIEW WAS FOR AUGUST 26
My interview was for 10:15 am and did not get called in till around 11:30 am. Prior to my interview i had a dream i was interviewed by a lady and rightfully so that was the case. The lady that interviewed me was young and vibrant and i loved her attitude. I answered all first 6 questions correctly and she moved on with other stuffs on my application. Asked the eligibility questions and at the end of the interview she said i was been recommended for Approval, i was shocked
hahaha because Baltimore field office do not usually do this from what i had read , I could not hide my feelings immediately tears of joy came down my eyes and she told me congratulations and walked me out of the door and asked me to wait outside so they can schedule my oath. I was told there will be an oath on Tuesday the 27th of August. One at 11 am and one at 11pm i opted for the 11:00 am . I am finally becoming an American After 8 years of living in this Great country, and generations after me will here about all the struggles i went through to get to this point because as it stands i will be a first generation American in my family and my off springs will become Americans. God is Great and there is nothing impossible for him to do

N-400 application denied due to Case Officer mistake
My Case Officer incorrectly calculated the number of days of my physical presence period in the US, which resulted in the denial of my N-400 naturalization application. What would you suggest I should do? Is there any recourse to appeal their decision other than filing N-336 Form ($700 fee)? Do I need to hire a lawyer?
I would very much appreciate your advice.
Thanks.
